We recently had a full heating system renovation completed by Libtek, and we couldn't be happier with the results! Alex and the team installed a Kronoterm Versi Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP), a Heat Geek 300L hot water cylinder, and a castellated wet underfloor heating (UFH) system throughout our entire home (both upstairs and downstairs).

From the start, Libtek went above and beyond. Navigating a large project with high stakes is stressful, but Alex was always available to answer our questions—not just about the heating, but also regarding hot & cold plumbing, MVHR, solar, and insulation. That holistic advice was hugely valuable to us. They also handled all the paperwork for the £7,500 government grant, which made the process seamless.

Since the installation, the aftercare has been exceptional. The team has visited multiple times to walk us through the system, and their ability to support us remotely has been a game-changer for fine-tuning the settings. The house is now consistently warm, and the system runs efficiently and incredibly quietly—you can barely hear it inside or out!

If you are looking for a company that truly cares about getting it right, I highly recommend Libtek.

Having spent some time researching heat pumps I found Libtek on HeatPumpMonitor.org and I was pleased to find they service North London.

Libtek are one of very few installers who have a large volume of installs which facilitate public scrutiny of their performance data - 40+ installs of which 14 are currently >365 days and across many different heat pump brands. For me this spoke to their experience, confidence and credibility such that I was happy to wait for their availability to see their design.

Having performed my own research and paid for a few different heat loss surveys I had a vague idea of what to expect, and the survey also provides a good opportunity to meet the installer, build an understanding of the company and therefore who your longer-term servicing relationship will be with.

Alex is an excellent heating engineer and is very passionate about his specialism and squeezing efficiencies.

My installation wasn't simple with the 1900s house being a terraced so all of the materials and trenching had to be taken through. That's not an easy exercise when the heat pump is 130 kilos!

The wider team - Gary, Brad, Nick, Kris, Tom and Ty - were all professional and easy to speak to. The house was left tidy and I was kept informed of expectations all the way through the installation.

For those considering Libtek, the team has depth across multiple brands while still maintaining high efficiencies thus demonstrating their heat engineering is sound with strong post-install support. This should mean your heating investment travels well over the life of the materials.

The biggest endorsement I can provide is Libtek are already scheduled to complete an installation at my parents’ place in a couple of weeks.

Very happy to give Libtek a 5 star review. We installed a heat pump as part of a total refurbishment. Alex saved us when we were done over by the first heat pump company who expected us to complete the second fix and then wait 3 months before the came to do a final install. Which would have left us living in the house with no hot water or heating for weeks. Libtek were recommended by our plumber and were able to fit us in and take over the installation, for which we were hugely grateful. There were a teething issues at first, but Alex was very responsive and the system works brilliantly now.

Update below: I got harassed by the business owner for posting this review.

Summary: Unresponsive time wasters! Slow response to emails, schedule meetings that they are unable to attend, provide conflicting information as to why, and finally cancel without notice.

A timeline of my interaction with Libtek:

Friday, 14/11 at 10 am, Heat Geek assigns Libtek as our contractors and asks them to contact me to arrange the £250 design consultation.

Monday, 17/11 at 3:40 pm. Not having received a message from them, I reach out and provide times that I'm available.

Tuesday, 18/11 at 8:50 am. I give them a call and am told that they were "just going to call me" but that they needed to check the schedule. I receive a call back 40 minutes later and am told that the engineer will visit between 9 to 11 am on Thursday, unless they get called away for an emergency service. So far, so good.

Thursday, 20/11 at 9:25 am. I call to check where the engineer is and am told by staff in the office that they were "just about to call me" and that the engineer is attending an emergency service. When I express my disappointment with the lack of notice and their slow response in contacting me from the outset, I am told that the engineer was meant to arrive at any point between 9-11 and so the back office didn't feel the need to contact me before they had identified a new date for the visit. Fine, a misunderstanding, though I would expect somebody who schedules appointments to be more precise in their language. The staff member suggests that I should contact Heat Geek to request another contractor - I decline as I don't want to go through the whole process again. We schedule another appointment for Friday, 9-11 am. I reschedule work to stay at home that day.

