They are scamers, they send a free 30 days trial that you have to put your details on it, but it's impossible to cancel, and even if get to cancel they will still charge you. I even got no access at all at the courses and still was cherged 109.99£

They are extremelly difficult to contact and they made very difficult to get to cancel the subscription or to get a refund. I had to cancel my bank card and replace it in order to stop being stolen, still got no refund.

A total scam. When I initially registered with Shaw, they called to offer an extension of my membership by two months--without mentioning that the membership extension cost 100 pounds.

Additionally, they make cancelling your membership incredibly difficult, asking you to call a 'Student Guidance Manager' to discuss your cancellation. The 'Student Guidance Managers' in question? Little more than overworked call center employees.

I still receive texts and emails from Shaw every day. The marketing team pulls no punches here--fear mongering tactics, offering "discounts", presenting artificial countdowns, etc..

And finally, after a phone call in which I never verbally agreed to renew my account, they renewed my subscription anyways. So I have to go through the *entire* cancellation process all over again.

The general lack of clarity as to what you are purchasing, and their willingness to charge you large sums of money based on only verbal over-the-phone agreement, toes the line of legality in my opinion.

Stay away from Shaw Academy. Stay away from their predatory business practices. Stay away from their willingness to prey on people trying to transition careers or become educated in new fields.

They taken 130 out my account but only gave back 60 I never used the free course never scheduled a class I did this in March emailed them told them my passed away from covid by yall taking this mooney has shortened my rent they called from 8303315519 I want my money back I want to fly to Dublin I need to find who can I report this fraud SHaw scam scam academy I never was told bc u did not cancel your subscription you won't b refunded never was called about no signing up for classes but yall give me half my money talking they will give me a free subscription I want this company held responsible for the pain and agony this has calls me I lost my mother im not thinking bout no school im trying my best to learn how to live without my mom and mothers day is around the corner help me jesus

Absolute scam!
As many other reviewers, I had problems cancelling my "free" trial and got charged. I initiated dispute at my bank, but since I also noticed that the company started responding here at Trustpilot to negative reviews, I thought they are genuinely trying to fix their image and tactics. As expected Shaw academy promptly responded to my "scam" review, and promised a refund. My review was flagged and removed on Trustpilot "because at Shaw they don't believe you've had a genuine experience with them." So while on Trustpilot they stated I am not their customer, to me they promised refund. The refund hasn't arrived so I contacted Shaw inquiring about it. They said since I initiated a dispute at my bank, the funds are locked by my bank and can't go through. The refund transaction shows on their side as failed. The bank states they have no records of refund attempt. I contacted Shaw with the statement from the bank and asking them to reinitiate the refund as the bank says all clear, also asked them for receipt of the transaction. I haven't heard back from Shaw. Shaw is just bunch of liars and they screw people any way they can! They promise refunds to people who post bad reviews just to shut them up and have the bad reviews removed, without actually intending to do anything about the scam experience.

I signed up for a free trial offer for 14 days , I tried to cancel the subscription service before the time limit expired , the website did not allow me to , through the process I ended up signing on for a lifetime purchase because once you click the option it takes a payment without verifying what it is you are paying for . Then 2 days later they took a monthly subscription deduction which if I have a lifetime membership should not be deducted . 14 days later many promises , calls and emails I have not been refunded the deduction.

