When I first found this company, the website looked promising, they had "good reviews" posted to the site, the customer service (at first) was friendly and seemed overly certain they could help recover data from a hard drive that had a head issue. As soon as I put in an inquiry, I got a phone call. I explained what happened, they assured me they have dealt with the problem before, and I paid a $95 rush fee because I'm a photographer and had important galleries on that drive. I asked what a price range would be for this, and I was told "At minimum, it's gonna be at least $100 but it could even go up to $800". Ok...fine. I suppose I don't have an option.
Fast forward...I get an email telling me what my options where to recover, and the CHEAPEST price was $1,899. Not sure how $1-800 becomes $1899.
I IMMEDIATELY called the company, and had to call two different numbers 3 times before I could get through. After explaining the price ranges weren't in my budget (again, I'm a small town photographer) I was told he could speak to his manager to "see what they can do", which was nothing but give me a quicker turn around time for the $1899, no price change. I continued to explain I couldn't afford this. I was then told they could try to talk to he lab manager AGAIN and at this point I felt jerked around.
It is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable that I was then told that if I didn't pay these prices, that no other company would even TOUCH my drive for this type of problem. I was also told I should reach out to my clients who's imagery is in jeopardy (even though they aren't at fault) and see if THEY would be willing to pay a portion of this price. Seriously??
For a company charging prices like that, they sure seemed desperate to get my business and considering they mentioned having someone else pay? No thanks. That's shady and rude and UNACCEPTABLE.
I'm waiting on my drive to be sent back. I can't recommend this company at all for your data recovery needs. I feel like they are just out for your money.
Extremely Overpriced and Unprofessional
Do not believe the hype. I sent in my drive to be examined, a 2 TB SeaGate hard drive. I was given a quote of over $2,200. I started negotiations with the salesperson over price. The next day I get a call stating that all of my data was recovered and she was sending me a cloud link to access my data. I informed her that I never reached a price with the sales person; she got extremely nervous, starting coming up with excuses, then abruptly transferred me to someone else. Price negotiations continued and each time I refused, another fake "promotion" was given, dropping the price by a few hundred dollars each time. The price went from $2,300 all the way down to $999 which was still not acceptable. I requested them to ship the drive back to me where, once again, I was asked if I would like to see if there was ANOTHER promotion they could apply. By the 6th "promotion", the gig was up and I was sick of their bogus claims. I rejected all offers and ordered them to ship my drive back. They attempted to ship the drive back to me and FedEx LOST the package. I am not claiming that PITS has anything to do with that but the whole situation could have been avoided if this was an ethical company that did not knowingly charge extortionate rates.Thanks to their absolute GREED, my trust in them was broken, which led to the complete loss of my drive. Sad, sad business practices.

Hello, This is my 5 star review for PITS Global Data Recovery Services. Most importantly the customer service was always willing to help in anyway they can. With questions about my service and how the process works in details was really helpful. The communication through email and on phone was great. Either way I was in the know and I knew what to expect. The process i thought was simple and fast turnaround.

Their customer service was incredible. They kept me informed and were honest all the way through the process in the end they delivered at the price they quoted. After I got my drive there have been a couple times where I needed to contact them and they returned my call immediately.

2. Clearly you have taken great thought in developing the process of evaluating the problem and giving the customer a clear choice between a fast turnaround and an affordable one. A+ on that.
3. Your tech’s confidence in your staff’s ability to recover was solid. He made no promises, he offered something far more convincing: confidence.
4. Throughout the process I was never confused or left hanging, everything was perfectly clear, and I had no doubt that I would see my files again.
5. The drive arrived yesterday and I didn’t get a chance to open the box until late this afternoon. I’m sure if I’d been worried, I’d have opened it immediately. But when I got time, there it was.
I’m a tv reporter, and my files are video files, mostly stories about people who inhabit the Delmarva Peninsula, about 90 miles south of Philadelphia PA. It’s a unique part of the country, and its people are descendants of the original settlers and native people.
So I am especially grateful that these stories didn’t vanish forever in that drive failure.
