Scam scam scam. There’s even been a watch dog program about this company. Avoid like the plague. See previous review below and yet they still continue to send me marketing emails and phone calls trying to sell me things. Borderline harassment.

They offer you a free membership but ask for your debit/credit card details.

Deduct money from you account claiming you have registered for a full membership.

Absolute scam. They will keep taking unauthorized amounts out of your account

Thanks to Trustpilot and the BBC's Rip of Britian I will not be falling victim to this scam company.
People should take a look at the free courses offered by Futurelearn.

Scam, been trying to withdraw money from my account when they offered a free trial, $72.44 is not free, $179 is not free. No response to emails or phone calls which go straight to answer machine. Stay clear, you been warned!!

Awful classes. Terrible app which doesn’t work well. Classes are made to appear like they are live and don’t allow you to skip forward or go back unless you pay. I’m pretty certain ShawAcademy sells your phone number to companies as leads for cold calls because shortly after registering with SA I started receiving frequent CCs (1 a day or every two days). Oh yeah, also expect to get bombarded by emails and text messages from ShawAcademy from the moment you sign up. On top of this, cancelling your subscription with them is very tedious and they make you jump through hoops (asking me to click through 4 cancellation confirmations to then give me an Australian phone number to call to REALLY confirm my cancellation).

Bottom line:
If this service was good, it would not have to rely on cheap tactics to retain customers.

Me suscribi solo para mirar de que se trata y a los 5 meses me llaman p decirme que hay una oportunidad exclusiva para estudiar Excel gratis.
1) Me pide la tarjeta, y como tengo 39 anos, contadora publica, con experiencia le digo. Perdon darte mi tarjeta de credito para una promocion gratis de que?
2) Me dice, no hay problema, te mandoi el link y 'te ayudo'. Entro al link que dice 'fue un gusto hablar contigo bla bla bla' de una casilla de correo muy rara (tengo experiencia con intentos de robo cybernetico). y le digo, ah mira, me pide la informacion de la tarjeta.

3)a lo que me contesta, ah.. es para Registrar -----------------------------(SILENCIO ABSOLUTO). Le digo, se corta, no puedo oir lo que dice.

4) Me llama al ratito diciendo que hubo un 'problema tecnico en la comunicacion' Le dije que no iba a darle la informacion de mi tarjeta a un curso que no se de que se trata.

5Conclusion, termina la comunicacion, ahora, busco el curso, y NO EXISTE! No hay curso de Excel en la pagina

6) Puse en Google opiniones y llego aca.

7) ahora fui a perfil y en mi numero de telefono puse el numero de donde me llamaron, de sud africa! puse su numero y en el correo puse un email inventado jaja.

8) Nunca paguen algo que dice gratis abran los ojos porfavor. Espero les sirva para la proxima vez.

I signed up for the free trial but cancelled it a week later never thought anything of it because I cancelled it until the following month I looked at my bank statement and got charged the full price then when I tried to cancel again and done everything I was meant to then it got to the phone call it came up with the wrong name. Then I contacted them through email now there saying I didn't answer my phone when they clearly didn't call me now I'm waiting again for someone to call me again. I just want my money back for something that I cancelled and there trying to get out of it every way they can. SCAM

I have tried to cancel and they keep charging me. This place is a scam! I am so frustrated.

Yo me puse en contacto con Shaw Academy en septiembre 2020 para cancelar mi subscripcion y pedirles que me devolvieran mi dinero, no me devolvieron el dinero pero me dijeron que no iban a volver a aplicar pagos en mi cuenta. Sin embargo, en marzo de este año intentaron hacer un cobro por AUD 68.99 y como no fue exitoso me hicieron varios descuentos en abril de este año, 2021. En ningun momento he realizado ninguna acción para solicitar la reactivacion de mi plan. Lo peor de todo es que en mi perfil de usuario de la página web no permiten eliminar la tarjeta que inscribí inicialmente como metodo de pago, es decir, a menos que bloquee la tarjeta, estoy condenada a que estos ladrones roben mi dinero cada vez que les de la gana.