I received an email from my cellphone provider simple mobile about the promotion of four weeks free trial for any course at shaw academy. The promotion clearly states that no credit card is needed but only uses the code " Better me". So I went ahead and pressed on the link and to receive the Four weeks trial, they required the credit card information. So I got skeptical. I entered the credit card information. On April 25, 2021, I created an account. On April 26 I checked a photography course and I did not like the material nor the platform. They require you to pay to get a certificate and pay to download the material, hence I decided that this is not for me. So I tried to cancel my account/ credit card but the website wouldn't let me. I tried to cancel and they sent me a number to call during business hours. I also filed a form and send it to an email on their website. The next day April 27, I called the number to cancel and it was an automated message. I could not talk to an agent or anyone. Then I noticed under my account billing that they charged me $219.99 for a FULL YEAR MEMBERSHIP. They charged me without my authorization, not for a month or a certificate but a whole year. I issued a refund request and I received a call from an agent called Aileen S. She tried to convince me that I clicked on something to confirm the premium membership. I assured her I didn't. She insisted that an agent called me and got my approval for the membership. I told her that yes someone called me from Shaw academy but he had an accent and I did not quite understand what he said and I thought he was just welcoming me into the photography course but there was no agreement on paying $219,99 for a full year membership and I told her that agreements like these have to be in writing and I did not receive an email confirmation about this payment. She then said that she can issue only a $100 refund, I insisted that I want a full refund and I am in the first couple of days of the free trial and it is within my right as a consumer who doesn't like the product. When she could not get anywhere with me, she told me that she will call me in 24 hours. I did not receive any calls from her. I called my bank and disputed the charges, I also cancelled my credit card because I do not trust them, they might charge me for more stuff without my consent. I went to the internet and read the reviews and I started crying. They did the same thing with almost everyone who signs up for their four weeks free trials. I wasted 4 hours of my day on the phone with the bank, with the cellphone provider who sent me the email promotion to sort this out.

Signed up with it saying 4 weeks free then around 45 ish pound a month after then suddenly yesterday woke up to 99.95 out of my bank for no reason. Took forever to cancel my subscription. I've asked for a refund no reply and all over spamming my phone with odd phone calls and constant emails. Please may I have my money refunded as that's the money for my children and I to live on. Thank you

I'm in a constant battle to try and get a refund on this course for floristry I have not been able to complete due to "change of platform" I have done module 1. Then moaned and got told it would be free for a few more months so I could complete it. I got charged before the free months expired and now they won't refund any of it. I want all my money back. Not only this is robbery but this has caused me A LOT of distress and headache. And I still don't know how to be a florist!!!! I wrote an email to CAI hopefully they can help. OR if you see this review, please reply. I will repost this as many times as I can so people don't fall into their trap.

This is in relation to my first review. I was able to get away with my other subscription by following their tips, that is to change my payment details and pause the subscription. But, i am not still sure tho, they have their own ways to get money.

Going back to my other subscription, I was able to input my card details but when i tried to log in to my registered mail, it says it is not yet registered. Yesterday, i was charged 500 pesos from my unregistered subscription which i can’t even use. I immediately called the card provider, however their advice is to cancel my subscription to shaw academy which i think is impossible. I have no other option but to block my card and change it to a new one.

I'm being asked to remove this feedback. How funny is that when you cheat people all over the world for the worst study course? It's not only me but a thousand learner get the trap there. Can't believe trust pilot still keep them here =))) so ridiculous

Me inscribí para ver un curso de excel, metí como una tonta los datos de mi tarjeta (ofrecen 4 semanas gratuitas con acceso limitado a cursos).
Vi 2 min de un vídeo de excel y no me interesó en absoluto por lo que cancelé mi suscripción justo tras suscribirme.
Al cabo de 1 día recibo una llamada de un teléfono de Irlanda de un agente de la academia hablando con voz bajita para que no se escuche bien y acento muy cerrado. Me dice: eres una de las seleccionadas de 400 alumnos para disfrutar de cursos de la academia blabla (nunca dice nada de un pago ni nada). Más tarde me envía un email con asunto "IT WAS GREAT TO SPEAK TO YOU TODAY": you have successfully upgraded to a Shaw Academy Plan. En el email me dice que tengo acceso a materiales y diplomas en la web.
Entro de casualidad a mi cuenta bancaria y veo un cobro de 219.99€ de Shaw Academy. Enseguida me pongo en contacto con esa persona y con la academia para que me reembolsen ese cobro NUNCA AUTORIZADO por mi.
Tardan la vida en contestar y te llaman a través de otro agente para decirte que no es posible reembolsar ese curso ya que lleva promoción y te preguntan si has empezado disputa con el banco. Les dije que iba a confiar en que lo arreglásemos primero y si no había manera les iba a denunciar.
La chica que me llamó (también con voz bajita, acento cerrado, difícil de entender) no paraba de repetirme como un robot las mismas frases:

"I am afraid we are looking for the best for our students, as I explained it is not possible to refund you that course, you have limited access to all courses for life."

