Be careful, there are scammers on the site!!! Today I received a message from a supposed mother who was looking for a nanny for her child. But after a whole day of correspondence with her, I realized that in fact they were scammers. They asked for an email address and all correspondence was conducted not on the Sitly website, but via email. They repeatedly pressured me to send an E-transfer to another email address. The fake "mother" wanted me to get a first aid certificate. I said that I would not mind doing it without any problems. But she began to insist that I only get it through her personal doctor. Who also turned out to be a scammer... he sent me the e-mail for the E-transfer. But this alerted me and I refused. I asked if I could come and pay in person, at the clinic. They began to pressure me, saying that I needed to do it already, she was preparing all the documents so that I could pay quickly. I suggested that I sign up for training at the official office and get this certificate, to which she got angry and said that she only trusts this doctor. He will teach me everything and tell me everything. I suggested that she pay for these courses herself from her doctor, if she wants him, and she can take this money from my first salary. To which she, of course, did not agree, replied that there are many problems with me and she will find someone else) I really want to insist that the girls be careful and do not pay anything to anyone. Take first aid training courses only on official Alberta websites, under no circumstances personally from any doctor! Take care of yourself)

Sitly is an online platform that allows parents and babysitters to get in contact with each other directly. We always encourage both babysitters and parents to have the initial contact on the platform and not switch to personal email / phone number immediately. This way our system can monitor conversations and we can pick out any suspicious profiles quicker. Besides this we also regularly send out warning messages to babysitters with information of what to be mindful of in contact with parents.
