We have 2 young Siamese cats and 1 of them has been lost for one full day on two separate occasions. After the first event we tried air tags on their collars. This didn't work as the accuracy wasn't great and on the 2nd event we found the collar but no cat. He managed to crawl back late at night with a broken leg. After a large vet bill his leg has mended, but this time we bought a Pettracer collar each. The collars work well and if we want to we can pretty much pin their whereabouts down at any point in time. However, this does depend on the GPS signal, which is not always reliable, although within a reasonable period of time it usually registers. This can be frustrating sometimes. However, the Pettracer collars are a SIGNIFICANT upgrade on the air tags, and we think are as good as possible given the difficulties of tracking a cat! It has also provided us with a heat map of their hunting ground, which has been quite illuminating, so if they do manage to lose the collar we have a good idea of their most recent position. On a couple of occasions, when we felt that they were too close to danger we have been able to go to a spot near where they are and call them over, which has worked and we have been able to bring them home. Both cats seem happy to wear them and they are much more substantial than the previous attempt to use air tags. So, not perfect but better than anything else we have found. Also, I do have to compliment the team at Pettracer, and in particular Zoe. When we have needed to raise questions a response to our emails have usually been instantaneous, and always helpful.

We've had the system a week, two collars have fallen off our cats, one on a neighbour's patio, so the 'safety buckle' clearly isn't robust enough to cope even with device self-weight. The other cannot be found seeing as the homestation refuses to hotspot off any of the mobile phones in the house. We've taken the third collar off and replaced it with the previous system because we simply cannot trust PetTracer to provide anything that resembles the claims made on the website. This is over six hundred pounds of expenditure to place our cats at greater risk than the previous system which was *Airtags*.

The LEDs are necessarily weak as they are shining through the elastomer encapsulation of the collar and naturally sit underneath the ca's throat, and the alarms can barely be heard standing in the same room. I don't know if this is second-source issue from having to race to resupply inventory given the demand, but none of these problems should ever have escaped QA inspection prior to sale.

I'd already communicated with the company support email address on the day of receipt because we couldn't get at least one collar alarm to sound via the phone application, despite the application claiming it was sounding. Customer service claimed they could activate the alarm remotely but they did not sound. This was reiterated when contacting them about the lost collar and the inability to get a consistent signal via RF for it.

I simply cannot trust the product.

We had our Pettracer for nearly a year to track our dear cat Sybil who had many health conditions. The peace of mind it gave us, knowing exactly where she was, was just wonderful. Especially as we'd previously had the sad experience of having another much younger cat who had a very sudden stroke.
The pettracer device is fab, not too heavy to wear and their customer service is just brilliant. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to any caring cat owner.

I researched many tracking collars available in Canada before I chose PetTracer and I'm glad I chose this one. I didn't give 5 stars only because the collar is a bit pricey in Canadian $$. But, the product and service are excellent! The support staff are very helpful, I've dealt with Zoe and Anna, both were great. I do wish there was a phone support option, but they are quite prompt at responding to email requests for help, even though I'm in a different time zone. A few days ago my cat came home without her collar. I was able to make the home station mobile by plugging it into a power bank so I could take it into the forest. The radio function enabled me to get a signal in the woods and activate the beeper to find the collar in the heavy brush. I don't think I would have found the collar with GPS only, as it was not visible. I am now confident we could find our cat if she gets lost on a crazy adventure in the forest. :)

wir hatten vorher ein Konkurenzprodukt, trotz des Trackers war unser Kater Oskar 15 Tage abgängig, da das Trackingbild eingefrohren war. Bei der Suche nach einer besseren Alternative sind wir auf PATTRACER gestoßen. Das ist derzeit der einzige Tracker der FUNK und GPS vereint, sodass die Tiere auch in Gebäuden gefunden werden können. Am besten finde ich das 35g leichte Halsband das super ausbalanciert ist. Unser Kater hat es sofort gemocht.

We’re absolutely thrilled with our PetTracer!