Just a scam. Had a phone call after I signed up. The guy spoke intentionally quickly and asked how I was enjoying the app and if I planned to stay with them. Then later on I see that somehow translated to them taking £200 from my account. Trying to get a refund right now.

I contacted to cancel my account before the free trial had finished. They said they could suspended it so that i could continue when I had more time but I wouldn't be charged until I got back in contact. I was repeatedly assured this. I have now been charged.

They are refusing to refund and just are sending the same message repeatedly. Not happy. Do not use.

I signed up to a free Excel trial for a month last weekend, since then I have been contacted incessantly from different numbers, you can't even block their number from your texts.

£109.99 was taken from my bank two days later, I have no idea what this was for. I have not received an email or invoice. I have asked, and was practically told I was lying because they definitely sent the details. I have now been told they sent the details to the wrong email address, yet they still haven't sent me this information. Neither the invoice nor payment show up under billing on the academy portal.

I asked for a refund and was told they do not give refunds for promotional materials, is this against consumer rights? I had a call with them and was left in tears after a very frustrating 20 mins. They then signed me up to a year course instead of a refund, which I most definitely do not want.. they have since emailed to say that they have signed me up to lifetime access, free of cost, my account is now showing as £170.17 payment now due. Angry does not cover it!

The first call from the advisor was from Reading, the next day, same guy, Glasgow. Yeah right. Please send me my money back and delete all of my data from your website.

The worst experience I’ve ever had. After paying for a “free course”, I asked for a refund. They told me they couldn’t do that and instead offered a free course of bla bla bla. They wrote me an email and guarantee the suscription was cancelled so there won’t be future payments. Three months later, they charged me again.
I’ve been asking for a refund for the last two months and nobody answers my complaints. I even contact PayPal but they can’t help me.
Sorry about my english, I’m Uruguayan so my mother tongue is spanish.
Don’t trust Shaw Academy!!!!!! The worst nightmare EVER.

I joined for a 30 day free trial. The first payment was taken 4 days later. 5 months later, and they refuse to cancel my account. What on earth!

Shaw Academy also took funds out of my account on Christmas day, no permission. Just helped themselves, and their responce was, 'we don't do refunds, but we can give you this and a free that'. I had no agreement with them. I started the course during lock down, because I paid for a certificate I needed to work towards. It did not fit with my schedule of twice a week at a certain time. I needed flexi study and I did not want a diploma, I needed a refresher course. So I left it and a couple of months later, on Christmas day, they helped themselves, knowing there would be funds in my account. This was in 2020.

I so wish I had done more research before paying for a course with the Shaw Academy! I paid for a year's membership last year for some photography and creative courses whilst I was on furlough and in lockdown. The courses were ok .. ish, but the communication was dreadful and I began to be suspicious. Then I started reading the awful reviews.
I made sure that my subscription was cancelled and blocked my card to them with my bank. And I thought that was that.
This morning I have found Shaw Academy have taken two payments of £199.95 from my account. Speaking with my bank, it seems my card was blocked, but because the payment amount is different (much higher than the original) and their account name is very slightly different it was taken automatically.
I have now blocked them again and checked that my subscription was still cancelled. I found to my horror that I am apparently signed up for yearly subscriptions at nearly £600/annum! I've tried to cancel again, but now you have to make a call to a number that is not yet in service!
How this organisation is still able to function and get away with robbing people is beyond me.
Despite being on consumer programmes and in the british press, they are still managing to commit fraud. They need to be closed down!
Please don't do what I did. Take note of these reviews. They're sadly true.

It has now been over a month since I was promised a refund with nothing happening. They have also stopped responding to my messages. I think the government should get involved and shut this place down as quickly as possible.

They won’t stop calling me, they call me 3 or 4 times a day from different numbers so it’s not like I can block them. Never ever sign up with them.
