Ordered a mountain bike for my grandsons birthday on Friday 25th. What I actually got was a three wheeley bin storage shed, customer care was an absolute joke, I explained that I lived on a small boat and had nowhere to put it, I then got an email asking for pictures and an address where they can pick it up, it's not rocket science and also as many dates as possible that would be convenient to pick it up, its outside they can pick it up whenever they want. I'm going to start the reimbursement with my credit card company, because I don't think they have enough brain cells to work it out

Unnecessary plastic use
Bought a pair of biodegradable headphones trying to be more eco friendly with my purchases, but they arrived in a massive plastic bag that in total had more plastic in it than a pair of plastic headphones.
Seeing shops increasingly using cardboard and paper for deliveries, I was disappointed and will not be ordering from Robert Dyas again.

Wish I had read this all before I bought a fridge online from Robert Dyas. 29/6/25 received order confirmation with confirmation delivery by 1 July.
30/6/25 I received a tracking number for the item which also stated delivery by 1 July. Following the tracking number said the item was still with the sender. This status did not change
1/7/25 I called Robert Dyas and they advised that they would need to contact the supplier to find out what was happening. As far as I was concerned the supplier was Robert Dyas and they had on 2 occassions said the delivery would be 1/7/25. I then requested that the order be cancelled and was told they could not do that without contacting the supplier. I pointed out that my transaction was with Robert Dyas, Robert Dyas is the name on my credit card but they refused. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY FROM ROBERT DYAS - IT IS DECEITFUL TO GIVE A DELIVERY DATE OVER WHICH THEY CLEARLY HAVE NO CONTROL.
I deliberately chose a British company rather than just ordering from Amazon but the reason that Amazon is so successful is they don't treat customers like this

I bought a bed frame 2 years and 3 months ago. I am 5ft and 8st.
Only me using it.
And it's broken one of the side panels literally split.
They say it is older than 1 year so they won't do anything. Under the Consumer Rights Act it states goods should last a reasonable time. 2 years for a bed frame is NOT a reasonable time. I imagine if 2 normal size adults had used it it would have broken within the year.
Loyalty card pricing scam
Loyalty card pricing is a scam. Went in to buy a few things didn’t realise charged RRP second price displayed on the shelves until looked at receipt at home. Guy at till asked if I had a dyas card, I said no, he didn’t say do you want a card to get cheaper prices. I’d advise anyone going in to store without a dyas card to take your reading glasses to work out which is the actual price, what’s the point of adding two prices if your default price is the higher price, it just looks like RRP vs their price!? I’ll be taking all this stuff back to store when I go back in to town next weekend, will buy from Amazon instead, the price advertised is the one you pay (and cheaper anyway). Why support British shops, thought it was only Tesco forcing people to give up elements of privacy in order to make basic purchases. The price differential between cost for non loyalty card holders is a scam really unethical, may as well give data to Amazon at least it’s very cheap and delivered to your door, and no town centre car park charges.
Extremely late delivery
Extremely late delivery, still hasn't arrived in fact and whenever i try to find out more, at first they told me i was wrong about the delivery date, when i proved that not to be the case they told me it was in the hands of their "supplier"
They have since allegedly contacted this "supplier" three times now and each time they seem to only move the process on a little bit, despite the order being ready to dispatch since the day after i ordered.
I truly do not know who is at fault, either Robert Dyas themselves or this so called "supplier" of theirs but regardless it is extremely poor service on both ends.

Robert dyas have sold me a fan with a hole and a crack in so bad that the water has drained out and leaked through the ceiling ruining carpet and ceiling on first use. Will be taking legal action unless full compensation to fix is given

Absolutely terrible customer service. I’ve been emailing them for weeks regarding a juicer I ordered. No replies, no responsibility and keep passing me on to Ninja. They said a refund would be processed and have not done it.
Terrible service overall poor communication and frankly I would never recommend.

My first purchase from Robert Dyas and most definitely my last. Bought an arbour on line which arrived with missing parts one of which was pointed out by the installers, the other I discovered later. Wrong items have been sent TWICE and I am still waiting for correct component. Absolutely dreadful customer service.

Alphason Dallas Wooden Office Desk
Alphason Dallas Wooden Office Desk - Beech - I ordered this desk and it arrived damaged - the beading was detached from the front of the desk top and the rear corner had crush damage. On contacting Customer Services they offered me a 10% refund if I would keep the desk - not sure why anyone would accept this when the item is not fit for use. Anyway the promptly dispatched a replacement, which arrived damaged and then another, which also arrived damaged - mind you having watched the 3rd one being taken out of the delivery van, it's hardly surprising as they banged it onto the ground getting it out of the van. I then had one final attempt at getting an undamaged desk top ( I must admit I said a little prayer) but to no avail, although I held out little hope as Customer Services said the carrier could not guarantee the item would be delivered undamaged!!! (surely that's their main purpose) So as you may have guessed the 4th delivery arrived more damaged than any of the other deliveries. So I now have a desk with a damaged desk top and three spare damaged desk tops in my garage - firewood I would suggest. So every email they send you says they will look to resolve your issue in 12 days - this took 6 weeks! However to be fair, after a call from Customer Services I eventually received a Full refund - all I have to do now is have a bonfire or make a visit to the tip. On a plus note the Customer Service staff were very polite and I will be warm this winter. DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM THIS COMAPNY Their carrier is appalling.
Poor Service
I will never order with this company ever again. I thought they were a reputable company as I've shopped in their stores on multiple occasions but never again will I order from their online store. I placed an order on the 28th of May I still have not received that order. The delivery date I was given was the 30th of May. They decided to try and deliver on the 29th a day I wasn't available and they didn't communicate this date with me and I only knew about it because I had a missed delivery text. Rearranged for it to be delivered on the Monday to only be delivered one out of four boxes. Contacted customer service to be told when I booked redelivery I had to select each box to be redeliverd individually despite that not being an option when doing this. Rebooked for Wednesday to wait in all day to receive a text message to say they can't deliver that day. Called customer services to be told they can't deliver to me on the day I rearranged because I live in a small area and I am not on their route for that day. I asked why give delivery date options if they won't deliver to be told that is an estimated delivery date and not guaranteed it all depends on the area and the delivery route. I am already pretty annoyed by this point but was offered for it to be redeliverd again today to receive yet another text saying they can't deliver today. That's three days I've wasted waiting in for a delivery for it to be cancelled and no compensation has been offered and no delivery date has been given. To be told they won't deliver to me because I live in a small town is disgusting why offer delivery if they won't deliver and when they do they only bring one box what use is that to me one box out of four I can't do anything with that. I am still none the wiser as to if or when I will actually receive my order. Absolutely disgusting customer service and service in general I will never use this company again. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone avoid at all costs unless your plan is to pay for an item and never receive it

Item purchased never arrived, very poor customer services from Robert Dyas, they expect customers to chaise their suppliers.
The supplier, apparently dispatched the item, but it was damaged and had to dispatch it again, after four days, I received a delivery text, but the item never arrived, when I called customers services I was told that it was delivered to the wrong address, but soon the story was changed to the goods were faulty again and the item needed replacement which will take 4-6 working days.

I visited the Witney store on Sunday and I must say what a fantastic experience. I was extremely grateful to Adam who went above and beyond. He really is an asset to the team there. Nothing was too much trouble even when I asked a million questions. Highly recommended this store.
