Shaw Academy is SCAM!!!
NB!!! DON´T GIVE them your bank account details, not even Paypal's!!! I know you can't register without it, that's the point they have!
Unfortunately, it is true that they are a scam!!! Offered a free training course. When registering as a user, I had to provide the details of the payment instrument. The service fee showed € 0.00, but they took € 0.50 and activated automatic payments in my Paypal account! € 0.50 of this money was returned and they apologized. for incorrect transmission. Next I had to choose the course materials, there was no notice that they were paid. Afterwards, I discovered that € 39.99 has been deducted from my bank account through Paypal !!! I have not received any services, courses or materials from them to date, but they refuse to return the money. This is a scam and I hope my notification helps someone else!

Most disgusting BS Scam business I have ever even met.
I've started reglamation with my bank with them. I signed in on August, and asked to them on the phone and mail to delete my Membership in trial time 2 week later. They charged me 4months of 49.99e unlimited Membership so together I Lost 200e.
They refuse the refund even if I have every document.
Their customer service is a big joke with liars who lie straight to your face and that's teir business.
I will not stop until I get my money back.
I will do also crime report which I recommend to do asap if you have also been stealed on your account.
I have mailed and I will spam them as long they will not have a future anymore to live with our money. There are thousand of scammed people everywhere. STAY AWAY! MOST DEEP BS HAVE EVER SEEN who made their scam business in students stealed money.

Service

1. Their mobile app is malfunctioning (btw, this is how they charged me, when the app crashes and they are not willing to refund the money)
2. Their classes are jut pre recorded videos.
3. Their free 4 week trial is just 1 module out of 4.
4. The certificate they access is not even legit.

Charges

1. Their website and mobile applications have 1 click purchases all over.
2. They can charge you within the 4 week trial.
3. They can charge your card even after you cancelled your membership.
4. They charge your card, with no reason at all.

Data handling

1. They sell out your phone number.
2. The trash your email inbox, and message you every day multiple times.
3. They keep your data, and can use it long after you unsubscribed.
(phone, email and card details)
4. If you request them to delete your data, they will likely not do it, just tell you they did.

Complaint handling

1. Their customer service is a joke. They do not read your emails, just send you pre defind messages.
2. Their customer service agents literally lie!
3. They try to call you over the phone and charge you, based on a phone conversation that never happened.
2. They try to not issue refunds, instead they trick you to take some kind of extension on your membership.(pack, 12 month free, lifetime free, access to everything, etc.)

Mine experience

I was home with a newborn and I was excited to learn some new skills. They charged me 49,99 euro for something it was their mistake and they are not refunding me. This is a lot of money when you have a baby.

I decided to cancel my membership from them and they give me a number to contact with but the problem is i cannot reach to it, i wasnt be able to to talk to them. And still they charged me even before my billing date. This will happen when you attemp to cancel your subscription. Don't trust this app , they will steal from you , youll be charged without even saying a word.

Well, disappointed by the customer service. Here is my story:
I have enrolled for the 4 weeks free trial (In order to sign up you have to plug your Bank account or Paypal account) and right after scheduling the classes a window popped up saying get your TOOLKITS and etc. I have avoided by clicking X in the right corner. Unfortunately Shaw Academy have charged me total of (89.98 euros) for a 1 month Premium subscription plus a TOOLKIT without any authorizations. I have immediately contacted the customer service in order to have a refund. I have received a phone call after 48 hours. I have told them that I could not talk on the phone and they accepted my request by communicating only by e-mail.
Then I have requested a full refund but unfortunately they said my refund is outlined by their refund policies. According to the The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Practices you can unwind the agreement and have a refund within the first 90 days of purchase. Instead of my refund they offered me lifetime subscription plus free TOOLKIT and E-certificate. But as we know during this harsh COVID virus time we are all struggling with financial problems that is why I requested a refund. I am truly disappointed in Shaw Academy that they are making unauthorized payments and not accepting the requests of refund. I do not want to take any unwanted services plus force paid services. This is a total SCAM!!! SO PLEASE DONT SIGN UP FOR THIS ACADEMY. It is not worth of your time and energy.

Do not use this company. I signed up with them on a free course which was a Sunday Times offer. They proceeded to take money from my account without authority. This was resolved and I cancelled my account (or so I thought!). Six months later they have taken more money from my account. I contacted them and they refused to refund me. After some correspondence they then said they would refund me. After chasing them numerous times this has not happened.
They are totally without any business ethics and I have had to get my bank to block them from taking any more money from my account. I am now going to report them for theft to the police as they refuse to reply to me. Do not use them!!!

