Run away do not sign up with these folks

Omg do not I repeat do not sign up with this company smh they stole me from my last company without my knowledge of consent, then I get my first bill its doubled up wayyy more then what I've ever paid for electricity smh I am so hurt and torn, I can't believe this company has done this to me, promising discounts and lower plans after I had to speak with somebody about what happened in the first place this company is a scam...

I absolutely would not do business with this company. They have predatory pricing. Here in Michigan, I signed up with them and on my bill for February 2026, the charged me $10.44 per MCF and Consumers Energy charge for the same period was $2.98, and for March, Just Energy is at $10.44, while Consumers Energy is at $3.63. On what planet does Just Energy think this is fair pricing. They sell you on this hook that they lock you in at a lower price. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE> BUNCH OF CROOKS!!!!!!

ABSOLUTE BUYER BEWARE! I got suckered in to signing up at Sam's Club. They looked at my usage and told me "oh your bill is going to be sooooo much lower" so I signed up like an idiot. My first bill was DOUBLE. I called the supposed VIP Sams club line and got an overseas person who knew nothing about all the promises they made. I tried getting support from everywhere. The website does not work, even their help articles require a Salesforce login you don't have. Then you try to chat and it says it is connecting you and nothing. I am a property manager and I have a relationship with a large electricity provider here. I sent him my bill and he said I am being charged higher than their highest commercial short term rate!

Absolutely the worst most aggressive sales people that should not be knocking on your door. That is against the law and they keep doing it.
I just canceled my service with them and called them out. Advised them how pissed off I was and almost dropped the F-Bomb.A 1 star is a stretch there should be a ZERO

This company is a fraud. Engage at your own RISK!

If I could give this no stars I absolutely would! This company has completely torn my life apart! I was preyed on at a grocery store WITH my children in tow. Promises of lower bills, some sign up bonus (I never seen surprise, surprise), and a ease of cancelation if i wasnt satisfied. Then my 1st bill comes in over $1100 you are seeing that right over a Grand for ONE MONTH. The riders alone was almost $900, they totally scammed me in a way i was not expecting! Now im sitting on a disconnect in less than 2weels for almost $4000. I told the women from the company i was financially struggling an i could not afford my bills to get any higher. They assured me over an over again it not only would SAVE me money but also would make it easy to conduct business when I had a issue. Well I have a issue an ive called both my parent company an just energy an I keep being "disconnected". It feels more like nobody is willing to admit this is a total scam! They have ruined my life an my children's there is absolutely no way i can find the money for this. I CAN NOT pay this bill as it sits. So It will be shut off. How can they come into poverty stricken areas an take unexpecting, vulnerable people up top like this? How is this not illegal? I want someone to answer for this to me but i bet nobody will step up! I suspect not one of them care at all, an will sleep just fine at night! Your all evil money hungry people and It is disgusting you take people for a ride like this! Someone should investigate this company now! Do NOT fall For this!

Don't sign up!!

I recently returned from a trip and noticed my utility bills were unusually high, prompting me to contact Just Energy for clarification. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. When I called customer service, I was informed that they automatically renewed my contract because I never returned a form they supposedly sent out. Instead of addressing my concerns, the representative seemed more interested in upselling additional services that I had no interest in. I pressed for an explanation regarding my exorbitant bill, especially since my home had been vacant for months. Regrettably, the response was vague and unhelpful. It seemed like the representative didn't have the answers I needed, which left me feeling frustrated and unheard. Overall, my experience with Just Energy has been disappointing. The lack of transparency and customer support makes me hesitant to recommend their services. It felt like a complete rip-off from start to finish, and I would advise potential customers to think twice before signing up with them.

I have not lived in Alberta or had a…

I have not lived in Alberta or had a Just Energy account for over 8 years. Out of nowhere, I’m now receiving repeated calls about an unpaid bill that has nothing to do with me. This is extremely frustrating, inaccurate, and disruptive. If this company cannot maintain accurate records, they should not be harassing people for debts that don’t exist.

Taken Advantage of under Sam's Club roof of Trust

I recently discovered I would be charged $175 for early disconnect fee by Just Energy Account #: 7494021 on June 24 2025. I was surprised by this fee. The fee was for early disconnect of their service that I was told I agreed to a 2 year contract over the phone in Sept. of 2024 to end Sept. 2026. Number one why would I call them when I had power to my home. Number two why agree to a 2 year contract over the phone I had no incentive or motivation to do so.
I sent a certified letter to Angela Brock VP of Member Services & Solutions (that job title what a joke in my case there was no solution). I received a weak unclear letter response from Walmart to call them with a reference number to a call center that had absolutely nothing of value to offer other than "Call Just Engery and talk to them again"!

If I could give ZERO stars, I would!

Just Energy is hands down the most deceptive, unethical, and predatory utility company I've ever encountered. They roped me in with a "competitive" commodity contract and a $50 Sam's Club gift card, promising I'd be getting the best rate on the market. It sounded like a win-win. Spoiler alert: it was a lose-lose.

Despite their claims, I never received a single notice about a contract renewal, no mail, no follow-up calls, and nothing via email, even though I was allegedly "subscribed" to their promotional communications. I checked. I received three emails total - all unrelated to contract terms and all before this supposed renewal took place.

Let's entertain their theory: maybe, just maybe, both mailed renewals were stolen from my mailbox (despite nothing else ever going missing), and all their emails magically went to spam. Fine. But not even a phone call? Not one courtesy attempt to confirm whether I intended to renew a contract that would TRIPLE my rate?

