Following a recommendation from Martin Lewis' site, we visited the 'Simply Excess website.'

The simple, clear website made our purchase very easy.

I have been an Eversure/iCarhireinsurance.com customer historically and was able to compare all the policies across those companies before deciding on Simply.

The "amounts insured sections" over Simplys' policy are much greater than the competitions and the cost of their policy significantly cheaper !

Great experience. Best price online, very clear conditions. Printed voucher accepted without question at the rental desk (Centauro)

I was nervous about car Hire Simply Excess gave peace of mind & confidence to drive in an unfamiliar car. thankfully I didn't need to make a claim.The communication was excellent from booking until the vehicle was handed over. Needed excess cover for a hire car in Greece. Found Simply Excess via Moneymaxim. Good price that gave a policy that covered everything without any excess payments. Thankfully did not have to claim but for £10 to cover an excess of £400 it was well worth the piece of mind.

I took out the policy with Simply Excess after receiving a recommendation to use a comparison site for these excess policies from Martin Lewis and MoneySavingExpert.com. The whole process was really simple, and fortunately I didn't need the policy as (surprisingly for 1000 km of Italian driving) the car was returned unscathed. However, the communications and information you receive from Simply Excess are really useful. I'd certainly use them again any time I'm looking to hire a car.

Selected Simply Excess based on a mention in Martin Lewis's Money Saving tips and pleased I did. The experience with Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Spain fortunately all went smoothly (no claims necessary). I commend the guidance provided in Simply Excess emails before collecting and returning the car. It was clear, honest and helpful. I would definitely use them again.

First time I have used Simply Excess and whilst I didn't need to make a claim, the product benefits were clearly detailed in both the policy document and IPID. The pricing was also very competitive relative to the quotes I had obtained from both airline websites and the car hire firm I was using for the same product. Definitely will use again

This is the first time I have used simply excess to cover my hire car in Spain.
Unfortunately on return of my car they found a small scratch on the bumper and kept 300 euros of my deposit. I claimed on my policy when I returned home and the money was reimbursed after three days.

Didn't have to make a claim so cannot comment on that side of the policy but would definitely use SimplyExcess again
