Hmmmm.... I purchased two policies yesterday, now already regretting having done so.
I got this quote via money supermarket... which today I regret as by going direct I would have got £35 worth of nectar points (7000 points) ..... l got two emails on completion of purchase, which told me to register on pet portal... but when I tried i was told I needed to respond to another email yo confirm my account... I did not receive this email... so I rung the phone number to be told by automated message if I want customer service I need another number which they did supply via the message but I had no pen on me and I'm too slow at my age to tap it into the phone as it was given. I thought no problem l will just google sainsburys pet insurance customer service number! .... Oh no you won't, it took me forever to find it, the only number found was the one that told me to use a different one! ... l finally found the number....ON MONEY SUPERMARKET!!!! .... When I rang the number and told the agent their number is very hard to find... he told me I should have typed in PINNACLE pet insurance!!!!!.... Why the hell would I do that when it's a brand new policy???.... how would I ever know? .... another reason I am considering cancelling my new policies is that when selecting which day of the month I want them to take payment, I was informed that if it's less than 14 days from taking out the policy they would take two payments the following month... so I changed the date to allow for 15 days and yet they are taking TWO PAYMEMTS in 2 months time! A small issue but added to the other blunders, significantly annoying! I am going to study the policy with a finectooth comb, as having read a few reviews and my experience so far, I am not feeling at all confident about the cover they will provide. Be warned think twice before you buy!

Don't bother using these to insure your pets, they try every trick in the book to avoid paying out. Never claimed before but because I'd previously asked my vet during a check-up that my dog had itchy ears and the vets recorded this on his file it was deemed a 'pre-existing condition.' Don't use these con artists. Save your money.

Awful, enquired about my so called nectar points awards,1st to be told to wait,then told id missed the deadline to have them added. Raised a complaint, told ,theyre not honouring the points they promised when taking out a pet insurance policy . Reading reviews, lots of customers saying the same,avoid and go with pet plan for the same price x

So grateful to have this insurance! Has helped us cover a severely infected wound on my kitty that without this help I wouldn't have been able to afford his treatments myself. Their communications are spot on and I think the premium and excess is so reasonable for what they cover in return! So grateful it's been smooth and quick so far and having peace of mind that I can get him the help quickly without additional stress! Thank you Sainsbury's bank!!

I was with Sainsbury’s pet for many years and up until the age of 10 my cat had no claims. Then age 10 she developed IBD as a result of the stress of a new cat.. I have 3k per claim but I’ve just had to renew (because I’m part way through the claim and to leave would mean this becomes a pre existing condition and uncoverable) even though the costs for this condition are low at present (£20 per 6weeks) they have hiked my monthly fee by £15 .. a 150% increase. Stay away!

Sadly our Golden Retriever passed away at age 6, from lymphoma. It was a terrible experience and we still miss him now. Sainsbury's Pet Insurance were exceptional throughout a terrible experience. They paid all the claims we had without any issues at all. A couple of times I had to talk to customers services to check some things and every time they were kind, supportive and helpful. At this point they have a customer for life as we'll use them for all of our pet insurance going forward and would recommend them to anyone who asks.

After all the good reviews I am extremely disappointed in Sainsbury’s. After making a small claim for a grass seed removal they asked for access of my 5 year old cocker spaniel that is extremely active and healthy according to the vet on her annual check up. Since reviewing her history apparently eye issues and gastro problems are no longer covered! So she had a scratched eye over a year ago and a bad tummy 3 years ago!
There not long term pre disclosed medical issues but just normal illness!
Very very disappointing

Went through all of the long-winded questions and got to the last bit, the choice of type of Insurance three options, which has no clear guidance on what actually any of them mean. That’s when I gave up, so for me it’s rubbish.

My dog had to have bilateral TPLO in May - had to pay for operation as I hadn’t insured enough as have never used insurance. Anyway learnt my lesson and Sainsbury’s paid for the x-rays etc with no problem - will just wait to see how much the premium goes up in March. Would highly recommend but just ensure you have enough insurance.

Very good and professional dealing with our claim from start to finish.

The initial though and marketing was good, but in actuality what a failure an excuse for pounts on my nectar card and a hamper which I will never receive, don't bother.

Absolutely awful service, don't take pet insurance out with Sainsburys, especially with older animals all they do is look for ways not to pay .I am going to write to Martin Lewis about this .Terrible experience

Easy to claim online, no form filling. Paid promptly.

My claim could not have been simpler. Sainsbury's dealt directly with the vet and the money I paid to the vet was reimbursed to me in under a week (less the excess of course). Incredible service - well done Sainsbury's Pet Insurance!

Really easy to claim, I've never had to before. Once the vet had responded to their request for more information, my claim was accepted and paid. Thank you.

My veterinary practice issued a claim after my dog had treatment with them. I had confirmation the next day that the claim had been paid.

All I needed to do what gives my policy number to my vets and they dealt with everything.

So impressed and very different to other policies I have had in the past which has taken ages to settle fees.

Really recommend.
