We had an amazing trip to KL and Borneo with Sundowner, the whole experience from first contact to getting back was first class, and reasonably priced for the brilliant service that you get. Lucy and Kat were so helpful beforehand and during the trip with any queries and the travel portal app is great to see your itinerary, all impt info, and it updates live if any changes are made (very useful when you have internal flights!). We would not hesitate in booking with Sundowner again. Already browsing the website for our next trip, hopefully to Thailand! Thanks, Laura and Gary.

This was our third trip with Sundowner. We return because we have found them to be a company that listens and goes the extra mile.
They cross the t's and dot the i's, offering well planned trip's with incredible accommodation, Great drivers and knowledgeable guides. Everything is taken care of. All you have to do is pack and know you have the most wonderful adventures ahead.
Having booked a trip to Tanzania, two days before we were due to depart the FO advised against all but essential travel. James was contactable on a Sunday and was working at gone midnight to change our trip to Kenya instead. Within 3 days we were on our way to Kenya. James had managed to arrange the most incredible Safari at unbelievable lodges in breathtaking locations. Demonstrating the level of service provided should an unexpected problem arise. Sundowner are a company that offers outstanding personalised holidays with reassurance guaranteed.

Did a 20 day holiday including New Zealand, French Polynesia and Japan. Best in class service: Extremely organized, quick to respond, always online for our needs. App with all the needed info is really helpful and the entire journey was seamless. Would recommend to anyone anytime.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience staying at the Kinabatangan River and seeing the Borneo big 5.

Kuala Lumpur - Borneo - Gaya Island - 4th to 18th October 2025.....what a fantastic time we had! 😃

Kuala Lumpur at the start - the Magestic Hotel is just that..... magestic! Would definitely go back to Kuala Lumpur to explore a bit more. We had pre-booked to do the Petronus Towers and a whole day private city tour, both of which were fantastic things to do.

The Borneo/rainforest/river section was truly incredible - absolutely love the way you're told to be at a certain place at a certain time...I am the queen of being organised so it was right up my street! We were so lucky to see all the wildlife we saw too....my favourite pic attached was from the Orangutan Centre. Our guide, Zaimi, was so so knowledgeable and so lovely too 🙂

And lastly, Gaya Island Resort, wow, absolutely stunning! It was so nice to find that the extra bits we had included had been booked in already so we didn't have to think about it. The massages were incredible! Spending 5 nights there was the perfect relaxation time that we needed.

I am always a little reluctant to give 5 stars to anything, as there is usually always room for improvement, however, on this occasion, I genuinely cannot think of anything that could have been done better. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. Perhaps the end wasn't quite so great, I had to come home and I really didn't want to!
In terms of the service provided in arranging the holiday, the service was professional and prompt. Laura at Sundowner took details of the trips and places I would like to see and arranged a fabulous itinerary based on my preferences. She made the process very easy.
The trip itself was well planned. The transfers between lodges all worked well, and the guides were knowledgeable and attentive throughout, even noticing where Richard and I liked to sit for meals. We didn't ask, they just noted it. The guides without fail ensured that we got the most out of our trips
They were also great at letting us know what our next trip included and reminding us of timings and what we might need on the trip. I cannot fault their service.
The accommodation was amazing throughout, particularly Gaya Island Resort, which was beautifully presented and maintained. The private beach was an additional bonus and the spa treatment welcome at the end of the holiday.
The food throughout was plentiful, with a huge amount of choice and great quality.
We had a such fantastic time and everything went so smoothly, I have no hesitation in recommending Sundowner or using them again in the future.

We used Sundowner to arrange both our holiday and our wedding in South Africa, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. From the very start, Jo, Caitlin and the whole team handled the planning with real precision and care, always going the extra mile knowing how important the trip was for us. They were patient with my foibles and brilliant at accommodating the needs of our wider party too.

Everything ran so smoothly, and on the one occasion where there was a small issue with a hotel, it was resolved immediately without fuss. That gave us real peace of mind throughout the trip.

