Great service

The guys have done big and small jobs for me. On the bigger, a full boiler replacement with new immersion tank. On the smaller level, fixing a leak. They're professional, kind and do a good job.

We booked an engineer to visit us about replacing our old toilet. Shortly afterwards we received a very acceptable quote and next week the new toilet was in place.
Excellent, efficient and recomendable.

Efficient boiler repairs.

Engineer (Chaz) arrived exactly at the time booked and correctly diagnosed the problem with our boiler. An appointment was made within a few days and the faulty part replaced. When minor adjustments needed to be made, these were again done quickly and efficiently. All in all fast, efficient service from polite and helpful engineers.

Misdiagnosis -Delays to tenants having heating & hotwater

Lime contacted in January 25 to diagnose an issue with no heating. Lime’s engineer visited and failed to ask all the necessary relevant questions before visiting the property and also during the site visit regarding the issue with no heating or hot water.
Lime’s engineer was quick to diagnose a faulty thermostat as it was flashing/bleeping and quoted for replacement. Stupidly we paid the full amount upfront for the work as their invoice failed to mention only 50% was required. Upon the engineer installing a new thermostat the issue was not resolved. The engineer then performed further checks to diagnose the problem, eventually reporting a failed central heating pump and a small leak to the backup immersion heater, which may have been leaking for some time as the carpet was heavily stained. Basically, the engineer failed to perform a thorough check before diagnosing correctly in the first instance. This caused unnecessary delays to tenants who had to go without heating and hot water for over a week in cold January not to mention the ongoing costs to us. Lime provided a non-competitive quote for the additional work, to replace the pump and replace the immersion heater. Lime's company director failed to accept any accountability/responsibility for the engineer’s initial misdiagnosis, or to offer any reimbursement for the incorrect diagnosis. Due to a loss in confidence with Lime heating, a second opinion from British Gas was sought , where a highly competitive quote was provided and they managed to completed the works providing the tenant with heating and hot water which took them just over and hour.
On a separate note, whilst British Gas were on site, we instructed them to perform an annual gas safety check to the boiler, they reported the flue from the boiler to the external wall was not sealed, this was identified as a risk and requested action as soon as possible, incidentally, Lime Heating failed to report this on their gas safety report having performed the gas safety check last year in 2024. Once again this has caused a total loss in confidence with Lime Heating.
It’s a real shame not to be able to support your local businesses, sadly on this occasion the more established national company provided, efficiency great job satisfaction and piece of mind at a lower cost.

Obviously we are very disappointed that you feel let down by our service but we disagree with several of the points you have raised.

Firstly, our engineer attended site, investigated and diagnosed an issue with your thermostat, tested the system and managed to heat the property temporarily – thereby showing the pump was operational at the time. We quoted the work and arranged for the repair promptly. Whilst carrying out the repair, it was found that the pump had unfortunately stopped working. While inspecting the pump, our engineer identified a very minor leak from the immersion. We understand the frustration of unexpected additional costs on your part, however we can only deal with the issues as they arise. All our costs have been clear and our email clearly states a 50% deposit is required, along with several ways to pay both the deposit and full balance.

Secondly, as clearly stated when we spoke, Gas Safe technical bulletin 152 specifies that a boiler flue is required to be sealed either internally or externally. As the property is not a ground floor flat, the external seal is difficult to check, though not impossible if not sealed internally. British Gas have not shown that the flue is not sealed on the outside, only commented that it is not sealed. We have requested proof which has not been provided by yourself or the British Gas engineer, and as such will continue to trust our team are performing the relevant checks.

As we discussed during our phone call before these reviews were posted, we cannot agree to demands for repayment under the threat of negative reviews across our platforms. We take all feedback seriously and always strive for fair resolutions, but we believe this review does not reflect the situation accurately. We hope that anyone reading this will see that we operate with integrity and always aim to provide the best service possible.

amazing professional service

we have used Lime Heating several times and on each occasion they have given us complete customer satisfaction. Unlike British Gas, Lime Heating are easy to communicate with, both online and by phone. Our appointment was made and completed on the same day.
Their engineer, Ross, was very professional, friendly, efficient and skilled.

I’ve used Lime before and cannot fault…

I’ve used Lime before and cannot fault them at all. Easy process for quotes and bookings. All the staff I’ve dealt with are knowledgable, polite and helpful.
Nothing is too much trouble for them.
I would recommend them to anyone who wants a trustworthy company to do work for them

Friendly & helpful service

Shaz came to service our boiler. Very friendly service and gave great advice on how to keep our radiators balanced. Very thorough job and would highly recommend anyone looking for a good, honest heating company at a very reasonable price. Thanks!

Great service from people I can trust

Great service from people I can trust. Just waiting for the service plans to be available and then we'll be leaving BG who like HomeServe have told us they can't cover our boiler as they can't get parts. Lime Heating showed me that they can very easily and unlike the others didn't try to scare us into getting a new boiler. Finally, heating and plumbing are sorted for good. One less thing to have to worry about.
