Disingenuous business model. Avoid Starter Plan

All too similar experience to the 1-star reviews below... Charged over $500 (which was advertised as a monthly price by charged annually = misleading). Limited data and graphs on the Starter plan (more or less information that can be found on Google); any insight requires a massive price jump to a Corporate subscription. I'll own my mistake and make use of my plan as best I can. Hopefully, my recommendation is to avoid the Starter plan; there's minimal value for the cost.

I also imagine if you're a large corporate, you're better off commissioning your own primary research or purchasing specific secondary research reports. The Statista business model is disingenuous at best...

I accidentally purchased a year's worth…

I accidentally purchased a year's worth of subscription (the price was advertised monthly initially)
Proceeded to ask for a refund in the next 2 days with no response. Luckily when I purchased the single account I got an email "You're finally getting started at Statista."- title which was from the customer relations team. I wrote an email to them and they replied back that they canceled my services from the next year 2024 and also mentioned that they can't refund me.
Paying 550+ USD I still don't have access to a lot of data which requires an enterprise upgrade.
Bad service! Bad business model! They should focus more for individuals.

Ich habe im Jahr 2022 mit meiner…

Ich habe im Jahr 2022 mit meiner Kreditkarte ein Jahresabo gelöst. Ein Jahr später schickt mir Statista eine Rechnung per E-Mail für eine erneute Jahresmitgliedschaft, ich konnte nicht Mal mehr kündigen. Die Firma ist sehr unseriös und arbeitet mit einer Abofalle in den AGB. Werde die Firma in Zukunft meiden. Trotz Kontakt mit Mitarbeiter zeigt die Firma keinerlei Verständnis.

Lieber Herr Fritsche,

unsere AGBs sind außerordentlich transparent und sind jederzeit abrufbar, falls man die entsprechenden Dokumente, die man bei der Buchung erhalten hat, nicht mehr wiederfindet.
Auch während eines Buchungsvorgangs mit Kreditkarte weisen wir mehrfach auf unsere Kündigungsfristen und die Tatsache hin, dass sich die Laufzeit des Accounts um ein weiteres Jahr verlängert, wenn nicht spätestens 6 Wochen vor Ablauf des Accounts gekündigt wird. Leider wird häufig vergessen zu erwähnen, dass "man es einfach nicht gelesen hat".
Auch die Kündigung zum aktuellen Laufzeitende wurde unmittelbar entgegen genommen und bestätigt.
Trotzdem bedauern wir sehr, hier einen unseriösen Eindruck hinterlassen zu haben.

Scammers

Scammers. Misleading. You show a monthly price and then charged for an entire year. After 2 days I noticed that the information was useless, statistics are useless for my business. When I cancelled my subscription they notified me that no refunds will be issued. I was charged almost $500 for a useless platform. You should do better.

Ich habe noch nie so eine schlechte…

Die Sperren dein account auf einmal wie Sie möchten, dann ist mann wieder gezwungen die anzurufen und bitten um freischalten etc.
Rausgeschmissenes Geld, wenn Sie sich bisschen mehr Zeit nehmen bei Recherchen dann finden Sie die gleichen Statistiken wie bei denn.

Antwort an Statista:
Wie bitte??? Ich habe Sie Kontaktiert??? Wenn Sie grundlos meinen ACC Sperren zwingen Sie Quasi denn Kundensupport zu Kontaktieren und das nennen Sie dann Parallel Kontakt oder was???.
2. Ich habe 14 Tage Zeit um meine Rechnung zu begleichen und SIE Sperren meinen ACC vor 14 Tage und das nennen Sie AGB oder was???.
Einfach nur Schrecklich mit euch, so eine Seite aber so Schlechte Mitarbeiter die auch noch so einen Unsinn Schreiben hier rein, echt.

If you have money to burn...

Like others, we didn't understand fully the message that the billing is for the whole year at once. They quote a number per month which is redundant as you can't pay by month. As much as they say it is well communicated, they have a duty of care to ensure purchasers know the terms of their purchase. The statistics available are not good enough to warrant this price and terms of the contract. Customer service is very "computer says "no"". Wouldn't recommend.

Horrendous experience! Scammed by this site

I was charged for a year rather than a month, I don't have access to data I saw when in free mode u less I update to premium which I do not want to do. Called the customer service severally but got no answer. I want a refund as the site isn't useful for me if I don't upgrade to premium and I also want to take my card details off to prevent further direct debits in future but I have not been able to. I am really stressed and in a financial fix as a result of the craftiness of this site and the huge debit I got. Not a pleasant experience at all.

J'ai tjrs eu envie de prendre un compte statista. J'ai fantasmé pendant des années le bénéfice qui en découlerait. Grossière erreur. L'offre pro indiv n'a pas où peu d'intérêt. Je rejoins les commentaires du dessous : embarquer les clients sur un abo d'un an, ça donne vraiment l'impression d'être pris pour un dindon.

Autrement dit : ne prenez pas de compte indiv vous le regretterez.

This is scam why would you not allow…

This is scam why would you not allow cancelation after a day of using your not so helpful site. Why would you charge 1 whole year of subscription?! Your site isn't even helpful as all the information are confidential unless otherwise we upgrade the subscription to a very hefty fee? Disgusting!

This is really not a good source for info.

When searching in the free version, it showed us results that we thought might be interesting. When we paid, we discovered the reports mentioned were just not there. We contacted the customer service, they looked together with us, they had to admit it didn't exist. In the search, we download 2 "premium reports", which turned out to be 2 one pagers with 1 graph on them.
We requested a refund after half an hour of searching, but we didn't get it. There was a proposal for a bit of discount but we don't want the service. So we ended up paying but never using it.
This is really one of the worst customer AND product experiences ever. Defo not worth the try, you'll be scammed.
