What is everyone talking about? I was so optimistic and prepared ordered and paid their higher than normal router price for the experience. Well it's been awful after giving it over 6 months and many calls to customer service. 2k sf home nothing fancy. Network drops constantly with huge lag often. My family constantly complains to me like I'm the IT dept at work. Worst of all they have no dashboard or network management tools worth anything. The app is a complete joke and primitive. When I called to see how I can change the network channel I had to have them do something behind the scenes because it's not available to the user. This has been a horrible experience and I have been asking for my money back and to return this horrible piece of junk. Glad it's works for everyone else somehow.

I work in the tech field as a trainer, and every time I see a product that advertises how great it is, I immediately begin with doubt. Not applicable with Luma. I received my starter kit and actually put off setting them up until I knew I had several hours of free time to inevitably troubleshoot what I assumed would be a typically challenging experience. I set the whole thing up in 15 minutes and it hasn't so much as blinked since, including after a brown-out power outage. The user interface is well designed, makes it easy to add wifi devices in a secure manner, assign them to specific users in the house, pause and filter the internet, and identify security threats by device I have teenagers and they don't always exercise sound judgement in my absence, so when the app has identified a threat on one of their devices, it's a teachable moment. I can't say enough great things about my Luma setup. A great product that does EXACTLY what is says it will, and I am a fan!

The box the Cable company provided that includes Wi-Fi access gave terrible speeds in my upstairs floor and certain other places, often 10% or less speeds throughout rest of the house. I bought the 3 Luma devices and now I'm getting at or near speeds throughout. Easy to setup and consistent coverage.

I've got a Mac network at home (and I work from home), so I was transitioning from a Airport Extreme router with 2 Airport Express extenders.

Pros: The actual WIFI access throughout the house has improved, which is great. The Luma app also has great system-wide parental controls, which are very convenient to use, and I prefer them to the Mac's built-in OS controls. They have also recently added custom DNS features, which doesn't impact everyone but is important to many.

Cons: With my Airport Extreme/Express setup, I had a network shared volume that connected via USB to the main router which we all could access anytime we wanted. Unfortunately, while each Luma device does have a USB port, they do not function in the same way. I'm hopeful that they will be able to enable that as a function through a firmware update at some point. The Airport Express also had an audio jack (which we used for external speakers) that the Luma does not have.

troubleshooting failed and these Lumas were replaced without question ( I did not even Buy them on their site initially !!)

I'm 61 and it was very easy to setup (needed to reset modem by removing battery also, not just unplugging it) and the app was easy to follow. I live in a 1950sqft single story home. The modem is in the room addition so it has to go through a former 'outside' wall. The only router that would work is Netgear and it was ok but needed an upgrade so I decided to give this a try. Wow. Not only in the far side of the house but outside as well. For not much more $ than a stronger single router this is the way to go for sure! Also the app can get any updates - can't do that with a single router.

I wanted to go cheap and purchased a wifi booster but later found out that it somewhat extended reach but cut the signal strength from super fast to nearly non existent. I went to Best buy and consulted with professional and I was schooled. I was instructed that Luma would fix my problem and the sales professional taught me the ins and outs of Luma. I was hesitant at first because of the price, it's not cheap. I went ahead and took his professional advice and I AM THE HAPPIEST CUSTOMER EVER!. This is the GREATEST gadget ever! I RECOMMEND this to all my friends and family.

I can now connect in any room from house. Expensive but worth it

Our house is multi-story - wifi never worked properly and even with less expensive other brands still only supported one maybe two devices. From unpacking to finished installation was maybe 15 minutes. Works flawlessly and have had installed for over 6 months now. iPads, laptops PC's, TV's, phones, everything works as it should now. Worth every penny.

No more wi-fi problems! After years of wi-fi problems, LUMA just solved everything. I'm REALLY happy with this product and highly recommend it.

One of the best tech gadgets I've ever purchased. I constantly was having dropped connections until I put this in my house. It's been a couple months and the system has been flawless. High speeds and no drops at all.

I deployed Luma in a loft environment in which I was getting miserable throughput using a standard well-known brand router to connect a number of devices. After deploying Luma I experienced a three fold increase - no exaggeration - in speed 90 meg down vs. the 28 meg down of the standard router. Setup was a snap with the smartphone app. I'm a believer.

I bought this system for my four cabins so I could pay for only one internet connection. It is working great so far and I'm happy with thie product.

We have three Lumas that FINALLY give us reliable wifi throughout our 1800 sf old brick apartment. Prior to setting up the Lumas we had wifi in a 5-foot radius from the router, and we were ALWAYS paying extra data charges. I love these little devices!!

We struggled for years and I spend more time than I wanted to manage our network. It is so nice to use an app on my phone from anywhere. The whole house is covered now.

Very discrete but very powerful little units. Great for a multi level house. No dead spaces anymore. I would highly recommend this product.

I was a big fan of Netgear but when my old Netgear router finally died, I saw the Luma and decided to give them a try--I was not disappointed! Super easy to set up through the app and works great! You do have to make one of them your "main" router, and then the others would act as extenders/repeaters. We have 2 for our 1 story home but I might pick up a 3rd for the front of the house where my wife's craft room is. Very happy with the Luma system!

I was searching for a product to enhance my Wifi System in my house. I stumbled upon The Luma system but I live in Canada. Was concerned with shipping so I bought it from a reseller in Canada. THEY SHIPPED ME A USED SYSTEM. Luma Tech support readily identified the problem and offer to replace the troubled pod if it continues to have issues. I was talking to tech support and was disconnected, they called me back to make sure everything was good to go.

They even called back a week later to ensure I was satisfied and everything was good to go.

Once setup you can easily manage all you online devices from your cell phone. You can even set times to allow or restricted access.

I LOVE IT. (Snice this was install I have not heard that I can get on the network from the wife or daughter)

I purchased the Luma system so that I could reap the benefits of a mesh wifi system. Prior to having this amazing little system I had 4 Apple Airport Extremes within my home. I had originally thought they were providing me the same capability when it came to the network bandwidth, but I couldn't use my steam link or stream my video games to my laptop wirelessly. When I upgraded to the new AppleTV I found that sometimes even plex was having issues with the bandwidth. I began troubleshooting and found that the WiFi signal wasn't as good as I thought and the devices wouldn't connect as I figured they would. After doing a lot of research I chose Luma based on the numerous positive reviews, as well as the features that the system had. I purchased a 3 pack of Lumas from amazon and set them up as soon as they arrived. Now I wish I could tell you they all 3 worked right out of the box however 1 did not. I contacted their support as soon as I began having trouble with the setup and sure enough I had a failed Luma. The support department sent me another Luma and it arrived within 2 days, it worked like a champ and now I have amazing WiFi in my 3 story home without any dead zones. I can stream games via Steam and us Plex in 1080P with out any hiccups, we even get the benefit of having malware security on the network. The parental controls are super simple and easy to use, I set bedtimes for all of our kids complete with content restrictions for them. I couldn't imagine using any other system now.

great tech. suffered from dead wifi areas in my house for a long time - great coverage now. Also was putting off running a cable for one device that didn't support wifi - the port on the hub solved that. The network port on the hub even solved a problem I didn't realize I had (would have been another cable run). In place for a couple months now ... the only "issue" was one hub that needed to be reset.