Thursday, 20/11 at 8:50 pm I receive a message from Heat Geek that I've been assigned a contractor (not Libtek). I am confused, as I still expect Libtek to attend the appointment.

Friday, 21/11 at 9:18 am I receive the following message: "I’m not sure whether Heat Geek contacted you yesterday and I was at a show all day so just emailing to make sure you’re aware we won’t be attending today and unfortunately we can’t help with your project."

I am extremely disappointed by this unprofessional behaviour from Libtek staff. As the contractor stated that he was at a "show all day" on Thursday makes me wonder why the staff member on the phone 1) scheduled the design consultation for that day and 2) claimed that the contractor was attending an emergency repair. However, the worst is that they cancelled the whole consultation with Heat Geek and only informed me the next day, at the time of the appointment. I had arranged to work from home that day on the assumption that the engineer would attend.

Edited to add: About 45 minutes after posting my review, I received a call from the owner, opening the conversation with: "Are you happy now that you've given us a one star review?". We then had a ten minute conversation, where he accused me of being impatient and knowing nothing yet damaging his business. When I got frustrated by his harassment, he then stated that I was extremely unpleasant to talk to. I asked him repeatedly whether there were any factually incorrect statements in my review and he said no.

The most important thing when fitting a heat pump is that the person doing it knows and understands what they are doing. Alex is heat geek qualified and very knowledgeable on how to fit and operate the pump. All the engineers who work for him are thorough, polite and tidy. We are extremely happy with the installation which took a week.

Our association with Libtek came about through enquiring about a heat pump installation through OVO, who in turn use Heat Geek as their project manager for the install and appoint a "local" company to manage the actual installation. Unfortunately the original appointment contractor had to withdraw for personal reasons, so Libtek and Alex stepped up to fill the breach. Always tricky taking over someone else's project, however Alex was very professional in his approach and after us agreeing on a few tweaks to the original plan it all went ahead. The team from Libtek were really excellent and kept us informed of each step of the process along the way. The site for the new water cylinder is in a not easy to reach place due to previous extension work in our house, but the Libtek guys were able to complete the install in a very professional manner. The external pipe work from the pump to the cylinder had to be fixed to our extension side wall which required access from our neighbours garden. Our neighbours commented that the two lads assigned to the task were very polite and considerate which was also our assessment of all the team members we came into contact with. The removal of old radiators and fixing of new ones was all carried out with minimal disruption and positioned to take account of the existing decor. All rubbish, pallets and packaging were removed by the end of the installation. We would highly recommend Libtek and Alex to undertake similar work due to their professionalism and commitment to getting the job done on a timely basis.

I recommend Libtek unreservedly. Alex is a very smart, personable and helpful professional who installed our system (5kw Arotherm) in about a week. It's too big an investment to leave to chance, and Libtek were recommended by a friend (whose five star review also appears on this page). I'm sure that otherwise very competent plumbers would struggle to optimise the performance of these systems without the necessary training and plenty of experience and I'm sure we're saving as much money on our bills as is possible. The house is always warm.

I approached Libtek unsure of how I could replace an ancient gas boiler that was close to the end of its life and adapt my 1930s semi to benefit from the power from my solar panels. Alex visited and made many innovative suggestions whilst listening to my requirements. I am very happy with the air pump heating system with a Thermino heat battery for the hot water. The heat pump is above the garage roof and the controls and heat battery in the cupboard that had previously held the hot water tank. The system is working well, and I like having the house at constant temperature. This was a major project, as all the radiators were replaced, an in addition I wanted an electric towel rail and induction hob installed. Alex and his team worked effectively together and were very considerate, reliable and hard-working and I could work from home and leave them working in the house. The work was done well, including removing the redundant tanks and gas piping and covering up the holes etc. The team coped with a few hiccups, such as replacing an old mixer tap that started leaking with the higher pressure. Alex has been very good at consulting during the planning and execution, and dealing with the paperwork. I am extremely pleased that I chose Libtek.