Yes : TRIPLE! Consumers Energy currently charges $3.41. We've been stuck paying $9+ for over a year.

We assumed our higher winter bill was due to seasonal use or a small home addition, a mistake that cost us thousands before we realized the truth. By the time we connected the dots, it was too late, and Just Energy? Not even remotely apologetic.

And don't expect local customer service. You'll be routed to a call center overseas where no one is empowered to help. This entire operation is built on misleading contracts, zero transparency, and a total lack of accountability.

Avoid Just Energy at all costs. Shame on Sam's Club for allowing them to con their customers! This isn't just poor service, it's a scam disguised as a utility provider.

Just Energy is one of the worst…

Just Energy is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. They rely on lies, deception, and bad faith marketing.

Their representatives at Sam’s Club told me that my monthly bill, which usually ranges between $80 and $120, would be reduced by 50%, and that I would receive a $150 credit to cover cancellation fees, just by sending my last bill. They also assured me it wouldn’t be a problem even though the previous contract was under my wife’s name.

But everything changed after I signed up:
• They later demanded a marriage certificate to qualify for the credit, which was never mentioned upfront.
• My first bill came to $194, much higher than what I was paying before.
• They promised that nighttime usage would be free, but in reality, they charged me 33 cents per kilowatt-hour for night usage!
• Even after subtracting the nighttime charges, my bill was still $194, which is ridiculously high compared to my previous bills between $80 and $120.

They are not just dishonest—they are scammers who exploit customers with lies and manipulation.

I strongly advise against doing business with Just Energy under any circumstances.

It’s a Scam Don’t sign up. They told me free nights and no contract but my second month bill came out to be $750. That’s insane. Whatever you do don’t sign up. They should go out of business.

Abysmal service

April 23 2025 - signed up for JustEnergy. Was told they would call and cancel my Reliant account for me.
April 26 2025 - reviewed JustEnergy contract and noticed the wrong address was on it. No big deal, I called and had them fix it
May 20 2025 - received an email that the old (incorrect) address had its service switched back to their provider.
May 23 2025 - received a bill from JustEnergy for $36.10 - confused, I checked my Reliant account and sure enough, it was still active. JustEnergy has my account as no longer active, so I can't login. I call customer service and I am told that "my JustEnergy service was turned on for 2 days and then JustEnergy was contacted by my service provider and told to cancel as I was a customer of a different provider." Then, JustEnergy cancelled my service.

I received zero communication about any of this.

They are still expecting me to pay the $36 for the 2 days of service that I never actually received at my correct address.

Incompetent is too soft a word to describe this company.

Terrible company

Terrible company ! They don't update your bill when you make a payment and overseas bill collectors call and harass you despite paying your bill. Online bill portal is hard to navigate and doesn't show recent payments. Steer clear !

Scammers.

Scammers.

We signed up with Just Energy after hearing their sales pitch at a Sam's Club. They ended up charging us double what our previous company had, lied to us about it, and always seemed like they were just trying to get us off the phone.

After the first month we went back to our old energy company, and after doing some research and reading reviews canceled the credit card we used to pay Just Energy because so many people are stating they'll charge you anyway as long as they have that info. They've since been trying to call us all the time, sent e-mails, etc and we've just been blocking the numbers and marking the e-mails as spam and such.

The straw that broke the camel's back was Saturday. We were alerted to a line of credit that was opened without our permission trying to charge us for the past few months all at once and labeling it as delinquent payments. Tanked our credit score, and we had to wait until today to call the credit companies and sort this out. We told them everything, provided receipts, and said we want it removed from our credit history. We're also going to be contacting law enforcement to see what they can do about this because enough is enough.

Read reviews across all the major websites and see for yourself how bad people are reporting this place as. And if you see their reps in stores don't talk to them, and if they're coming door to door in your neighborhood ignore them - and call the cops for trespassing if they're insistent and won't leave as I've seen a few reviews state.

Edit for the reply; this is a generic copy/paste reply trying to get more information out of people to continue to scam them. We no longer have an account with Just Energy to give information about, and I am absolutely not giving them our new numbers and our names so they can continue to harass us.

I closed my account with just energy 1…

I closed my account with just energy 1 year ago paid everything,and because of an error or mistake on their system it showed that I owe them $194 even that I have a email from the company that my account is closed and paid off, nobody try to fix it and they just sent these amount the a collection.

Was disconnected for no reason on Saturday their office is closed on weekends...so I called another company and got it turned back on...now just energy wants an early termination fee of $175...they disconnected me..their mistake

Bad service for solar

They did not put me on the plan I requested and did not credit me or buy back my solar generation leading to me paying a regualr electric bill although I’ve had solar for 1 and half years and won’t give me any credit for all that wasted energy and time

Poor customer service, punished for card fraud

Moved to this energy company in August after a recommendation from a friend and so far I have had no issues at all. However, I was recently a victim of credit card fraud where I lost quite a bit of money and so my card was cancelled. This then meant my Autopay was not successfully taken, however the minute I was notified of this I paid immediately. Just Energy also confirmed that they could see my card had been cancelled due to fraud. However, despite this, I was still charged a $20 late payment fee. My account shows that no payments have ever been missed. You would think that there would be certain circumstances and contexts where a late payment fee is not issued. As it seems I have been penalised further for having my credit card cloned which was obviously an upsetting experience to go through and completely out of my control. Customer service hasn't exactly been great regarding this matter. Currently wouldn't reccommend to anyone and will be moving companies as soon as my contract is up.
