The renewal was trouble free and so easy

Set up was easy to do. Everything simple to understand when setting up my policy.

I have just had to surrender my licence to the DVLA due to having an epileptic seizure. This is clearly completely out of my hands and I am having to make huge adjustments in life to compensate. Though RAC did waiver the £45 cancelation fee they insisted on taking the remaining balance outstanding on my policy. Epilepsy is a protected characteristic under the 2010 Equality Act and I feel it unfair that I am charged the remaining balance.

The renewal was carried out promptly and efficiently.

First time I have insured my car with RAC and was impressed with how straightforward the process was.

The fact that my insurance was renewed automatically and I didn’t have to do anything but check the documents when they arrived promptly by post.so easy!

My renewal came through from RAC, it had increased since last year so I went to compare the market and found cover with RAC for much less than the renewal. Ridiculous waste of my time,

I took out car insurance last year with the RAC. When it came time to renew my insurance I searched the usual 'comparision websites'. I have to say that whilst my RAC renewal quote wasn't the cheapest quote it wasn't too much more expensive. What made me choose RAC was the ease with which they made renewing through them, from an early reminder to clear and concise information about the new policy. Renewing online was simple. I would recommend RAC for anyones car insurance needs.

All straight forward and easy to renew

I found the process online was very easy to understand when looking for a quote on my car insurance.
Also my roadside and home recovery service.

Twice I have tried to add people to my car insurance. The first time it was my daughter (clean licence, and in her 30s) returning from Canada, with details of her Canadian licence but she'd had to send it to the DVLA to reissue her UK licence. As she has a small child and no car, I wanted to lend her mine. RAC do not permit short term additions, it had to be to the end of insurance year, August, which was OK. But the price was not - more than £600! On to today, when I tried to add my brother-in-law to my insurance for a journey we are making together. Elderly but completely clean licence and no health issues. Online, the price appears to be £31.46 which was fine. But it wouldn't go through. Via the chatbot, over about 30 mins, I finally got a quote there - well over £100. What is this all about! Difficult to contact, long waiting times. I cannot give RAC car insurance more than 1 star for this side of their business.

They are so helpful

The fact you cancel insurance claiming you sent a letter requesting details for driving licence, although already provided prior to taking insurance, then but you send a emnail on day you cancel. but dont send email prior only letters, which i never recieved is criminal. You still have not prooved you even sent me a letter. this is going to the financial ombudsman.

Decided to look for a competitive price after receiving my renewal so used RAC online. This was easy to complete, gave all the information I needed to make a decision and returned what i thought was a reasonable quote that was acceptable.

I felt the Call Handler who dealt with my initial queries and amendments to my cover dealt with situation efficiently.

A good range of quotes but the devil is in the detail. Many quoting, including the company selected, are pricing on cheapest option, such as breakdown recovery. I had to amed plicy and pay more and couldn't be bothered to go through the whole experience again. I will just be more careful next year, when I will be competing the renewal offer.
