Ladies & Gentleman, if your considering going to the rent a center in Ennis, Tx. be aware! After Sonya greets you everything else will be deceitful. Perhaps this is why when she asked Patrick for his help he politely refused. Shopping at the location in Ennis was very deceiving & disappointing.

Went to rent a center to see about a ps5 disc 1tb … they’re charging almost $1,300 for $499.99 set up you get any where else … just the console 1 controller …. That’s a little insane … this is coming from someone who’s been dedicated to rent a center for years … paid for washer dryer 3 TVs … tried ps5 & this ?? Nooooooo thats not right …. Even with the $100 discount & 1 month free

This is long and I apologize! I wouldn’t want what happened to me to happen to someone thinking about purchasing anything from these people!

Do not buy anything from these people! In August I got behind maybe two weeks only missing one payment. Other than that my payment history was perfect. I had a lot of things going on in my life at that time; my husband had been off work about two weeks due to dental surgery and my daughter and I were in a bad car accident on August 16. My car was totaled and physically and mentally I was in a bad place. Initially I communicated with RAC telling them what was going on and they acted like I was lying. My husband even talked to them to let them know our situation. Both of us told the manager David we WOULD pay the late payment ASAP. I told them I’d make two payments when I got paid. Nothing was good enough for them! After my husband talked to them I thought he was handling everything and he thought I was so there was a bit of communication mix up.

Just know these people are relentless and they don’t care about anything other than getting money. The threats started with texts and phone calls and I honestly did not want to talk to them anymore because they don’t listen. They talk over you and accuse you of lying. On August 17 I went to urgent care due to the issues I was having from my car accident and my husband and 20 year old son were doing some side work that day. That day the manager, David, came out to my house early that morning and was beating on the door and screaming my name saying I need to talk you about your account!!! My 15-year old daughter was home alone and she was terrified, she had no idea what was going on and our front door was unlocked because she had just let our dogs in. She called me in a panic and still still not having a clue who was at our house, I told her to call 911 and I had to leave the doctor’s office to rush home. MCSD dispatch instructed her not to open the door and kept her on the line while she was waiting for the sheriff to come to the house. She had her phone on speaker and dispatch could hear everything. By the time a unit came to the home David was gone and they asked me if I wanted to press charges, that I’m nowhere near the first person to call them about these people. I declined at that time but warned I warned RAC to not come back on our property or we will call MCSD again.

After all this, the manager lied and said he was not “beating down the down and demanding that you open it”. He said “I asked if you could please come to the door so we can go over and discuss your account. That he I was never there to strong arm any one that is not or have ever done business”. That is not what happened! He tried to gaslight me acting like his behavior was perfectly acceptable. WTH comes out to your house and scares your minor child early on a Saturday morning because you owe $100?!. The mob?

Just know this company spends big $$$ to lobby for exclusion from being included in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Regardless, there are multiple lawsuits against RAC from individuals and state attorney generals because their debt collection practices are abusive.

I will NEVER purchase another thing from these people! I wanted them to come get the $&@# thing but my husband talked me out of it.

I've done business with my local Rent a Center in Jackson, Alabama for 25 years or more. You name it, I've purchased it. I have enjoyed my experience with them through the years but never as much as recently. The new manager Austin is WONDERFUL!!!! He is always willing to work with me. In this day of rush, rush, rush, it is nice to go to a place and feel not only welcome but appreciated. I want to take this time to thank Austin and his team at Rent a Center in Jackson, Al. They go ABOVE and BEYOND for their customers!

greensburg rent a center is ridiculous i was approved $2500 and i call they denied me after i pick an item and was approved hey rent a center greensburg my items are paid off and im not playing kiss your a. kenny a salvio p.S wHAT THe eXCUSe NOw

Well I've been a customer for 14 yrs have paid off many things .my payments are every two weeks has been for a long time .I go in on June 22 the new staff tell me I'm 4 days late and the amount is different.my credits have not been applied.the new staff in the alamosa store need training and get familiar with customers.i have 2 items out and every two weeks the price is different.why
And why 1 week after I pay there texting me .my payments are every two weeks

MY name is Ken salvio I filled out the application for couch at rent a center and i I got approved $2000 I called in the morning the Greensburg pa store denied me I want to know why cuz the last item i rented i paid off this is ridiculous I.paid off my items last thing I paid off $1200 for an Xbox I got for my son so my purchasing power should be great at rent a center not deny me

