Straightforward sign-up process
Having reviewed a substantial set of quotes from car insurance companies. RAC offered the best combination of cover- not the least expensive, but the one I felt most comfortable with.
I have insured with the RAC before, so I knew the process.
The website worked well and was less time-consuming than other sites.
I have not made a claim to the RAC to date.

Please quote the lower price to begin with
Last my car insurance was a good price at £228 and I believed the RAC to be a trusted company so I accepted it. When it came to renewal this year it was over £300. I shopped around and found insurance much cheaper so I changed my insurance. At cancellation I was offered insurance for £258 by the RAC, which I probably would have accepted. Why not just offer the lower price to begin with?

The company took a payment from me…
The company took a payment from me although I had instructed them that I did not want to renew my car insurance because their quote was 30% more than other quotes I had had. I have requested them to refund the money but other than a message saying they would contact me within a fortnight ,I have not heard anything.

RAC car insurance
Already with RAC insurance, got a new quote for another year. Accepted quote. Was told documents would be emailed and posted. I prefer to speak to an operator as opposed to going online. They say it’s quicker. No it’s not for me!
Documents arrived, wrong amounts and dates 3 times. You ask customer to check details. May I suggest RAC to check details before they are sent to customer.
