I can’t believe how bad.
I can’t believe a company can stay in business with service like this. I would rather pay double than use these useless bunch of unemployable people. Firstly they couldn’t find my car them when they did it was faulty with a worn wheel bearing, they said it was just bad luck and I had to do a 50 mile round trip for them to replace it.
The worst car rental company..
The worst car rental company... Only 2 customers before us and we waited for nearly an hour. At one point, the only staff left her desk when she realised that some previous customers had forgotten their key cars. Instead of waiting for them to pick them up. She walked very relaxed as if on her break and followed the customer up to their car. When she came back, I dared to exhale in frustration and then she looked at me crossly and instead of apologising asked me to be patient! On this, she literally left her desk again for another 5 minutes! No apologies, no sign of trying her best or anything. Complete disregard for me and my family. Will never use them again
DO NOT USE INTERRENT/GOLDCAR
DO NOT USE INTERRENT/GOLDCAR they are SCAMMERS.In the last few months they have falsely charged myself 500E my daughters 600E and my friend 400E for non existent damage. Their scam works like this - if you do not take their very expensive insurance, they give you a car which is already covered with extensive superficial damage making it very difficult to accurately check all of the existing damage. When you return the car they decline to examine it in your presence and then later send you a bill for supposed but in fact non existent additional damage and simply deduct the money from your credit card despite your protests.
Their customer service department is useless.
SCAM DO NOT USE!
SCAM DO NOT USE!
Returned car at Lyon airport. No one to check the car at return so had to go back to the rental desk to return keys. No time to hang around as flight to catch. Returned the car in excellent condition and was charged 60 euro "special cleaning" - their proof: a receipt dropped on the floor under the seat. obviously no customer service to speak to since and no chance to get the money back. Theft. Pure and simple. Don't be fooled by the low rental cost. They make their money from your deposit
WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T USE INTER RENT.
In 30 years of travel Inter Rent has been my single worst travel experience.
Last week we travelled to Mallorca and booked a car with them. Our flight was delayed by just over 3 hours. We called Inter Rent to explain. They told us it would all be fine.
However when the arrived they'd given our car to someone else AND still charged us! They then charged us again for another MORE expensive car.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! WALK IF YOU HAVE TO
Unacceptable delays
We booked our car through Ryanair, and upon arrival at Malaga airport made our way to the InterRent desk. There we were kept waiting for almost 2 hours in a queue before we could collect our car. The employees on the counter were incredibly rude to the customers waiting, and one even indulged in a shouting match with a (Spanish) customer who had the temerity to complain about the wait! Disgraceful service, appalling customer care and complete lack of information about the delays (computer problems apparently). Would not use again.
They Will trick you
I payed for rent through Expedia but when I should Pick up car the staff was not satisfied that I would not pay 100 euro extra to upgrade to car with automatic gear. Then I was told they need copy of Credit card and a signature on a paper to get the Keys but 2 days after found out that i have payed over 300 euro extra which they have taken from the creditcard. Dont know what its for and have not got any money back so I dont think its a deposit.
Scam artists
I hired a car through Expedia and they connected me to Goldcar. They are a bunch of scam artist and robbers. The advisor at Expedia said that this was one of the best companies they dealt with and these people have turned out to be the worst I face ever dealt with.
Firstly, they refused to accept American express for security deposit as they stated “it’s not a credit card, only visa or MasterCard is...” and made me pay insurance charges of nearly €200 euros otherwise they wouldn’t give me the car which I had already paid for through Expedia.
Secondly, after I gave the car back to one of their attendants, I specifically asked him if all was in order or will I incur any other charges as the tank was full and the car was in undamaged state, he said there would be no charge (after inspecting my contract and the car) and then they sent me a bill for car cleaning of €150.
Thirdly, they charged me for a device to ensure all toll charges were collected and charged at the end of the hire and would give me the car without it and specifically insisted on it. Then they charged my card for toll charges and their manager confirmed there would be no other charges and to my surprise, two weeks later they tried to take money out unlawfully without consent or prior warning, alleging it was for toll charges again.
God knows what they are going to try next.
Complete and utter scam artists. I used Expedia as I thought Expedia was a reputable company but this episode has really got me to lose my trust in Experian too who deals with such robbers.
I was scammed at Stansted.
I was scammed at Stansted.
I booked a 10 day car hire. Somehow the flight number and the arrival time on the booking form were not correct, (I suspect these were changed by Interrent). The consequence of this was that I was "late" and they cancelled the booking, despite my 10 day booking.
I phoned the contact number on arrival and was connected to a Spanish recorded message. Phoned again and was connected to a man who asked endless questions "to establish my identity" After about 10 minutes and dozens of questions he then played the game of being unable to hear me, and the call was ended. I phoned again but it went unanswered. I had to hire from another company.
Note: there are apparently 3 companies somehow involved the scam. Rentalcars.com, Jigsaw (based in Malta) and Intterent. I booked through Rentalcars.com but the other 2 featured in the booking and in the aftermath.
WE WERE "MUGGED"
On arrival found the car unwashed, smelly inside and with seventeen recorded damages. Two markers recorded damage on the rear of car and we believed this covered all damage on the back of the car. We also pointed out some unrecorded damage to the front wheel at collection.
When returning the car, we were told there was a waiting time of at least 30 mins before an inspection could take place, however were told we could hand over the keys without any problems.
Now 200 Euros has been taken from my credit card for damage which was already recorded by the markers on the Contract. We contacted Goldcar/Interrent to dispute this unfair charge but were told that this was in line with their company policy and forwarded a photograph of the damage which was a generic picture and was impossible to match to the car we had rented. To be honest, it could have been a picture of the backside of a horse!!