A really easy company to work with. They suggested a supa schedule for us to tour Vietnam and Cambodia which we fine tuned and added too. The flights they arranged for us were exactly what we were after - they really listened to our requirements. The holiday itself was fabulous. All the hotels suggested and booked by Sundowners were exceptional. And the drivers and guides were the best - really friendly, informative and full of local knowledge. Each element was tailored to our needs. It's obvious that the team behind Sundowners are passionate about travel and providing the best experience for their customers. Every transfer was seamless, every hotel perfect and each activity well organised and enjoyable. I won't hesitate to use them again.

Excellent attention to detail by the office staff and the local staff in Vietnam. As a result everything went smoothly and even a typhoon did not cause major disruption to our holiday. The hotels were beautiful and we particularly liked range of accommodation styles that Sundowner chose - homestay, resort, city hotel. We would very strongly recommend Sundowner to anyone looking for a private tour.

Everyone we spoke with at sundowner was amazing from the get go, they helped me plan every section of our honeymoon and were extremely responsive throughout! They were really knowledgable about the areas I wanted to stay and have great recommendations for accommodation and things to do whilst we were in Zanzibar. As I was not familiar with Zanzibar at all before booking, the detail in the itinerary you get sent was so helpful. All our transfers were prearranged for us making getting around the island seamless. They even went above and beyond by helping me organise special surprises for my husbands birthday with the hotels directly. They really took into account everything we wanted from our trip and it felt so tailored to us, we got everything we asked for and more. The places we stayed were better than we ever could have imagined and it wouldn’t have been the amazing trip it was without their help, I would highly recommended booking your next trip through them! We've used Sundowners for two holidays now, both for a group of eight people - one to Sri Lanka and the other Malaysia/Borneo. On each occasion they have been brilliant so I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a great adventure!

Our trip went like clockwork? Flights , transfer everything. The trip exceeded our expectations, drivers and guides were friendly and helpful. The guides on the river and at the lodges were brilliant, their knowledge was exceptional, in particular ‘Ron’. The food cooked for us by the local women at the jungle lodges, was delicious. We were looked after every step of the way. Even when we couldn’t remember what we were doing next our guide did, it was a fantastic trip, the highlight has to be seeing the orangutans in the wild, as well as the sun bears, elephants, crocodiles, 3 million bats fly out of a cave, flying lemas, flying squirrels, proboscis monkeys, storks, horn billed toucans, numerous exotic birds, insect, snakes, we feel so lucky thank you

Lucy and the team helped us plan an amazing trip across Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. Responses to emails were swift and patience with requests for changes and questions during planning were no problem. We stayed at a number of different lodges across 3 countries and hired a vehicle. All went smoothly with no issues. Would not hesitate to use Sundowner again.

We have just returned from our first trip to Thailand. We absolutely loved it. Andrew put together an amazing schedule and added some trips we would never have thought of. The guides and drivers were brilliant and it made for a very relaxing trouble free holiday. He also arranged for ice boxes to travel with us for some medication. We would certainly recommend and use Sundown Holidays again.

We have just returned from a brilliant family trip to Costa Rica arranged by Lucy at Sundowner Holidays. The whole trip was organised brilliantly and completely met our expectations and more. This is the second time we have used Sundowner Holidays and would definitely recommend them and will use them again.

Just returned from a bucket-list holiday to Borneo tailored for us by Lucy at Sundowner. This was our first Sundowner holiday, and will definitely not be our last.
We liked the fact it was easy to look at the different options, and we ended up with something that suited us very well. A short stay in Kuala Lumpur, followed by a week in the rainforest photographing the wildlife, followed by a week on Gaya Island relaxing on the beach. From seeing what other couples ended up with it seems not all travel agents are created equal, we soon appreciated the level of detail in the booking, from A/C in every room to letting the hotel know it was my birthday. The in country reps and details went seamlessly, quite often others were left waiting for their driver to turn up, ours were always there. Before we left for Borneo we had the chance to visit the Sundowner office, and they are as nice in person as they are online. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the company, and will be booking our next adventure soon with them.
