We had just the most amazing holiday.
The best thing was that we didn’t had to do anything, planning, bookings, flights, everything was done nicely, everything was very smooth, I finally felt that I am on vacation. And even the best part was that in our time away we had a 24/7 customer service which again was so helpful. And the really amazing part that wasn’t expensive at all.

We had a fantastic holiday to Borneo organised by Laura. The booking process, planning, and whole experience was exceptional. The drivers and guides were all knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We loved the high-energy adventure and diverse, immersive lodging. There were so many highlights to our holiday, one was seeing the dusk bat exodus at Gomantong caves whilst an orangutan was setting up a nest for the night. Sakau and the Kinabatangan stay was special, we were lucky to see the Borneo Big 5 and so much more. Our stay at Borneo Rainforest Lodge, Danum Valley was wonderful, waking up to the dawn chorus of the jungle. The staff were genuinely friendly and the service was fantastic with a strong focus on preserving the rainforest.

Laura organised us an unbelievable trip to Borneo that took in all of the wildlife, a few days at a luxury hotel on the beach and a couple of days in Kuala Lumpur.
I was apprehensive as we were travelling with a 5 year old and we've never been on this kind of holiday before but I needn't have been.
Laura tailored our trip to be adventerous and to see all of the sites but still child friendly and at a pace we could all enjoy.
The hotels and lodges were fantastic and every flight, transfer and boat was organised to perfection. All we had to do was sit back and enjoy it. Genuinely a holiday of a lifetime

Thank you so much to Lucy & Rhianna for organising our trip to Cambodia and Vietnam - everything went seamlessly from beginning to end. The itinerary was just perfect. Can’t recommend Sundowner Holidays enough!

I spent a good deal of time researching Costa Rica holidays and found that many of the others fail to specify which hotel you will stop at (this one or similar), are vague on the transportation times and include numerous filler visits to places you may not visit under your own steam! Not so Sundowner- they are clear on the details they provide and have the flexibility for you to plan your own itinerary with helpful suggestions along the way. The result was an excellent experience that ran like clockwork. Costa Rica was fabulous the people are wonderfully friendly even in places where it is not their job to be so. The wildlife, sloths, monkeys, poisoned dart frogs, toucans, macaws, turtles humpback whales, a manta ray we saw the lot. Tortuguero and the OSA Peninsula are another world. Sarapiqui a great decision to stop on the way to the impressive Arenal. Monteverde and Manuel Antonio too, if you can visit all these you won’t go far wrong.
Would we book with Sundowner again - definitely without hesitation and that’s probably the main thing you need to know. Their communication is excellent.

If there were 6 stars we’d give Kat and Lucy all six! We had an excellent trip to South Africa, everything we asked for happened, and all went completely smoothly. The accommodation Was perfect for us, the helpfulness of staff at all the locations was amazing, we cannot find fault with anything. Hence next trip on the horizon!

We recently travelled with Sundowners on a last minute holiday to Thailand and Laos for 3 weeks
I can honestly say the experience was exceptional from start to finish.

Every detail of our trip was handled with real care and precision. The transfers were seamless, well-organised, and completely stress-free, which made a huge difference after travelling. Our accommodation exceeded expectations — it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into selecting somewhere that offered both comfort and quality.

What truly stood out, however, was the level of support we received when things didn’t go to plan. Due to the conflict in the Middle East, our flights were unexpectedly cancelled. During what could have been a very stressful situation, Sundowners were outstanding. They kept us fully informed every step of the way, communicated clearly, and ensured we were well looked after. The alternative accommodation they arranged for us was excellent, allowing us to feel safe, comfortable, and reassured until we were able to return home.

It’s rare to find a company that delivers not only when everything runs smoothly, but also goes above and beyond when challenges arise. Sundowners did exactly that.

We wouldn’t hesitate to travel with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, professional, and genuinely caring holiday company.

We have just returned from Borneo after a wonderful trip wildlife watching with a few days on the beach tagged on. It was marvellous, from seeing wild orang-utans to the fabulous bird life, crocs, snakes (at a respectful distance!) and a rare sighting of a wild boar. The organisation, help, advice and itinery by Sundowners was exceptional beyond the call of duty. Every last detail was taken care of. We usually organise our trips independently but would use Sundowners again for a voyage into the unknown!

Laura and the team delivered an amazing experience to Sri Lanka. The accommodation was first class, great trips , culture and beach stays all surpassed our expectations. Communication & response times were excellent & the itinerary very detailed . Nothing was too much trouble . Would definitely use Sundowner again.