They Charged me £49.99, I did not buy anything extra as they claim, They DID NOT EVEN NOTIFY ME OF IT AND JUST TOOK MY MONEY.

DO NOT TRUST THIS FRAUDULENT AND SHADY COMPANY, THEY WILL BILL YOUR CARD REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU BOUGHT EXTRAS OR CANCELLED YOUR "FREE TRIAL" OR NOT.

TRUST PILOT HAVE EVEN ISSUED A PUBLIC WARNING AS THEY ARE CREATING FAKE GOOD REVIEWS ABOUT THEIR OWN COMPANY.

They charge you for something you would never ask for. You end up with an automatic payment that you never authorized.
Also cancelled the free trial membership and it was taken through multiple pages that follow one another, in an attempt to make you stay. But then they reactivated it without my consent.

I emailed them several time requesting for a refund and membership cancellation. Still waiting, with an active membership, which I explicitly requested to cancel, and with no refund at all.

Then they write below these reviews that they solved the problem, even if it's not true.
My "issue" is NOT BEEN RESOLVED AT ALL.

I am worried that they will deduct money again from my account without my authorisation.

These are all unfair commercial practices. Consumers have the rights to refund in cases of misleading commercial practices.

I WANT THE FULL REFUND.

They fabricated their website just to draw money from you! There is actually no free 4 weeks trial period! With this I’d like to mention my situation below:

On 1st Dec 2020 I decided to this free 4 weeks interior design course. I thought I’ll continue my subscription only if I like it and would like to continue further in the upcoming month. Notice:* they apparently give you a 28days free trial! So I signed up on their website and entered my card details! But to my surprise they have completely tricked me! I had attended only 1 class of interior design on 3rd Dec. And as they have this weekly class system, I selected the dates and time, hoping that my next class will also be free as it falls under the “28 days free trial.” Meanwhile they were bombarding the course homepage , emails and even text messages with pop up messages asking me buy a whole bunch of things: course materials, tookit, e- certificate etc for £49.99 each. Which is designed in such a manner that you’ll think it’s just a one time payment for the course including the monthly payment! Anyway moving back to the issue... they are going to charge you for the course materials for each separate modules. Even if you think you’re under the 4 weeks free trial! Even after u cancel your subscription within the trial period... your money will be gone! They will keep pestering you to buy the course materials which is not fully covered on the webinar session. Even after multiple complaints they refuse to return the money! Whereas in the T&C it is clearly mentioned that they will not charge anything within the free 28days trial! BEWARE!! Guys!! DO NOT FALL INTO THEIR TRAP!

Please do not make the mistake we (and seemingly a tonne of other people) made. Shaw is easy to sign up to but nearly impossible to opt-out of, and even after you have successfully opted out and cancelled your subscription, they will still continue to steal money from your account. It is such a headache and not worth the effort. I know of people who was only able to stop them by cancelling their cards associated with the Shaw account. PLEASE, DO NOT sign up, you will regret it.

I subscribed for a free trial and followed my lessons. It all went good until I decided to buy the certificate (39.99€ - which never arrived) and then I was charged two more payments (39.99€ and 49.99€).
I wrote several emails which never received a concrete answer and I am really upset because I want to be refund.

I see that your continued insistence upon being obtuse and avoiding the facts is your business model. Therefore I shall break it down once again your fraudulent business practice.

-I signed up for a free trial on November 27, 2019.
-I canceled said free trail on December 24, 2019 and have the email which was attached earlier.
-I noticed I was continuing to be charged monthly but under different business names. Changing no doubt to avoid detection on unwitting consumers.
-I reached out to several of your customer service lines and have received 21 emails from Shaw Academy agents regarding this situation, all of which stating you have to speak to me to resolve this. This is incorrect.
I have received 10 from you from an Agent named Reha. 8 stating she had to speak to me to resolve this. 2 offering me a total of $150 despite the fact your company has been fraudulently charging me since December of 2019 for a total well in excess of $600.
-I have received 8 emails from Marcus, one on Nov 7, 2020 in which he lied about speaking to me on the phone on that day stating I asked to have access to the lifetime premium membership. He started my so called 'lifetime premium membership' that day.
-I have repeatedly requested a copy of that phone recording, which has been ignored. Ignored because this is how you conduct business and because it also does not exist.
-You are lying to consumers.
-You are fraudulently removing funds from their accounts without authorization.
-You are stalling in responding back.
-You switch billing names to avoid detection.
-You claim you must speak to us to resolve this.
-You are all over BBB with other people's claims as to improper business practices.