We contacted Goldcar/Interrent again, but this time have been ignored completely. We have also contacted Doyouspain.com (who we booked the rental with) who after an initial confirmation of receipt of our complaint are now ignoring us completely in spite of further chase ups. Clearly unable or unwilling to be of any kind of assistance.
I wish I had looked at reliable websites before booking as I would have seen the warnings that this is standard practice for Goldcar/Interrent. I feel I have been mugged and other than leaving warnings to others there seems to be very little I can do.
FRAUDULENT THEFT
LIES, THEFT AND CREDIT CARD FRAUD! Was charged 1100 deposit then an extra charge of 92 euros at Murcia airport. Agent said the extra 92 was the fuel deposit. I double checked before I paid and was told yes, 12 was aiport tax and around 80 was for fuel deposit and would be returned if the car was returned full. I had no paperwork given to me. When I returned the car the paperwork showed the 92 was for mobile wifi hire! I never got offered or given this, it was theft and a face to face lie by the desk agent. Shocking practice DO NOT USE THESE THIEVES! they are operated by Goldcar in Murcia, give them a miss.
We had to wait 2 hrs to have our car…
We had to wait 2 hrs to have our car rented, with other custemers in line. The rental agenta were very słów and arrogant. We will never use this company again.
Undisclosed charges and deceitful business practices
I arrived at the airport vehicle collection desk to be presented with an ultimatum; As the vehicle would only be covered by third party insurance I could either pay €120 for four days full insurance or accept that (in the event of accidental damage) I would not be able to claim back more than €1200 from my third party insurance excess policy and would have to personally pay any charge in excess of that. I cancelled my vehicle reservation and used alternative (public) transport - which turned out to be cheaper anyway.
You definitely get what you pay for
You definitely get what you pay for - they are cheap for a reason.
After queuing for 90 minutes in the office, every other customer had problems of some kind all to do with inflexible and unrealistic policies. After my 90 minutes in the queue, 25 minutes to process the transaction, I then had to queue for a further 25 minutes while the car was cleaned. All in all, I spent 2.5 hours to collect a car. Never again!
Interent a Scam
Interent a Scam
This is the state of the car i hired from interent. On Thursday 11/07/190 I flew from Southend Airport in London to Marco Polo in Venice Italy. I hired a car through RYANAIR booking which recommended Interent a company I never heard before. They use a shuttle bus from the Airport. The bus is not labelled Interent it took me time and phone calls back and forth. Eventually I got there. The Company hired me a Ford Fiesta White in colour registration FK-211DA. The car was marked all over with marks dents and scratches. They were not marked on the paper work either. When I mentioned I was told and shown a poster at the front office of damages of dented cars over 5cm they charged. I was advised not to worry. I took the car without Satnav, USB wasn’t working to charge my phone but this wasn’t the problem.
The problem started when a tyre warning light came on. I went round checked the tyres only to find they had been worn down with cracks and splits in them. I was due to travel to Rome 1000+ miles from Venice on Sunday 14/07/2019 at 9am I returned the car at the rental place in Venice. I spoke to Front Desk Lady by the name Sylvia in Venice who was vile rude and to be honest made my holiday in Italy unpleasant.
I started explained I have returned the car because there was an issue with the tyres. She told me I was going to be charged. I took this as a language barrier. Any way Sylvia went to see the car
Initially I paid a deposit of 1500 euros on the Ford Focus. I requested a swap or change of tires on the 14/07/2019 at approximately 10am. Sylvia told me i needed to pay an extra 1500euros deposit. I was not happy so contacted customer services who told me to deal with the front desk and hung up on me.
Stranded? Yes I was. I had to pay. 1500 Euro deposit on another car they gave me was a VW polo Black Registration FV-611GE had a scratch on the bonnet small to be polished off. I was so disorganized. My plans had been ruined as I spent two hours trying to fig out why I had to pay for a swap. I even asked Sylvia to change the tires so I can continue with my day. She told me they didn't do that on Sunday.
So she requested keys to do checks they do on return of the vehicle before swap. I had my camera a Sony Alfa NEX7 with a 15-18mm lens and a Telescopic lens 18-200mm in a bag. This went missing and she denied knowledge.
I spoke to her about the scratch she told me it’s not 5cm. I was told to follow the damages on the poster in their office. What is shown on the posters is cars dented this was a scratch with not even a dent.
When I went in the next day to report the loss of my camera, I spoke to the manager. Very polite Gentleman. Surprisingly, the car had been rented out to a couple with same defects and lucky for me was still on the yard. I was desperate to get my camera. I had travelled taken pictures and videos in Florence and Tuscany that where valuable more than the camera. I requested to check back in the car. I was told it had been rented yesterday and wasn’t available. I looked for it on my paper work. The tires had not been changed. I warned the couple who had hired the car to check tyres. They eventually abandoned the car.
Shows how this company isn't concerned about safety of customers but money.
This company are a bunch of thieves
This company are a bunch of thieves. They took our money under the guise that they would provide a car at Edinburgh Airport. When my wife and son arrived to pick up the car, they were told they did not meet their terms and conditions and were too late to cancel (having waited in a queue for over an hour) so we’re left stranded and could not get a refund! Be very aware that they are impossible to communicate with. They do not respond to complaints or e-mails.
Worst company ever!!!!
Only because you can’t give a 0 ...... they are a shocking company to deal with....they just ignore all attention contact them....and make it extremely difficult to do so....they give you a car that is dirty and then charge you to clean it!!!.... avoid at all costs or be stung!!