First Class Experience with Alex and the Team at Libtek. I’d been looking to get an ASHP (Air Source Heat Pump) installed as we have Solar Panels + Battery and drive EV’s. Libtek was recommended to me by a good friend of mine. With all works we get done I always obtain multiple quotes. Alex gave great advice and showed us all the options. I thought I’d give Octopus a go too for a survey and quote too. Their advice was terrible as the installer said I would need 75mm surface pipes installed and to move walls! Needless to say I decided to go with Libtek and I’m glad I did. Alex was excellent at communicating and kept us updated with any changes. During the installation there were a few curve balls (unexpected challenges) but he told us and overcame them with no problems. The team have great attention to detail and this was really appreciated. For example the old gas flue needed taking out and new bricks to seal up the hole. Alex found the right colour bricks and sealed it up nicely. We purposely had the Viessman Heat Pump installed over the Summer so we wouldn’t need the central heating and there was no disruption with the hot water as the immersion heater on the tank was used during the works. The installation took around 10 days, and I’m am very pleased with the result. I’m looking forward to seeing how the new central heating system handles the U.K. winter, but I’m very confident it will do it well - and even if there are any issues I know Alex will look after us. We would definitely recommend Libtek.

From the start looking at our house for the heat pump to the end with a successful install Libtek have been amazing. Alex had great comms answered all my many questions and was flexible to our suggestions. We had a slightly unusual install with our water tank location and there was not a problem that couldn't be solved. It was great that they are heat geek certified for that extra confidence. We had four separate surveys and every one over sized our pump which has been working well at 400% since April.

Alex is a trusted professional. He completed a total overhaul of our plumbing system when we purchased a new property in 2020. This included a change to a combi boiler and the replacement of all pipework throughout the house. Since then he has completed ad hoc plumbing work during our house renovation and carried out the annual boiler service. Alex is a great plumber, reliable and easily contactable. I recommend him to anyone who needs a plumber.

We had libtek replace our ground source heat pump. They were excellent from start to finish. They kept us informed every step. This was a complicated job, made easy by libtek. They even installed their own equipment to monitor the system and have made a few adjustments to make the system run efficiently as possible. We would like to thank Alex and the team, they spent 12hrs on a Friday installing the new pump and stayed to make sure it was running smoothly
5star service brilliant company

Alex Winters (Libtek) did a great job of installing a 5kW Vaillant Arothem+ heat pump at my house in St Albans. He is clearly an enthusiast for his work, and has a lot of expertise in the complex field of heat pumps. He went above and beyond to leave us with a tidy, efficient install. I'm delighted with the result. I would recommend him to anyone looking to install a heat pump.

Alex has been knowledgeable and diligent, designing a heating system that really makes the most of our heat pump. So far, the summer has been seamless, with a comfortable home and hot water available whenever needed, but I’m excited to see how it performs in the winter.

Very honest and reliable

Alex and his team did a fantastic job replacing the boiler at my property with a Vaillant heat pump and water cylinder. They were very professional and their work is extremely neat, especially the amazing job that they did fitting the water cylinder into an existing cupboard in the laundry room.

Driven by the cost of energy we have modernised our 120 year old house - including extensive insulation, solar panels and a battery.
Decided to try a heat pump, which has proved to be a very good decision. It was fitted by experts - it was a pleasure to watch them doing the job.
It looks good, is almost silent and saves money.
In the summer we use about 8Kwh per day for everything - mainly at night rates - I'm looking forward to Winter savings.
We no longer have any gas in the building.

Alex and his team installed our heat pump as part of a loft extension and refurbishment.
After a lot of research I approached Libtek who provided the heat loss survey and design of our new system. Alex discussed options to maximise the efficiency and talked through the best set up for our needs.
With any questions, Alex has been on hand to answer them and has sorted out any teething issues.
His price was competitive and he's always wanting to learn more about this tech and it's application in heating our homes. Happily recommend Libtek to others wanting to move away from gas.

Libtek provided great customer service and a neat and tidy install. They helped guide me through the mind set change of heating from gas to heating by heat pump. Although there were some delivery issues, Libtek made it seemless. They are a solutions orientated team who make it work for the customer and they are easy going and helpful. An excellent install which I have no doubt will reap its rewards.
