Welcome to RM Cycles
Your Local Bike Shop Online
The independent, family-run cycle shop in Tenterden, Kent
Thanks for visiting RM Cycles! We’re a proudly family-owned and run independent bike shop, established in 2008 and based just outside Tenterden, Kent — one of England’s most charming market towns.
Cycling is in our DNA. Every member of our team is a cyclist or triathlete, so we truly understand the joy, challenges, and precision that come with finding the perfect bike. Whether you’re chasing podiums, exploring trails, or rediscovering the fun of two wheels, we’re here to help.
Our Philosophy
Come for the Price – Stay for the service
At RM Cycles, buying a bike isn’t a one-time transaction — it’s the start of a long-term relationship. From your first visit to every service that follows, we’re committed to giving you the smoothest, most reliable experience possible.
We want you to have total peace of mind knowing that your local bike shop understands your needs, knows your bike inside out, and genuinely cares about keeping you riding your best.
Shop with Confidence
Although we’re a traditional bricks-and-mortar store, most of our customers now find us online — and we aim to make that experience just as personal. Buying a new bike can be exciting but also daunting, which is why we encourage you to call or message us before purchasing. We’ll help you find exactly the right model, size, and setup for your goals and budget; Just as you would if you vistied your local bike shop!
We’re proud to stock some of the world’s most respected cycling brands, including Giant, Liv, Pinarello, Colnago, Santa Cruz, Trek, Cannondale and Frog Bikes. While we’re known for high-end road and mountain bikes, we welcome riders of all abilities and budgets — because everyone deserves expert advice and exceptional service. We want our customers to enjoy riding as much as we do!
Independent. Passionate. Trusted.
Unlike many UK bike retailers, RM Cycles is completely independent. That means our advice is always focused on what’s right for you — not on brand quotas or sales targets.
You can meet our owner and see a tour of the store here.
Workshop & Servicing
Our fully equipped workshop offers everything from quick tune-ups to full custom builds. Whether you’re maintaining your favourite bike or creating your dream ride, our experienced mechanics will ensure it performs beautifully.

Tremendous value for money
Placed my order on a Sunday, received a confirmation email next day and would have received the bike on the following Friday had it not been for APC not being able to deliver, which I was informed of and the re-delivery was carried out on the Monday. Fantastic value bike, almost too good to be true, but it was!

Great bike
Purchased a e-bike through the cycle to work scheme and from start to finish dealing with RM cycles. Mike and Tom made buying the bike a seamless and easy experience. Which was great as I live over 150 miles away. The bike purchased was a fantastic price. A couple of hundred quid cheaper than anywhere else and I know I'd spent weeks looking for a bike and in the end found a total bargain. The service and communication has been excellent. Can't fault them and if I were going to buy another bike I would definitely go to them first

Hi Robert, sadly once the bike leaves here we have no control over our courier's service. Occasionally they experience traffic problems which distrupts their distribution sorry you were one of those. Enjoy your bike!

Hi Giles, thanks for taking the time to post a review, Graham is a treasure isn't he, so glad you're happy and out riding again
Their expertise surprised me
Being an amateur, the team are always helpful and offer advise.
I went in to have my road bike serviced , but was tempted by an amazing deal for a new one. No hard sell at all, just information and options, and I walked away thinking.
Picked up bike from service and yes I did buy the new bike! I had done research and it was an amazing deal on price a very well spec’d road bike.
But, why the title of my review…..
Went in today to collect, they fitted it for me and observed without asking my mechanics. First time I have been asked if I had, had an injury to my hip! Yes, had a major operation years ago, but they spotted it based on observation, amazing knowledge and reall extra service, and also provided a solution in spacers for pedals and also suggestion if I also felt pinching in the hip. Plan to go back in after 6 weeks to get the bike checked over and see if any adjustments are needed.
THEY REALLY KNOW THEIR STUFF!
Highly recommended, service, quality, price and just the whole team.
