Absolutely wonderful service I bought two trees and Azalea and a cherry blossom. They were shipped to Ireland. I just cannot say enough about the packaging. It was very efficiently shipped gorgeous trees. They showed up healthy. I just can’t say enough great things about them! My goodness I am so pleased with how the trees arrived to my wife.

Scammers!!! Stay away from them!!! I should read reviews before ordering from them!!! All 5 star reviews definitely fake!!! Received my bonsai trees from China not Japan , all squeezed, dried and no leaves, completely dead, when reached out to customer service they replied it’s normal, just wait. Waited for two weeks they just got more dry nothing changed!

I received my first ever product (a full-grown sakura cherry bonsai) on January 16, 2025 --- I reside in Arizona. I was concerned about the long transit time. I even reached out and checked in with the company midway through transit time to make sure that delivery was on course. Customer service has been friendly each time, every time that I reached out --- providing answers to any and all questions. In fact, the company provided a very thoughtful, helpful email to me shortly after purchase that went through all the proper care of my bonsai post-shipment - and what to expect, given the time of year and the season - e.g., it is currently the time of year when the tree is dormant. Today (1/28/25), I saw my bonsai budding. It is ready for spring --- and I felt my heart smile. I reached out to the company to share how happy I am with my bonsai - and they reached out - within the hour. Yuki from customer service was exceptionally thoughtful and welcoming. This is my first bonsai experience - and the company is exceptional. Very communicative - and willing to connect to answer any and all questions.

I ordered an osaka pine bonsai and it was shipped 13 days ago. I had asked about tracking information and was assured that I would have a delivery date from Canada Post after a gap while it got from Japan to Canada. That's exactly what transpired. I received my little tree today in PRISTINE condition on one of the coldest afternoons of this winter. It had been carefully ( thermally ) wrapped for international transport and arrived EXACTLY as advertised.
I hope that I can ensure that this wonderful bonsai will have a long and happy life after its beginnings in the greenhouses of Spirit of Japan. I will definitely be a return customer. I highly recommend this company.

Excellent bonsai and phenomenal customer service. The Spirit of Japan team walked me through the bonsai’s recovery process after transit to the US. A Japanese gentleman friend saw a picture of our tree yesterday and thought it looked fabulous. Will definitely buy from them again!!

Pro: prompt customer service response
Con: took weeks to see shipping updates; still don't have my package despite the updated tracking info they sent me after escalation from their ‘greenhouse’ showing it was delivered; after conversing with the customer service rep, I apparently didn’t order an established live mini cherry blossom tree as shown on the website but a pack of seeds.

Had I known I wouldn’t have wasted my time or money. I’m unhappy all across the board. I wish I had done my research before ordering. Apparently the ‘plant’ doesn’t even come from Japan, but China. Never.. ever.. again.

Received the 3 kokedamas here in Los Angeles. The kokedamas made it all the way from Japan. They were in great shape and expect them to be growing soon. The plants and the moss are so pretty and healthy. Very happy with this purchase.

They’re amazing and super responsive customer service. I made a purchase for a bonsai. Unfortunately, the first shipment was completely smashed - like completely flat pancake - but no fault to Spirit of Japan. I emailed them and showed them pictures. Even without asking for anything, they replied within 10 minutes and offered to send out another shipment. Super courteous and kind. It was so great. I’ll definitely buy more from them in the future

If I could 0 stars, I would! :)) The website claims to be from Japan, but they ship out from China; the product page is purposefully misleading. They showed a bonsai plant but sent seeds… I mean… I guess they’re creative.

I am super disappointed! I was excited to grow my own wisteria tree but my order never got an update or never arrived. I can't believe I didn't check trustpilot before purchasing.

Seems that is is a scam! Paced order doesn't move forward and I didn't received any reply to my email.

Be careful! They lie about everything! I asked them if they would use the proper import documentation. They told me they work with a very trusted greenhouse supplier. They send all around the world. The package arrived labelled as loose stickers. No import documents. My country sterilises any seeds or wooden items to kill any bugs. This kills the seeds. The seeds came from china. They are not truthfully. They also don't know how to grow these seeds.

Don't waste your time and money. It all comes from China. What you see in the pictures is NOT what you get. You'll be disappointed.

What they actually showed in the figures in the ads was a plant, and what I received was a few seeds. After I contacted them, they said that I was mistaken because, technically, the description text provided in the ad could have implied not only actual plant, but also just the seeds!

I received my order tonight, and at first I could not fathom what it possibly was. Then I looked at the label and figured it out. I was under the distinct impression that I had purchased five small bonsai trees — three little Japanese Sakura/cherry blossom trees and two wisteria. All that I received were five tiny packets of seeds. Are they serious? The photos on the website displayed actual bonsai trees in attractive pots. There were no seeds shown. The word “seed” is not even mentioned! I have neither the desire nor the gardening ability to try to grow trees from a little packet of seeds. On top of that, I certainly never, ever, EVER would have paid $59.95 for a handful of seeds! Shocked by the degree to which I felt duped and deceived, I proceeded to search for reviews of the website online. What I discovered was that countless others had reacted just as I had. They also believed that they were ordering actual bonsai trees, not just seeds. Many noted that they had made an effort to plant the seeds anyway, but had had no luck. The seeds would not actually sprout. Based on that, and the degree to which I feel taken advantage of, I do not want to waste my time. I would like to return the seeds at once for a full refund. However, countless other customers noted that they had written to the company demanding refunds and had gotten no reply, so I have little hope. That website shows actual trees, not seeds. I feel deeply disappointed and deceived. They should at least have the common decency to take this pitiful order back and return my payment.

Made a purchase from them if a few items. Some arrived separately which is ok. The seed packs, not all the seeds grew, but got some going. I also got a tanto knife and some art which I'm super happy with.

Overall good experience, but I'd be happy if 100% of the seeds grew.

0 stars. Scam. Sent late - no responses to enquiries to return product. Overpriced and very DISHONEST.

Seeds became mushy.Tried every possible way to make them grow and none worked.Seeds from china do not reccommend at all.

It’s a motherfuker scam, please block this website, they even want to take more money from my credit card, and they think the credit card company doesn’t know anything fk u !!!!!Go hell and the app, Instagram is helping this kind of fake website to earn more income when I report their website advertise, it shows they didn't block it !!
