Memorygram is an excellent website and a useful tool for writing a legacy book. However, due to changing personal circumstances, I decided I would request the 7 day refund option and re-subscribe at a later date.
Customer support replied to my request within a few hours and my refund was processed the same day.
Thank you Memorygram.

UPDATE: - After posting my original 1* rating, I am editing my Review. I received a phone call from one of the Founders (Paul) who was able to resolve my problems withing 10 minutes. He provided some addtional information and offered an addtional copy of the book as an apology for the trouble. I appreciate his time and effort and do think this is a wonderful product. The company may need a little additional training for the Customer Service staff, however. Overall, I would recommend this to others and believe my experience was an anomaly.

Edited Original Post - I received this as a Mother's Day gift a few weeks ago. I logged in the first week and devoted over 6 hours over a period of 3 days in writing the first story, then my account disappeared. All of my profile information, the pending questions my children set up for me to respond to and my completed story. I've contacted Customer Service by email 4 different times. The first 2 times I recieved comments saying they were "escalating" or they will provide a "full accounting". They give the impression of being AI generated responses. The next 2 emails have gone unanswered. Multiple calls have reached a busy signal and one went through to a voicemail who is identified as "This Google Subscriber" (not even an identification of the company).

The rest of the Original Review has been removed due to the extraordinary efforts to resolve my issue.

Update: Staff has issued me a refund and offered to switch the current membership to a new family member. They were very communicative and wanted to make things right.

Grandmother passed about 1 month into the purchase - we hadn't been able to answer a single question, let alone print any physical copy.

I asked for a refund, if they needed evidence, or anything, and they refused.

I would have figured a company in this "area" would be better suited to dealing with these situations.

Edit: to their response below - I have responded to their emails. They told me it is within their policy to issue a refund in this situation. Yet, they have not issued a refund to me. They want me to change or delete my review - I said, I would consider that if they issued the refund to me.

One of the coolest things I have come across. I signed up with my mother, and it’s been such a great experience going through everything. The whole process has been very easy, and I couldn’t recommend more!

I tried to order the service. It is the only one I found that is located in the US,and I liked their offerings. But I had trouble with the final step. I emailed and got an answer, but still couldn't get it to work.

I emailed them later outlining the problem and asked for a refund.
I promptly received an apology and refund. I was so impressed with their quick action.
I will definitely use this company again.

Update after printing the book (October 2025):
I’ve decided to change my review to 1 star, in the hope that it helps others considering this product. I still think the concept behind Memorygeam is truly wonderful — the idea of capturing family stories and memories in a printed book is so meaningful. However, the current user experience makes it very difficult to achieve the high-quality result I was hoping for.

The website, though undergoing some updates, remains slow and not very intuitive to use. The process of creating and printing the book is unfortunately frustrating and leaves a lot to be desired. If you’re very comfortable with technology and willing to spend quite a bit of time checking and adjusting every detail, you might still be able to get a nice finished product. But for most users, the experience will likely be challenging and time-consuming.

About my book:
I do acknowledge that I missed some mistakes during my initial editing and ordering process using the provided PDF preview. That said, I also expected that overlooking a few small details wouldn’t result in such significant layout problems or poor print outcomes, especially since the editing tools are fairly limited. I think it’s a poor user experience that issues like overlapping text, cut-off captions, or photos running off the page are even possible. It would be a big improvement if the system simply prevented those types of errors automatically, rather than placing the full responsibility on customers to detect and correct them.

Initial review:
The idea of Memorygeam is truly amazing. I love receiving written stories from my parents. However, the user experience of this product is not great. I have provided my feedback to the company and they have been very responsive and explained that there are many great improvements being worked on. I'm really looking forward to benefiting from these improvements as I think this will improve the value for money spent. I also appreciated the prompt response and dedication to improvement. I am changing my review from 1 star to 3 and hope to increase it in the near future.

My wife and I each received a Memory Gram from our grandchildren this past Christmas. It has been a wonderful experience to recall significant times in our lives to share with the family. I may be writing too much as I understand there is a limit of 450 pages. I am not sure how to judge how many questions I can answer. The option of adding four photos per story is also a great idea. The questions do not have to be mine. If I prefer a different question or story, I am free to be creative. I can’t wait to see my copy next Christmas!

The book looks great however there are several blank pages throughout the book , not sure why but not a big deal!
Deducting a star only because it was a little frustrating to have to go back to the home page to edit each individual page and make changes (when final editing took place) …. each time I left, I lost all of the edits I made on the outer cover of the book and I would have to redo the title of the book, the picture, etc. each time I had to edit mistakes which was probably 15-20 times 😞…. it also would’ve been nice to actually flip the pages and see how the pages would look in the book. I would’ve done things a little differently if I could’ve seen how it would look in the printed book but it doesn’t allow you to do that on the website.

Memorygram has allowed me and my 89.5 year young dad to write his memoir at his pace! My dad is enjoying writing his book (something he's always wanted to do) with his oldest daughter and son. We have had a few setbacks with illness, losses, and Covid as some others have too. I like that there has been no pressure to finish our book by a certain time!!! My dad has needed more time. He has Dementia now and some days he just isn't ready to think about the past. I really like that there is NO pressure to finish by a certain date. Dad and I will complete his book in 2024 before his 90th birthday!

Life has gotten in the way of moving this along as I had hoped, but I'm not going to give up. I have written and published two memoirs of my own. One covers my first 16 years; the second covers the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s; and I'm currently working on my third and last, which will cover from age 50 to the present (I am now 80). I know how much effort and work goes into writing one's own memoir. It is extremely rewarding, but more work than most people will commit to. So, when I discovered Memorygram as an option, I thought of it as a way for a dear friend of mine to provide his life story without all the work of doing it by himself. So, I signed up for myself to check it out. When I found it to be an excellent way for the average person to create his/her memoir, I signed up my dear friend. We are doing our books separately, of course, but we talk to each other about each aspect. We are having a great time. The holidays have slowed us down, but we are committed to completing our Memorygram books in 2024.

Today I received the 4 copies of the book that I created with the very helpful questions. I did push it a bit by having a question sent every day, the option for one a week seemed a bit slow for me, in hindsight I now suggest that would be a better choice. I can also say the support received was excellent, especially with the tracking of the books so close to Christmas, the good news, they arrived on the 22nd ! I am more than happy to recommend this experience to other users. 10/10
