God forbid you need something done on a reasonable timeline.
Our mortgage was sold to Lakeview Loan Servicing in Q4 of 2025. Our home burned down the following May. We got our insurance settlement but it wasn't enough to rebuild or pay off the mortgage. We sent in the check to pay down the balance so we wouldn't have payments on a home we could no longer live in. By end of July, we got an offer to buy our property as-is—enough to finish off the mortgage with some money left over. But when we checked on the insurance payment, we discovered it had been put in a second escrow account for repairs instead of being applied to our principal balance as we had requested. We were stonewalled by customer service every time we called. Four weeks later, we finally got an agent that told us that we could write a letter asking to have the funds applied to the principal. Two weeks later, they denied our request and told us we'd have to pay down the principal until the settlement covered the remainder—but no one would tell us what to pay or how to calculate it. We had to guess. We made a payment, only to find out a week later that it was not sufficient. We recalculated, made our best guess again, and tried once more. Again it was going to take 1-2 weeks for the request to go through. After 2 weeks we were told by the MANAGEMENT company that everything was in order but the LENDER hadn't authorized releasing OUR insurance settlement. We were told there was no way to contact our lender or expedite—we just had to wait. That's right we had NEVER actually spoken to anyone that worked for our lender. Another week passed, and this morning the balance on the website finally showed $0.00. We called again, and now we're being told it'll take another 2-3 weeks for discharge paperwork. That's 12-13 WEEKS from when we sent in the check to them finally doing what we asked. Something with real customer service could have been done in 1-2 DAYS at most.

It was a very difficult process if you’re not computer savvy. And I didn’tget much help from my loan officer. Never got responses from him on my emails or phone calls with questions that is help team could answer. So I wasn’t real happy with the way you had to apply for this loan.