There are no words to tell you how frustrated I am with this company.
I was home from the UK for an undetermined amount of time and thought I would rent a bedroom set from a store that I could just send it back to when my stay was up.
So the bed is delivered and I will be honest, it was a great mattress!
However, the two tables that came with it were busted up and the worst quality of any due to have ever seen. One table was useless from day one.
Keep in mind, I am paying over $150 per month. I decided to use autopay so I don’t have to worry about the payments.
Within a couple months the other side table completely imploded onto itself.
I called the company and they told me they had complaints about the tables.
Now - this is where my main complaint comes in. I had been paying $150 a month for a YEAR!
So I am $1800 in for a bedroom set that is worth $1,000 TOPS!
I speak to the Supervisor Randy who tells me I can purchase the set outright for another $500 and I consider that offer - but I’m Leaving the country and just don’t need it so I schedule a time for the drivers to come pick it up.
Of course on the day of the scheduled pick up NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND THE PERSON I SCHEDULED IT WITH AND CONFIRMED IT WAS OUT THAT DAY.
Then I find out Randy has been sent to another store and the new Manager, Gabriel was taking over.
I GO to the actual store and speak to Gabriel. He assured me the drivers would be at my home later and that once the furniture was received back - no further payments would be taken automatically.
Would you like to guess if that was accurate.
The furniture was returned to Rent A Center on May 13.
EVERY WEDNESDAY SINCE (May 15, May 22, May 29, June 5 AND June 12) $36.56 has been charged to my credit card.
EACH WEEK (as well as days in between) I HAVE CALLED GABRIEL AT THE LOCAL STORE AND HAVE BEEN ASSURED THE CHARGES WILL BE RETURNED AND IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.
I can understand that things happen. Things can be overlooked. People can get busy. But this is now just straight up FRAUD!!
And each and every person I have spoken to about this have been BEYOND INCOMPETENT !!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
The quality of the products Are Subpar and their employees don’t have a single clue what they’re doing!!! Shame on them for continually lying to me. It’s obvious this “Manager” doesn’t even know how to terminate an order.
This will NOT BE TOLERATED!!!

They are some awesome people they work with you they really care about what's going on in your life I recommend to everybody. Comes with easy payoffs.

I've been renting to own From Rent a center since they opened up in the 80's and still rent to own from them. They are the best place to rent to own, I highly recommend going through Rent a center they are the Best. Thank You Rent a center

Tj Spiker and Terrell Thompson delivered my furniture and washer and dryer on tuesday they were very professional and very nice people they took pride in there job and took there time to make sure everything was set up and working properly they also took time to ănswer any questions or concerns i had. Tj went above and beyond the day we went in the store to meet our needs greeted us as we came through the door with a smile on her face and was vêry professional. She is the main reason we decided to rent from them. The company should be glad to have them both working for them. Places need more people like them working for them. Im very pleased with both of them

Dalton and Jeff came out last week and brought me a pull out couch and it was very very nice and they were so nice to take down my gate and put it back together and Dalton came back out today to take the couch back because unfortunately it would not fit where I needed to be. Dalton and Daniel came out today to take it off my hands, and Mary’s always help me with whatever my heart desires. Five star out of five. If you haven’t checked them out. This is a really good place to buy your furniture I’ve been going through Rent-A-Center for so 13 years and Garland at the corporate store and never really like them at corporate stores, but over here with Mary and Dalton. I really really love everybody in the store is very friendly all the time so definitely check them out. Thank y’all so much for always helping us out. P.S. M.F. Family.

Do not deal with this scam.
These people told a bold face lie had me spend over 1 hours on the phone going through differnt laptops. Took all my info including sensitive personal information.
Placed a order and paid by credit card.
Waited almost 3 days Noone called I had to keep calling this so called corporate phone number.
Finally on the 4th day someone answered the phone and said they didn't see any application.
When in fact my account on their website is fully active with a shipping date that passed up.
The guy transfered me to the store and claimed o the equipment is broken you need to come to a store and do a application.
Previously I was told the customer service on the website isn't real those online applications does not get you approved when bluntly the website says APPROVED AND READY TO BE DELIVERED!

The lady at the store Griggs st Houston Tx had such a nasty attitude talking fast trying to cover up the fact they are all lying by fast talking etc.

So basically the website and all the info you put their does not matter even when I paid with my card all the necessary fees!

This is openly false advertising and taking money with a fake process to trick you to believe you are approved then a store call you back and scream o it's broke you need to do an application again!

