I really wanted to like this collar as the design is great, it's so small and light weight compared to others but the actual tracking of the cat just isn't as good as tractive who I've used the last 3 years. The thing that really bothers me is you can't go live which is what I've been used to. There are modes you can switch the collar to depending on how often you want a location update which will determine the battery life but you can only switch modes if the collar is in the home station. Also to use the radio feature you need to connect it to your phones hot spot and make sure you have a charged power bank to allow the home station to go mobile. If the home station isn't plugged in then the collar is useless, as I discovered when my boyfriend accidentally unplugged it. I have to say though that customer support have been good with sending information and have been quick to reply, until I emailed asking to cancel my subscription, they seem to be taking their time replying now.

The collar has given us peace of mind and fascinating to see where our cat roams. It did take us a while to get set up but once sorted it's been brilliant and in the first week of use it allowed us to rescue our cat! Tatti is a 7yo cat who we recently adopted - she had been an outdoor barn cat but wanted a more pampered life. We were amazed to see how far she roamed and one time saw she had crossed the brook about half a mile from us and appeared to be having trouble getting back. We walked over the fields to approximately where she crossed the brook and called for a few minutes. We could see a narrow branch someone had placed over the stream and this must be where she crossed. She eventually appeared the other side of the water, mewing pathetically. It was very overgrown and couldn't entice her to the branch. So waded across and carried her to our side and then she walked home with us. We wouldn't have found her without the collar.

Absolutely DO NOT BUY!!

This collar is advertised as a light-weight GPS and radio tracker. The range of the homestation is said to be around a km, and battery life is said to last a few days depending on activity.

THE BIGGEST CONCERN IS YOU DON'T OWN THE COLLAR!!! Even after you buy the collar, if you purchase it on a month by month subscription as many of us do, as we can't afford the cost up front, YOU CANNOT CANCEL THE SUBSCRIPTION! You have to return the collar and all the hardware for the subscription to be cancelled, EVEN IF YOU PURCHASED THE COLLAR UPFRONT. I feel this is INCREDIBLY WRONG and should have been disclosed clearly. Also, the monthly subscription is very pricey compared to other brands too - 15 pounds a month!

Secondly, the radio range of this tracker in real life is ABYSMAL. It will barely go past your street because houses and trees and bushes affect the transmission. This was never stated by Pettracer as a warning before buying. You would need a completely open field to achieve even half the range. Reasonably expect the radio range to be around your road and maybe a half.

Thirdly, the collar doesn't transmit GPS positions without radio signal. So, if your cat is away from the radio range (which in real life is essentially your street) you will not know where she/he is until they return. The collar is supposed to be useful when the cats are lost so you can find them, but if you only see where they are when they're on your street, it's not much help is it? Furthermore, the mobile homestation won't be much help either, as the homestation requires at least a floor of elevation to work properly, and if it's on ground level when you're searching for your cat, it'll be of little help.

The app is consistently down and glitchy, and the collar needs updates as it sometimes stops switching modes, but you have to do them MANUALLY through downloading the update and uploaded it onto the collar firmware through another app. Very user unfriendly.

Sometimes the servers are down too, so you cannot see where your cat is. My cat has been outside a few times when they were down and it was incredibly scary, and it took a few hours to resolve.

Live mode drains the battery incredibly fast, but it is the only one that constantly updates. With all the other modes, they claim to update at regular intervals but they do not. They will sometimes update at the interval, and otherwise they don't.

The light and alarm are very weak, and can barely be seen or heard even at night. The safety buckle is incredibly hard to open so unsafe if your cat gets trapped.

Do not waste your money on this and make the same mistake I did. There are other lightweight collars in the market cheaper, and that work much much better.