After only one week of use, we finally know the full extent (at least we think so 😼) of Boris’s kingdom—and wow, it’s huge! Our little adventurer has been crossing forests and fields, pausing by the lake, and exploring all our neighbours’ gardens while they sleep. Seeing his routes plotted so clearly in the app has been a real eye‑opener and it’s quite hilarious to see his crisscrossing tracks and patterns. We knew he liked to wander but not that far!

Setup was painless, the collar synced with the app within minutes, the GPS locked on quickly, and the battery runtime is impressive compared to other trackers we tried. The collar itself is light and low‑profile and Boris accepted it right away and hasn’t tried to wriggle out of it once.

The built‑in heat map shows his favorite hotspots. Should he ever linger beyond range, we can simply move the home station to where he roams most and search for him. That peace of mind is priceless!

For anyone with a curious free‑roaming cat, we can’t recommend PetTracer highly enough!

I am very sad to have to write this.
My cat has the PetTracer collar on, it’s fully charged but I cannot find my cat!
GPS NOT WORKING and the collar is fully charged.

I had been using TRACTIVE for 5 years which worked brilliantly BUT it was a bit heavy. So I found PetTracer which looked so much more comfortable.. so I bought it. And it was much lighter..

IT JUST DOESNT WORK!
The GPS is constantly going off so I’m unable to use live mode.
My cat needs regular medication and I really need to find him… and I can’t.
I’ve written to support as I need help asap. They send me “how to” videos.
Not helpfull!
Just to be clear.. the GPS of TRACTIVE worked really really well. Same area all around my house.. I could even see where he was in London when I was in NYC!

And If the battery was charged in TRACTIVE collar, I could always find my cat…
NOT so with this APP. The app says it’s fully charged.. I have tried everything.

The other night I was outside with my cat standing in the middle of the street, ON MY PHONE, app open and there was no GPS. I was a block away from home with the Home station sitting on a window ledge. That’s not acceptable.
If and when my cat comes home I will be taking off the PetTracer collar and putting back on the TRACTIVE.

I’ve had been looking for a GPS cat tracking product for some time and until I’d found something suitable, I’d used AirTags. Eventually, when I saw petTracer, it ticked all the boxes … but it’s important to realise upfront the trade offs involved here.

The collar is compact and light, which is ideal, but it means that the size of the battery is limited. That means that there isn’t enough power to constantly ping satellites to provide a real-time position - so you need to set the position accuracy via the app whilst recognising what that does to battery charging frequency.

But having said all that, the system works very well for us. We have 2 cats and they are kept in at night, so that’s when I charge the collars. We use ‘normal’ when it comes to tracking frequency and that gives us sufficient information to see where the cats are roaming. The gen 1 collars only have a flashing LED on them to help finding a lost cat so I’ve kept the AirTags on the collars - this works really well. On one occasion, one cat got locked in a neighbour’s garage - only the petTracer GPS sent us a consistent position of him (accurate to maybe 5m) but then I used the ring feature on the AirTag to track him down precisely - I could hear it ringing behind the garage door. I also used the AirTag ringer to find one of collars which had got caught on a branch and detached itself from the cat (as it’s meant to do).

Overall, I would very much recommend this system - it’s well made and does what we want it to do. The purchase price isn’t bad but you need to remember that a subscription is then needed, so you can’t say that the system is cheap, but I think it’s worth the money

I had a query regarding obtaining a replacement Pettracer collar, as unfortunately, our cat must have got her collar snagged, and due to the safety feature, the collar was released in a totally inaccessible place, and although we knew where it was, we couldn't access it.
Zoe from Pettracer was really helpful, responding to my queries quickly and efficiently and making the process so easy. Thank you! I can't recommend this company or the product more highly.

Wanted a small comfortable device for our cat to wear after he has gone missing on a few occasions. Came across petTracer and we have been really happy so far! Puts our minds at rest knowing where he is, the collar is small and doesn’t bother him like previous devices we have had. Also received great customer service and set up instructions. Really happy with our purchase!