A perfectly crafted holiday to India (Dehli, Rajasthan and Kerala) which worked like clockwork. Wonderful boutique/heritage hotels; every detail thought of and covered. Periplus India, who were the local travel agency, were absolutely outstanding showing care and consideration throughout. Excellent drivers, local Periplus representatives and local expert guides. We really cannot recommend Sundowners highly enough. Thank you for another superb holiday!

Our recent trip to Sri Lanka is our third “big holiday” booked through Sundowners - we previously visited South Africa and Borneo. All three holidays were excellent thanks to Sundowners - they understand what type of accommodation that we like, listen to any budget constraints, and work hard to put together tailored itineries to suit our needs.
The travel portal app that they use is great for keeping on top of what your plans are each day when you are on holiday - useful for a holiday like ours where we stayed at 8 hotels in 2 weeks.
At the booking stage we’ve found Sundowners to be really responsive, and good at sending just the right amount of communication prior to travel. They work with great people on the ground in each of the countries that we have visited - always a bit of a concern when you may be spending a lot of your holiday time with an unknown guide ! In every country we found that the in country representatives massively added to our holidays. We highly recommend Sundowners. Thank you.

We had an amazing trip to KL and Borneo with Sundowner, the whole experience from first contact to getting back was first class, and reasonably priced for the brilliant service that you get. Lucy and Kat were so helpful beforehand and during the trip with any queries and the travel portal app is great to see your itinerary, all impt info, and it updates live if any changes are made (very useful when you have internal flights!). This was our third trip with Sundowner. We return because we have found them to be a company that listens and goes the extra mile.
They cross the t's and dot the i's, offering well planned trip's with incredible accommodation, Great drivers and knowledgeable guides. Everything is taken care of. All you have to do is pack and know you have the most wonderful adventures ahead.
Having booked a trip to Tanzania, two days before we were due to depart the FO advised against all but essential travel. James was contactable on a Sunday and was working at gone midnight to change our trip to Kenya instead. Within 3 days we were on our way to Kenya. James had managed to arrange the most incredible Safari at unbelievable lodges in breathtaking locations. Demonstrating the level of service provided should an unexpected problem arise. Sundowner are a company that offers outstanding personalised holidays with reassurance guaranteed.

Did a 20 day holiday including New Zealand, French Polynesia and Japan. Best in class service: Extremely organized, quick to respond, always online for our needs. App with all the needed info is really helpful and the entire journey was seamless. Would recommend to anyone anytime.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience staying at the Kinabatangan River and seeing the Borneo big 5.
The whole holiday was planned very well and ran smoothly.

Kuala Lumpur - Borneo - Gaya Island - 4th to 18th October 2025.....what a fantastic time we had! 😃

Kuala Lumpur at the start - the Magestic Hotel is just that..... magestic! Would definitely go back to Kuala Lumpur to explore a bit more. We had pre-booked to do the Petronus Towers and a whole day private city tour, both of which were fantastic things to do.

The Borneo/rainforest/river section was truly incredible - absolutely love the way you're told to be at a certain place at a certain time...I am the queen of being organised so it was right up my street! We were so lucky to see all the wildlife we saw too....my favourite pic attached was from the Orangutan Centre. Our guide, Zaimi, was so so knowledgeable and so lovely too 🙂

And lastly, Gaya Island Resort, wow, absolutely stunning! It was so nice to find that the extra bits we had included had been booked in already so we didn't have to think about it. The massages were incredible! Spending 5 nights there was the perfect relaxation time that we needed.

I am always a little reluctant to give 5 stars to anything, as there is usually always room for improvement, however, on this occasion, I genuinely cannot think of anything that could have been done better. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. Perhaps the end wasn't quite so great, I had to come home and I really didn't want to!
In terms of the service provided in arranging the holiday, the service was professional and prompt. Laura at Sundowner took details of the trips and places I would like to see and arranged a fabulous itinerary based on my preferences. She made the process very easy.
The trip itself was well planned. The transfers between lodges all worked well, and the guides were knowledgeable and attentive throughout, even noticing where Richard and I liked to sit for meals. We didn't ask, they just noted it. The guides without fail ensured that we got the most out of our trips
They were also great at letting us know what our next trip included and reminding us of timings and what we might need on the trip. I cannot fault their service.
The accommodation was amazing throughout, particularly Gaya Island Resort, which was beautifully presented and maintained. The private beach was an additional bonus and the spa treatment welcome at the end of the holiday.
The food throughout was plentiful, with a huge amount of choice and great quality.
We had a such fantastic time and everything went so smoothly, I have no hesitation in recommending Sundowner or using them again in the future.