The collar is lightweight and about as small as it could realistically be, which is a good thing because our cat's neck is tiny! Even with the reducer in place the strap is almost at its tightest. It fits well and doesn't irritate the cat.
I'm only 24 hours into using the collar but GPS results have been mixed at best so far. It's placed our cat out in the road when she was at the back of the back garden, and placed her 3 doors up the road when she was just outside our back door. Time will tell on this. The app is ok, does a decent job. The radio feature is good. Hopefully will never need to use it but I'm glad I have it. The only other thing I will say is that the reflective strips supplied as a paid-for addition do not stick. The first one came unstuck within hours. I'll update this review after more testing, with luck the GPS will be more reliable.

Both of the cat collars I purchased have stopped working within the 2 year warranty period but Petracer have replaced them free of charge on both occasions. You can rely on their guarantee. The support team were very helpful when their system wasn't working correctly and the flashing LED would not turn on when lost too. Thank you

The collar gives great peace of mind, and the customer service is absolutely 5 stars. Always quick to reply and extremely helpful.

Pettracer hat meine Nerven beruhigt und unseren Kater stolz gemacht! Er trägt das Band seit 3 Jahren und wenn ich es ihm anziehe nach dem aufladen, dann freut er sich jedes mal und marschiert stolz davon! Es gehört zu ihm und mir ist es eine Beruhigung, dass ich jederzeit weiss, wo sich mein wildes liebes Tier befindet! Nachdem meine verstorbene Katze mehr als 1 Woche in einer Garage eingesperrt war, habe ich mir das Halsband besorgt und möchte nie mehr darauf verzichten! Eine wunderbare Erfindung und Gestaltung! This is the best cat tracking solution I tested until now.

It allows to make a compromise between battery life and position update frequency according to your needs and in my case the battery lasts approximately one week. I used its mobile home station feature a couple of times to look for my cat when the collar got out of range : it works very well.

Lately I had a bug that was solved by support in a matter of hours with a single email detailing instructions on how to update the collar firmware.

Whilst this product didn’t work for my cat (as she is tiny) the product is exceptional.
I would also rate the customer service second to none. The team cannot do enough for you and go above and beyond expectations

The PetTracer collar works very well and we love it. Our indoor cat really wanted to be an outdoor cat so we relented and the PetTracer collar provides us with a peace of mind. We live in an area with a lot of wild life so the collar enables us to bring her indoors before nightfall. The support time were superbly responsive and helpful when we lost the collar. Highly recommended.

We have been using this collar for over. A year now. We are so impressed. It is so reassuring to know that we can find our cat Lily. It is also really helpful because you start to see a pattern for their movements. We agonised about whether Lily would be too small - she is only 3kg. To reassure anyone in the same position we have found with the inner padding added the collar fits perfectly and it’s very light weight. Customer service from the company was excellent we emailed for help setting up the base station and they were really helpful explaining what we needed to do.

We love our cat’s Pettracer collar and have been using it for about 1.5 years. It’s lightweight and has never bothered our cat, Luna. The collar gives us real peace of mind knowing her location. On one occasion, she was chased up a tall tree by three large dogs in someone’s garden and refused to come down. Without this collar, we’d have had no idea where she was - but thanks to it, we were able to find and rescue her. We normally charge it once a day while she’s sleeping indoors, but the battery can last for days if used carefully. I highly recommend Pettracer to all cat owners, it’s absolutely worth it.

I’ve recently purchased a petTracer tracker for my beloved cuddly feline. I had a couple of questions so I contacted petTracer and I must say their customer service is exemplary. In a very short time I had received a response with clear instructions on how to solve my problems. I’m very impressed.
The tracker works well and it’s so helpful knowing where puss is and where he’s been! He doesn’t seem bothered by it and the tracker is a good fit. So much better than other devices I’ve used to try and track his movements.
Would definitely recommend.