Le digo que nunca autoricé tal compra y que han sido ellos los que han hecho la compra sin mi permiso con los datos que introduje al principio. Y vuelta a lo mismo me repite esas frases.
Le insisto en que me devuelvan MI DINERO y sigue con las mismas, cuando sigo insistiendo me dice que debe hablarlo internamente y me dará una respuesta en 24h. Es mentira me habló 2 días más tarde. En esta llamada me dice que tras hablarlo internamente la solución que me puede dar es devolverme 100€. LIKE WTF. IT IS MY MONEY, NOT YOURS.
Me vuelve a repetir las mismas tonterías que en la primera llamada, insisto y me dice que va a intentar que me hagan el reembolso de 150€, y después lo sube a 180€. Vergüenza les tiene que dar. Obviamente seguí insistiendo pero como persona educada tampoco quise insultarle en la llamada (ojo, graban las llamadas así que tened cuidado con lo que digáis). Al final me vuelve a decir que lo tiene que consultar internamente y que me enviará un email. Le he dicho que lo quiero solucionado lo antes posible, quiero el reembolso de 100% y que al día siguiente iba a contactar con la policía y con mi banco. Cosa que haré.
No entiendo por qué hacen esto, ladrones. Igual prefieren insistir, porque si ganan, dinero que consiguen robar.
TENED CUIDADO POR FAVOR, hay que denunciar estos delitos para que no les pase a más gente.
Estoy harta de esto, sinvergüenzas. ¿Por qué nos obligáis a amenazar con denuncias? Si luego os viene peor porque vais a tener que devolver el dinero robado y os pondrán una multa!!!! Piensen con su cabeza por favor. MUY MALA EXPERIENCIA, no voy a parar hasta ver la devolución en mi cuenta bancaria. TENED CUIDADO Y NUNCA CAIGÁIS EN ESTA TRAMPA SIN SALIDA.
En la página web tienen los emails poco visibles para que no se encuentren, es imposible eliminar los datos bancarios y es imposible darse de baja. Te contestan tarde y lo alargan usando la excusa de que lo tienen que hablar internamente y en mi caso haciendo spam con emails de "retraso por covid".
HAY TUTORIALES EN YOUTUBE DE CÓMO HACER QUE TE DEVUELVAN EL DINERO ROBADO.
HAY MUCHOS TESTIGOS, VÍCTIMAS Y CASOS. NO SE SALDRÁN CON LA SUYA. ESTO LO VAN A SABER TODOS.

Luckily I freezed the transactions and they didn't take anything from me. They suppose to offer me a 4 weeks online courses for free. But they tried to do some transactions from my account with different amounts of money. I canceled my frozed card and I'll inform facebook and other authorities about their practices.

Wish I could leave 0 stars. Stay away from this 'Academy'. I was conned into taking a 1 year membership this time last year and have been trying to get Diplomas sent to me for completed courses since January 2021. No joy at all. I sent Shaw Academy a lot of emails to request them and have got every excuse in the book back from the liars:- ranging from technical issues to telling me I didnt finish final module exams - I have proof of every module I spent a lot of time on, completed and passed but still am getting no where.

When I signed up in May 2020, Shaw advertised their courses were EQF level 5 certified - I recently got a reply email from their support team telling me this accrediation stopped in 2019 so their 'accrediated' courses have been miss sold to me for sure. They should be called Scam Academy!!!

I have emailed them again asking that they cancel my membership, refund my money and delete my personal and financial information as per GDPR regulations. After emails coming back to me asking me to retake exams and me refusing they are now spamming my email account with a load of rubbish saying that staff are not available due to COVID-19. I get one email from them stating this every hour and have been for two days now. I will be continuing the fight with them on this though and hopefully will get a refund for a miss sold 1 year membership.

They deduct your amount from your credit card even after we cancel the subscription. They don’t refund the money back as well

They are not trust worthy, shaw academy is a scam and they are taking advantage of lockdown and scaming innocent people, they will scam you your money and when you ask for a refund they'll start ignoring your emails. I tried calling them but everytime i mentioned a refund they disconnected my calls. Now my calls gets rejected every time i call. Dont give them your card details, they'll continuously take your money without notifying you.
