This website presents itself as working with the NHS and giving you a fast and easy way to speak to a pharmacist and get a prescription for antibiotics for cystitis. But you do not get an actual prescription for antibiotics because it does not tie in with your NHS App app. You cannot go and pick up the prescription from your local pharmacy. You have to have it delivered with no guarantee of even next day delivery. If you need antibiotics, you would need to be starting them immediately. This is a ridiculous scenario so I am now left in pain and the antibiotics that may or may not turn up tomorrow!

We completely understand your concerns and appreciate why you were expecting to be able to collect a prescription from your local pharmacy. While we work with the NHS to provide remote consultations, any medication prescribed through our service is dispensed by our partner pharmacy and sent by delivery, rather than being issued as an NHS prescription that can be collected locally.

Our website explains how prescriptions are supplied through our service, but we're sorry if this wasn't clear or did not meet your expectations.

Our standard delivery aim is the next day and we appreciate that when you're experiencing difficult symptoms, waiting for treatment can be particularly challenging.

Convenient and reliable service

I love this service. Very convenient, very pleasant and friendly pharmacists with next day delivery of my prescription. Cannot fault this service.

my daughter just had a consultation…

my daughter just had a consultation with the pharmacist after a three day sore throat which has now resulted in large puss field lumps all over her tonsils. She doesn’t have a fever per se she was told to rinse with salt water. After my daughter questioned it was a superficial sore throat because of these puss filled lumps the pharmacist said to be honest I wouldn’t be able to provide you antibiotics because they would be delivered. So now I’m wondering whether he was avoiding the antibiotics because he knew the situation would be raised that he wouldn’t be able to provide them immediately. Heading over to a face-to-face pharmacy first consultation now. This is just a bit of a warning for anyone going to this service thinking that it is the NHS pharmacy first immediate treatment. Because they are unable to provide you any medication and it will be delivered and by the looks of it there’s huge delivery delay delays.

We appreciate why you might feel that way, and we'd like to reassure you that our pharmacists' prescribing decisions are always based on their clinical assessment and what they believe is the safest and most appropriate treatment. The availability or delivery of medication should not influence whether antibiotics are prescribed.

Our service slightly differs from the NHS Pharmacy First service available in community pharmacies, where medication can often be supplied immediately. If a prescription is issued through our service, it is dispensed and sent by delivery rather than being collected in person.

We're sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate your feedback. We hope your daughter feels better very soon.

2 star review due to delivery delays

Consultation and offered advice/issue of prescription good and would warrant a 4 star review, But use of delivery system bad - reviews indicate numerous occasions when delayed by delivery company. Yes it happened ot me. Suggestion for future you offer to send the prescription to a local chemist to enable same day collection

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we're very sorry that you experienced delays with your prescription, especially while you were in pain.

To clarify, your appointment took place on 7 July, and we dispatched your prescription to our courier partner the very same day so it could reach you as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, there was an unexpected issue on the courier's side, where the parcel missed the scheduled trailer. As a result, instead of being delivered on 8 July as planned, it arrived on 9 July.

We completely understand how frustrating this must have been, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.

To help prevent situations like this in the future, we've since switched to a different courier partner to provide a more reliable delivery service.

Regarding prescription collection, we appreciate the suggestion. It's something we're actively considering for the future. At the moment, we work with a network of partner pharmacies, so offering a collection service will take some time to implement, but it's certainly on our roadmap.

Fantastic from start to finish

I got an immediate online appointment. The pharmacist was helpful, knowledgeable and very kind. And the prescribed medicine arrived the next morning. Fantastic service from start to finish.

Impressed with the speed

Impressed with the speed I had a phonecall but not impressed with delivery time delivered to work while we were closed . Didn't get the medication till the Monday when I got back to work

Such a Great Service!!!

Had not heard about this service until today, and it is so great! I have mobility issues and find getting to my GP difficult. With this I had an appointment within 30 minutes and I didn’t need to leave the house! Highly recommend this if it’s for non urgent issues that can wait for a day or so (medication is sent out to you, by post)

Amazing

Lost antibiotics

I was prescribed antibiotics and advised that they would arrive the next day. DPD initially confirmed next day delivery. Then it changed to the following day. Then it just advised there was a problem. I contacted My Local Pharmacy who confirmed an issue with DPD and advised that they would cancel the order and resend for the next day. Again no delivery. I contacted My Local Pharmacy again. This time I was advised that I would need another consultation as too much time had now passed for a replacement. They booked a short notice appointment while I was on a business call. At this point I gave up as it will be 5 days since the initial prescription and I will consult my GP. It’s a great service when it works but when it goes wrong they do not seem to be able to rectify problems effectively.

To try and resolve the situation, our team arranged a short consultation with a pharmacist so that a replacement prescription could be issued and dispatched via a faster delivery method. Unfortunately, the timing wasn't convenient for you, and the appointment was cancelled as you chose to seek assistance from your GP instead.

We appreciate your feedback and thank you for holding us accountable. Experiences like yours help us identify where we can improve. As part of those improvements, we are transitioning to Royal Mail delivery services to help reduce the risk of similar issues occurring in the future. I want to write a complaint regarding…

I want to write a complaint regarding to get to see my Dr, who is Dr Gupta. I have to either wait 3 weeks for a triage, or 5 weeks face to face. It’s not write, I only want to see her as she knows all my ailments. Any other Dr does not read my notes at triage. I have to explain why I can’t have certain meds, they are giving me, that’s their job not mine. Dr Gupta is very thorough in all she does, and followed up with a call after a week to see how I’m getting on. To see your Dr should be made easier. Also this time I had to book to see her as 2 of my meds were stopped and given another, Dr Gupta had not authorised this, why would this happen without her knowledge, this should be looked into

Friendly pharmacist, caring support team

Friendly pharmacist, quick dispatch! Had an issue with DPD and they did not deliver same day, so I requested treatment from the local pharmacy instead and My Local Surgery were so apologetic and understanding, processing a swift refund and many well wishes for me to get better.

I’ve been waiting for my antibiotics…

I’ve been waiting for my antibiotics since Monday, June 15, and they still haven’t arrived as of today, Thursday, June 18. It’s absurd to have to wait so long to receive medicine that I need—I’m not taking it just for fun. I’ve tried to get in touch with them, but no one is helping me resolve the issue. I’d just like a refund so I can try to get the medication somewhere that can provide it more efficiently. DPD tells me it’s the pharmacy’s fault, and the pharmacy tells me it’s DPD’s responsibility. It’s absurd that when you’re sick and feeling unwell, you have to go through additional stress just to try to get medication you’ve already paid for.

This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we are genuinely sorry that your experience fell short of the high standards we set for ourselves.

To provide some clarification, your prescription was dispatched on the same day in good faith. Unfortunately, DPD encountered issues with the delivery despite the instructions that had been provided. While the delivery process itself was outside of our direct control, we fully appreciate that this does not change the inconvenience caused to you, and we are very sorry for the impact this had.

When you contacted our Customer Service team on the 18th, we discussed the available options with you, including arranging a replacement and processing a refund. We can confirm that the refund has now been processed. Please allow 1–2 working days for the funds to appear in your original payment method.

Once again, we would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment caused. We value your trust in us and are very sorry that we did not provide the experience you deserved on this occasion.