There are reports and news articles about your company across the globe and your poor business practices. I can understand why. One just recently naming James Egan and how the company removed the one click purchase system. Mr Egan said customer queries rose from approximately 5,000 per day to over 23,000 during the lockdown period with the majority of queries regarding either cancellations before automatic subscription renewals, or inadvertent purchases made through its "one-click" payment system, which the company has since removed.
I am seeking full restitution of $654.98.

The only way consumer can avoid Shaw Academy taking funds without authorization is to close their credit cards, their paypal accounts or block access to banking info. I myself was forced to cancel my credit card after months of Shaw Academy failing to respond to my cancellation and cease and desist requests.
Avoid avoid avoid avoid avoid this company.

I would rate 0 if I could. They offer a free trial, then after you cancel before the trial ends(I canceled the very next day after I signed up) they charge you 2 months later.
Do not trust this scam company.

This site is a disappointment.
I was expecting this to be similar to udemy or skillshare, and I was interested with the service because of an ad on Instagram for a “free trial” period. I should have been more cautious and read some reviews. The free trial is essentially pointless, all materials are presented behind a paywall- if you click on anything that says “get toolkit” you’ll be charged, and, apparently double charges sometimes happen. The support system is severely lacking, it’s purpose is to placate your concerns with more offers instead of addressing your problems.
Now, shawacademy might have some (slight) minor positive points. The supposed goal to expand online learning is good, but the requirement to attend an online class at a fixed schedule is bizarre. 40$ for a non-refundable pdf and some videos is ridiculous, especially when the site layout intentionally makes itself unclear. If you end up signing on with a free trial, unless you sincerely want to spend 80$+ on one course, don’t bother.

Shaw Academy is a complete scam! If you want to learn online, please just do it from other online platforms, such as Coursera, Udemy, etc, but DO NOT even think about Shaw Academy, unless you want to lose your money and time! They might trick you into following a ''free'' 4 week trial course, but they surely will make you pay for it, whether you want it or not.
I was tricked into buying a premium membership over the phone - it looked as if they were just giving me more information over the course I signed up for, but in fact it was a dishonest way to charge me with £99.95 without me authorising them to do so. I buy stuff online all the time and have never had any issues - how come this time only I didn't understand I was buying their premium membership? I emailed them and after another phone conversation with them today, they have said I cannot get a refund, although I have already quit the course and don't want to follow none of their other courses. They offered me a Lifetime Free Access, which, of course, I refused. I just want my hard-earned money back and I won't give up. These times are very difficult financially for a lot of people (me including) and it is just horrible that Scam Academy, I mean Shaw Academy, has been allowed to operate freely for years (any authorities, please?), advertise on FB (hello, don't you have any policies against fraudulent companies?), and basically scam so many people without having any real legal consequences!
I RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO REPORT THIS COMPANY ON THESE WEBSITES:

Shaw Academy must be shut down! My bank has already started an investigation against Shaw Academy and I am getting prepared to take legal action against them. Also, if someone else is going to sue them as well, I will be happy to help and witness against them and their CEO James Egan.

Scam!!!! They scamed me

Beware because the company is a scam. I saw an advert for a free trial on Instagram for an interior design course with Shaw Academy. The trial is in fact not free. Shaw Academy stole £49.99 from me without my authorization. I have received nothing in return since I closed down my account without minutes of setting it up since I was so disappointed with the breach of trust. I immediately emailed them requesting a refund and their responses are extremely unhelpful. They reopened my account without my permission. They keep calling me and wasting my time by trying to offer me things other than a refund. On one email they offered me memberships for my family! Like as if I would put my family through that stress!? They are now refusing to give me a refund and refusing to give me proof for my peace of mind that my account is in fact closed. It has been several weeks of stress as a direct result of this company. I will not stop until I get justice.

Stealing money from your account. Firstly insisting on enrolling to the free trial period, then stealing money, purchasing services for you, without anh notification. Scammers. Do not contact, do not provide any assistance, just sending you again and again promotional emails, despite you havd deleted your account already.

I just tried to cancel my account but I'm not sure if it's done as i get a status saying ''scheduled to cancel''.
My ''free trial'' ends in 12 days and I'm afraid that they won't cancel and charge me after the free trial period.
I didn't get any message saying that i should call their calling center to fully cancel my subscription as other users did. I can't find any email adress on their website to demand my cancelation to be completed.
AVOID

I signed up for a free trial, canceled the account like within the first week, a month or so later my credit card is charged $69.99. I don't even have any account with them anymore. Can't log in because there is no account to login with. I reached out to them for a REFUND and I was told that they can see my account has been canceled. So if you can see my account is canceled and there is no activity then why didn't you offer a refund. SHAW ACADEMY ARE FRAUDS.... PLEASE STAY CLEAR.
