Great product horrible customer service. Watch Sioicon Valley. All the computer geeks are so busy patting themselves on the back and when they look at their agent who’s a regular person,, she’s not impressed at all because the product though advanced doesn’t speak to the average person. You guys are brilliant but you forget the most important thing, people aren’t dollar signs $$$ and nobody want to be ignored. Take some business classes. Take it from someone who’s been in business since he was probably your age many years ago. The business acumen seven in the time of the emails is not professional.

The idea is absolutely fantastic and I'm playing a lot, but the product looks more like a prototype than a final product.
1. the app is very poor. During game there are very important missing info, for example the score of the captured pieces. Very often it gets stuck and you lost the game. On top of that is impossible to use the smartphone because it's battery killing. It doesn't neither turn horizontally
2. the rubber of the board is full of waves. I'm playing since days, I rolled it in opposite direction and put some weights on it. It improve but far away to be considered a quality board.
3. The pieces are neither in resins. Just very light plastic. I mean, it is a 200$ chessboard. I would expect at least resin pieces with a certain weight.
Pity because the design of the pieces is very nice.

So it's a very nice starting point, but far to be a very high quality product. Looking forward to new versions.

I was hesitant about not being able to talk to customer service, but I found Sq Off was very responsive via email and facilitated my return and purchase of the Grand Kingdom.

Outstanding quality, craftsmanship, and loads of fun. Each level challenge is you that’s what I like about SquareOff.

The Chess board is state of the art, works well.

works fine on platforms like chess dot com, whitout issues or errors

I'm facing a problem since the last three weeks, my Square Off board is not connecting to the Chess.com. This wasn't the case before. I've updated my app as well. Please look into it. Thank You.

when the red led turns on it is very difficult to correct.
Sometimes it is corrected repeating the last moves but many times it is not.

SQUARE OFF PRO is my favorite method of practice before I play in rated tournament games. It also allows for post game analysis and that is invaluable in understanding where mistakes were made. Great chess board and its portability is brilliant!

Viktor the chess coach is missing and custom positions have to be unlocked those are the main negatives. If there is an error in a position say a piece is knocked over or moved due to turning the board or however an incorrect position may occur it takes multiple tries to get the board to recognize it's fixed and the beeping errors are all the same so you may not know what the issue is. With all of this aside I still love the board because I can play otb essentially without another person at the board and that is why I purchased it initially after all. The only other point I'd like to make is I would like to see the opponents rating when the game starts, I do not see that displayed on the app. If I am playing other square off board owners it would be nice to have sections for beginners and intermediate level players as of now it seems it's either no starting rating or 1600 to 1800 so I haven't played other square off members yet. Amazing products but delivery takes AGES, literally 8 MONTHs for chess pieces!?!?

Good game experience. Bad delivery time. The app has to be more developed, for example it´s not easy to accept friends, sometimes the conection playing online fails and is difficult to find rivals.

It didn’t work and no one from customer service got back to me

App is bad. Not reliable in online games. Experience is for squareoff pro.Battery drains so fast. Needs to charge after every couple of games.

I love how square off pairs with my Grand Kingdom chess set.

My chess board was shipped promptly. My Square Off is great. I have had difficulty figuring out how to use it to play aginst opponents in chesscom or lichess, but I have played against the board's engine and against other Square Off Pro users.
