We have been very happy with our rise garden. Upon initial delivery a piece arrived damaged and they were very helpful
In replacing the piece needed. Our garden has been a beautiful addition to our kitchen!

Great product overall

Great product overall. The ONLY thing that bugs me is that some of the pods come empty. Not a huge deal since you can transfer one or two seeds from another pod but if its the last pod of the set on your 2nd or 3rd crop cycle, its a little irritating.

Good idea, needs some fine tuning

I have the single level family garden. You’re supposed to clean them every 5-6 months, however I find my pump and water tank needing to be deep cleaned every 6 weeks. If it goes much longer the mold on the roots begins to build up effecting plant growth and health, and the pump filtered gets clogged up with muck. I’ve also had intermittent issues with the water level sensor. I think they need a better system for that. The ultrasonic is too sensitive. Other than that, when it’s freshly cleaned the plants thrive in those first few weeks. But deep cleaning so often is a big chore.

Geoff - Sorry that you're having to clean so often. You should not have to do that.
We have some suggestions. Sometimes algae growth can be mistaken for mold in your garden, and while icky looking, is mostly harmless to your plants. However, if left to grow for months, the algae can breakdown and mold itself. The best way to avoid this cycle is to make sure you are using hole covers on your trays (to stop light getting into your water) and to be sure that your plant pods are covered from light with our tinfoil and stickers. Some substitute pods are meant to be kept moist and don't have foil covers - both of which encourage algae growth.
In the case of bacteria or mold growth, double check you are only using Rise products as other fertilizers can impact the chemical balance by reacting to the pods and can lead to mold. If you are using Rise products, you may need to lower the temperature of your water. This can be done by adding ice to your garden every week, adding a fan to your Garden, or keeping your Garden out of direct sunlight. Any water temp above 75ºF may increase your chances of root diseases that can lead to issues. Crap company!!!!!

Here’s where I think this company is full of crap…. No phone number!!!! And second you order a garden to plan 12 plants and they send you a 4 plant nursery. They simply like to nickel and dime. On a positive note you can find all the crap they sell at Home Depot for half the price to include seeds. Also one of their cabinets came dented but who the hell what’s to go through the trouble of returning a massive item.

Laura, we're sorry to see you have some issues. Note that we do phone consultations all the time. We just ask for some insights on problems first as most issues are very easily solved with guidance we can send folks. As for nurseries, you can start your plants directly in the system when you first start up. When your garden is up and running, you're going to replace plants on a rotating basis, and nurseries are great for that, but you won't need 12 nursery slots. I'd also point out that none of our competitors send you a nursery for free - most don't even have nurseries. And, yes, people can DIY hydroponic systems. But not ones made of powder-coated metal, real wood and 3 custom-designed circuit boards to manage your garden through an app, set a custom light schedule, deliver best-in-class multi-spectral lights, plant support trellises, etc. You'll get PVC pipe systems and recycled plastic versions (which leach chemicals into your water). We're sorry a cabinet arrived dented. We don't control the shippers, of course. We will replace anything that was damaged. Good luck in your gardening journey. Ordering was easy

Ordering was easy. The product was shipped in a reasonable amount of time. Took a little bit of time to put together but the video and written instructions were helpful. Have had it up and going for about 2 months so far and really enjoying the product.

The unit is well designed and thought out, and from our perspective - aesthetically appealing and fits our decor. We have had numerous technical issues. The computer board didn't work out of the box and a new one needed to be shipped. 2 weeks later the power supply failed and again a new one had to be shipped. 2 months on, everything now seems to be in working order. Customer service was OK, Responses times were slow but reactive once we had their attention. We asked to replace the crop we lost due to failures noted above - the response from Customer Service - can you send a picture. Seriously? Given the fiasco from the start - that should have been offered without having to ask, and then to ask for a picture? It's all in the garbage.

Erik - Thank you for your persistence. It's rare that our main control board fails as it's tested multiple times before shipment. Likely the shipper was rough and knocked something loose. The power supplies are also very reliable. We upgraded them last year, so hopefully you won't have this problem again. We advise not "hot plugging" in your lights. Plug in lights before plugging the power supply into the wall. Regarding the seeds, we agree and have since changed that policy. Now that everything is running smoothly, we're confident you'll have great growing experience. Our system is (by far) the most sophisticated on the market and we really care that you are successful at growing. Best of luck!

Unique Experience

I had the unique experience of a problem with my lights. The main lights were red and wouldn't correct. A text to the company had a new wire set up at my home in a couple of days. Now it works great. As a disabled person who loves to garden, I had struggled for years bringing containers to my deck. My home has low lighting so my house plants struggle every winter when I bring them inside. I can now grow plants of all kinds till my heart is content. Thank you so much for making this possible for an elderly grandmother with disabilities.

You really want me to do this?

Again, this is now the third time you have asked me to review your product and I still have not received it! I ordered in November and still do not have it. So I have to give one star because I don't know if I like it or not. This really is ridiculous!

Alvin, we're sorry you have gotten multiple requests. The first one was a request to review your shopping experience, not the product. While this seems a bit superfluous, Google requires it for its search engine rankings. The second one was a request for a review, but we set the time frame for when shipping was faster than it is during the holidays. We've since extended the time period. The third was likely a reminder on the first one. Again, sorry for the hassle and your review has prompted us to change our timelines.

A good hydroponics product

A good hydroponics product, with a great mobile app to guide you and lots of thought put in. But at the time of this review, its clearly a young company with some issues to work out.

Does not last long

Garden is less than a year old and I’ve already had to replace the water pump and the power supply at my expense. Very dissatisfied in quality of this product.

Shopping was easy and I was able to get…

Shopping was easy and I was able to get all of the answers to the questions I had before purchasing. The product is great. I had a little trouble with the color of the product, which is the only reason this is not a 5-star review. On the upside and the reason I will change this when it's corrected, is that customer service handled this as quickly as the could under pandemic circumstances.

Hope it really works and is Easy to use

The positive: I am looking forward to getting my grow garden as I’ve been wanting to try this type of item. The Negative: I think that company could do a much better job at describing the whole process from receiving the package to planting and growing. Still too many unknowns for me to feel comfortable that I just spent $300 well.