This tracker is a great product with not only GPS but radio tracking for when cats get inside sheds etc...also you can see when they're getting closer to home in real time due to the radio percentage change. But importantly, their help team are quickly responsive and have got me through anxious moments with tech advice I could follow and replaced the old collar that had a rare fault in its batteries. They are lightweight enough for my cat a Norwegian Forest) not to be troubled with it or try to get it off. I also fitted a catflap opener on mine with ease..plus an ID tag and bell with no worries to my cat. These are so much better than the previous cat trackers - and their service team are so helpful.

Really impressed with the customer service after our cat managed to lose its collar (after 4 months of constant wear apart from charging ) . Retrieving and tracking it was made much easier with help via their support service . Used the mobile station and radio tracking to find the collar with email help from James including tips and detailed satellite map of the location to search . The collar itself activates a light and sound to help retrieve it when lost .

BUYER BEWARE! Brought this item as looked very neat and website reviews were glowing.
I had to wait over 3 weeks for the product (although warned to be fai4 on website) so very disappointed that Item received was clearly not fit for purpose.
The GPS didn’t work at first and their customer service told me to put on cradle and then was reset ( I assume remotely). Placed item for test in garden as instructed but told I must have wrong type of sky and product may bounce signals off trees and fence which will give an inaccurate location and was registering numerous different locations differing over 20 mtrs apart over minutes, so little use to track a pet or locate the collar if it comes off, but I’m in open ground on a hill and don’t have problem with other GPS devices.
The radio signal is supposed to cover up to 0.5m but lost signal at 200yards. When brought back into the house within a couple if metres of the base station it was registering the device 100mtrs away.
They advertis it has a light and sound. Light flashes under th3 plastic so zero chance of seeing it, and the bleep was so silent you could only hear if placed up to your ear.
The app itself kept going out of sync and complaining about location services and worked only if reloaded the app.
Overall, this product is not fit for purpose and rather than offer to replace (ie may be faulty), they just argued it has inaccuracies.
The kitten insert was just 4 inches of sticky neoprene you can get from B &Q ( draft excluder), not quite the neat quality of the rest of the item. I didn’t try to use it as never got the item to track on first test but doubt it would last 5 minutes.
Now been reading other reviews and wish I had read before as not new news about the failure of the product.
Only positive, the team did try and support quickly on a Sunday and I’ve offered them a chance to rectify if they believe in their product, but last email suggests they accept the issues so not holding out for much more.

Both our cats love their collars and adapted to them instantly they are lightweight and unobtrusive, and don't fall off easily.
Great that we can track our cats up to 1km away in open countryside (we have a roof mounted antenna) which gives us reassurance about their whereabouts.
We upgraded to Petracer 2.0 via the upgrade service and the new collars seem to do better on battery and range. The transition went well and the technical support excellent. Recommended !

Täglich verfolgen wir die Routen unserer zwei Jungkatzen, was spannend zu sehen ist. Einmal konnten wir dank dem mobil gemachten Funkgerät ein verlorenes Halsband wieder finden. Zweimal spürten wir so eine Katze auf, die für unsere Vorstellung zu lange nicht mehr nach Hause gekommen ist;). Das Halsband ist leicht und offenbar angenehm zu tragen. Die Katzen haben es sofort akzeptiert. Wichtig ist, dass das Halsband eng am Hals liegt, damit die Katze den Kiefer nicht in das Halsband stecken kann (ist zu Beginn einmal passiert und wir haben es zum Glück gerade gesehen.)
Besonders hervorzuheben ist der super tolle Support, der von versch. Leuten angeboten wird und stets zeitnah und professionell erfolgte. Vielen Dank.

I had put off buying a tracker for my cats because I was worried it would be heavy & uncomfortable for them. The design of these is great. They aren't too heavy & the weight is spread around & built into the collar, rather than dangling from the neck.
Neither cat minds wearing them. They don't flinch when they are taken on & off to charge.
Customer service has been good as we swapped to the newer version.
Easy to set-up too.
Artie did get some hairloss at first, but it grew back despite continuing to wear the collar. The only other down side is how addictive it is to chevc whay they are upto on the app :)