James the customer service guy is an absolute legend!! My queries with using the cat collar are answered almost immediately, whatever time of day or night it is. And it’s usually down to operator (me) error rather than the collar! Our lovely kitty Mo is our precious rescue, left at a bus stop to die in a plastic bag as a kitten. He is now living his best life, free to be out in the fresh air but also under constant surveillance by his over anxious Mum (also me) 😊

The collar is good when the cat is in range, however the range is nowhere near as what is advertised. It barely goes past our street and if the cat is not in range, then you don't get GPS positions. Furthermore, switching between modes is super laggy and takes ages. The app is down sometimes as well.

James in support has been so helpful whenever we have had any issues, usually they have been operator error, with one recent exception. He's very patient with us, as we are IT luddites. The system certainly isn't the cheapest, however it works (most of the time) for us. The collar is lightweight and Hayley isnt bothered by it. She is quite petite and has hip dysplasia so I am always worrying about her, especially if it's getting up towards bedtime and she hasn't deigned us with her company. We have lost the collar twice (both times because we didn't put it on correctly rather than her losing it). The mobile radio function is a bit fiddly but on both occasions we found the collar. Again I think it's us that are the issue here as we are not so used to using the locate function, we just need a bit more practice. I have to agree with what some others are saying regarding the GPS. Where we live, it does seem to be a bit patchy, and Hayley frequently goes out of range for both radio and GPS. Thankfully we know where she usually hangs out, so I try not to stress too much whilst she decides to come back into range. Its certainly been a useful purchase so far, 9 months in, and helps me chill out a little - after having lost a cat before Hayley, and never having an answer to his disappearance, this really does give me some peace of mind. (The reflective strips are pretty rubbish though, easily peel off, and/or easily damaged by cat scratching)

I have been very impressed with this collar. It seems ot be very accurate and recently when my cat lost it's collar the locate function worked really well. I had a slight issue setting this up (as i didn't realise you had t set up your phone as a mobile hotspot) but thanks to the excellent customer service from James I sorted this out in no time. the collar was right inside the engine compartment on my wifes car - which shows just how good this system is for located collars - and therefore cats. Highly recommend!!

Our cat went missing after midnight. Although we were getting sporadic GPS signals, it appeared that she was in a secured council depot and it was inaccessible.

I had made a big mistake: I got a new iPhone and didn’t realise that I would have to configure it for the mobile radio tracker. James to the rescue. He spent hours chatting through email and finally got the radio tracker working in mobile mode. Although the GPS gave me her last position, the radio mode gave me the confidence to break into the depot grounds and locate our girl. She had been attacked and savaged by an animal and was in hiding.

Our vet operated on her that night and without the tracker, it is very likely that she would not have survived the night.

Pet Tracer was worth every penny just for this one instance - GPS alone would not have worked.

I would also like to give a special shout out to James. Not only did he get me up and working, but he also asked me to put the spare collar into live mode and wear it, so that he could track me live in relation to the other collar. He brought a whole new meaning to the children’s game, “blind man’s bluff”. He is a kitty superhero!

Brilliant company with fantastic customer service. They reply to emails very quickly and explain things in a way that is easily understandable. The equipment is great and easy to use. Would recommend to any pet owner

Ich bin im Tierschutz für das Ressort Katzen zuständigund, das Halsband wurde von allen Katzen sehr schnell akzeptiert. Der Kundendienst bei petTracer ist einfach toll! Sie Antworten sehr schnell und sind auch am Wochenende erreichbar was mir persönlich sehr eichtig ist.

Das ist der absolut perfekte Pet-Tracer! Er hat uns nach unserem Umzug großartig unterstützt – unsere orientierungslose und sehr sensible Katze ist dank ihm wieder entspannt und gut in der neuen Umgebung angekommen. Das Halsband ist leicht und bequem, die Installation einfach.

Shout-out to Anna and James in customer support. Both are super-quick to respond to problems and queries, even at weekends and Bank Holidays. I like the feeling of their being able to tune in remotely to what I am doing/ whether the collar is working properly. And when it became clear it wasn't, Anna managed to send a new replacement quicker than I dared hope.