I filled out an online application at 851 Cumberland st, Lebanon, PA 17046, right after I received a text informing me that i will soon receive a call from a staff member at Rent -A-Center. I waited 2 days so I called asking about my online application and a lady told me that the item will be shipped out and will take 2 weeks to get to the store and for that i only had to pay $6, so I made the purchase through the phone. This was on the month of December 2023 before Christmas and really wanted a new sofa for Christmas. I waited 2 weeks and a half and called back asking again about the item and the same lady answered the phone and said that the item was out of stock, i asked why didn’t i get a notification about this earlier other than waiting 2 weeks and a half? She said, “We’re sorry, this place is crazy and it seems to be that i am the only one working the right way here”. I did tell her that she was the same person i have spoken to before and i could have at least received a notification, she completely deny being her. (I know because she is the only female working there and i have been a loyal customer to them). So i asked for a refund of the $6 i paid for submitting the application, she said i never made that purchase. I asked her how is that? I can show her proof from my bank account, she said she does not see a purchase being made the day I called inquiring about my application status and does not see the $6 that i have paid. I was not going to continue to argue for $6 but the fact that she did not help me nor the manager and they knowing who i was for being a loyal customer now makes me unimportant and hopeless. They lost a loyal customer that have been with them for over 6 years!

For anyone and everyone!! Don’t deal with this RIP OFF company, they are extremely insensitive and their items are tripled priced. Miss a payment and becomes even harder to-payoff that item . Thought I was doing my Grandson a favor. NO ll found out, true facts . I had did myself an injustice!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER DO BUSINESS WITH

The rent a center in Bear Delaware has made My life so much was easier. The employees are wonderful the selection huge. They work hard to make sure everything is correct! Thank you Rent a center

I sit here waiting 6 hours to receive a product scheduled to be delivered between 1 and 4 I took off work for this delivery after returning a phone call 29 minutes passed delivery time I was told my item was still in a box but they had one in the store already assembled I agreed to take that one cause I can’t take off another day to reschedule delivery No one reached out to me again I called 15 minutes before store closing only to find out someone should have rescheduled the delivery this is no way to treat your customers especially a 20 year customer I’m highly disappointed

I called the Sherman store and explained that I had an unexpected expense due to fixing leaking pipes. I was told that they would have to talk to the Dm. Never got any response and was never told that I would have to pay $200 to bring my account current. Been with RAC a long time and presently have every. Item under $300 willing to pay for the week plus the $15 late fee.

Technically I'm a past customer and ex-employee(delivery specialist) of this company so I can confidently say this place is the worst as I've had a very eye-opening perspective of both sides of the coin. This company takes advantage of low income families by constantly calling, emailing, and texting to pressure them to make payments(sometimes on the day its due) or to always be "on rent" by pretty much begging for more and more sales, even after customers have paid off previous merchandise. If your late they have credit runs where they will have the delivery specialist show up at your home to harass you about payment. Sometimes with letters falsely advertising that you'll be charged with class A felonies if you dont pay or return the merchandise. They smile in their customers and co-workers faces, then talk badly behind their backs. Sara(credit manager)/Karen(store manager) mostly. Especially if customers are late to make their payment or become problem accounts. Behind closed doors they call customers welfare bums, c*nts, and a number of other names or the Schoharie/Cobleskill region as a whole will be labeled as "entitled" by the outsiders that work there. All they care about is the numbers for their corporate sleazebag masters, DM(Jeff) and RM(Ray). So much so, that they will doctor the numbers using shady business practices like adding items to their personal accounts to make it look like it's not a zero sales day then return it at a later date. Sometimes they will hold off on returning items in the system at their DM Jeff's request/ customers expense as another way to bump the numbers. Even if it means the customers have to pay their ridiculous interest/late fees. I paid off the merchandise I had rented on my EPO date asap to avoid all of this. I quit the company because I have a soul unlike my previous co-workers who lost touch with their humanity in the name of pizza parties and bullsh*t paychecks where overtime is non-existent. Your better off going to Scholet Furniture, Home's Goods Store, Mattress, Mattress or Facebook Marketplace for your furniture and appliance needs. All you'll get at this store is brand new appliances that constantly break and need service, pissy mattresses sprayed with Febreze, and used dog hair covered and c*m stained couches/recliners. Not to mention the grief you'll get from choosing to pay rent rather than rentacenter.

Apparently the store in Rochester NH has been taken over by new people that have no regard for our feelings.....the washing machine I got only had five payments left when it started a serious leak whenever I used it.....I called to have them take it back...they came the day they said they would buy didn't take it under the excuse I had to move stuff....okay...I did...made an appointment for next day....no one came...I called and was told they had no one to come get it.....called my brother in law and he moved it to the hallway......I called and told them where to pick it up and they came for it an hour later.....this Rochester location has gone down hill since we started with them....this was a good store up until now...never had a problem with Dover or Portsmouth......
