Well where to begin, what an amazing team!
After discovering Sundowner Holidays we didn’t look back.
A phone conversation with Lucy to discuss our trip requirements immediately put me at ease when I realised then how knowledgeable and helpful the team are.
Our itinerary and requests were swiftly organised (6 of us travelling) and we were ready to go on a trip of a lifetime to Borneo.
EVERYTHING was FANTASTIC from flights of which there were 5, boats to get to various destinations of which I have lost count, were seamlessly planned.
A BIG THANK YOU to our amazing jungle guide Bryant whose knowledge, kindness and ability to find creatures we didn’t even know existed was incredible. It wouldn’t be an understatement to say Bryant made our jungle experience perfect! A visit to a local village house for lunch, the big 5, tea and biscuits on the river when stopping to search for jungle life and great company!
Onto Gaya island, again seamless transfers and lovely staff.

Sundowner Holidays organised our recent holiday to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Everything was well organised, from the customised holiday to the detailed daily itinerary. The accommodation selected was excellent and very personal, the largest hotel being 11 rooms. Responses to any queries were quickly received. On our return, Sundowner Holidays contacted us to find out if we were happy with the holiday, which we were, and to elicit any possible improvements. Based upon this holiday experience, we can thoroughly recommend Sundowner Holidays.

I found Sundowners by chance on the web and as they were local for us we contacted them. Hannah organised our trip in October last year for us putting together an itinerary we could cover in 2 weeks and get the most out our trip to Borneo. Cannot fault them. All transfers and connections were seamless and took all the stress out of getting about. The hotels and lodge all of a great standard and staff welcoming. The price was very competitive, and we would use Sundowners again for this type of trip. They have the knowledge and expertise to arrange your holiday to what you want but take the work and hassle out of trying to plan it yourself. Thanks again.

We came across Sundowner whilst researching a trip to Borneo. We were slightly concerned about booking with them as their prices were lower than their larger competitors. We needn't have worried.
From our initial phone call the team at Sundowner provided outstanding service.
We explained what we were wanting from the trip and a detailed itinerary was soon put together. We were able to tweak this to establish our perfect getaway.
The drivers were on time, courteous and drove carefully. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, friendly and professional.

My wife and I booked this holiday through Sundowner holidays last year. We had an outstanding and enjoyable holiday. We arrived and our driver was waiting at Colombo airport ready to take us to our first hotel. Sundowner had put together our itinerary and after a few tweaks everything went along smoothly, we were impressed with the hotels chosen for us, especially the Grand in Nuwera Eliya. all in all it was a superb holiday. we shall certainly go back to Sri Lanka, the People are so polite. And, unlike India. you do not get any hassle as soon as you walk out of your hotel.

We have just returned from a holiday in Sri Lanka. It was the best holiday that we have ever had. The hotels were all first class and special mention must go to Buckingham Place which was superb. All of our rooms were spacious and well served by hugely friendly and accommodating staff. Throughout the food was excellent and while we love curry there was always alternatives.

The itinerary was well thought out and we had a good mixture of culture, wildlife and experience of the lovely country and people. I congratulate Sundowners and their in country partners who arranged a superb holiday. All events such as safaris were booked and our charming driver and guide had everything in hand. We considered ourselves lucky to have had Mewan as our guide. He was always on time, drove carefully and was a constant source of information.

Sundowners kept us well informed prior to our trip and their organisation was second to none. I would have no hesitation in using this company in the future. Very many thanks for a truly memorable holiday.

What an amazing holiday we had in South Africa. It surpassed all our expectation. We cannot thank Sundowners enough for their expertise in understanding exactly what we wanted. They transferred a conversation of likes/dislikes and wants into exquisite accommodation in the most incredible locations. I would thoroughly recommend them and would definitely use them again.

Thank you so much to Lucy who planned the most amazing honeymoon for us to Madagascar. She took time to learn about us and our ideas for our honeymoon, before planning the most incredible trip with less than 2 months’ notice.

Every part was so well organised with a great mix of adventure and honeymoon moments throughout. Our drivers, guides and the various accommodation staff all went above and beyond for us from start to finish. Madagascar was such an interesting and beautiful country to visit and we saw, experienced and learnt so much!

We had a fantastic family holiday to Tanzania organized by Sundowner. We went with three generations, and did Safari, a few days at Zanzibar beach and a trip to Tanga to visit family. The team at Sundowner thought of every detail, and every part of the trip was flawlessly organized. Lucy was a pleasure to work with, and the team had excellent communication throughout. I would definitely recommend Sundowner, and am sure I’ll ask them to help us with future holidays!

The biggest thanks again to Sundowner and especially James for organising another amazing trip. This time it was two weeks in India with our 3 children. It was just fantastic. The whole itinerary ran so smoothly and the mix of hectic and relaxing was the perfect balance. The guides, the bus driver, the hotels chosen were all spot on. It really was superb! Tiger safari was definitely the best bit.

What an amazing trip to South Africa, Lucy organised a fabulous itinerary which catered for all the family. The highlight was seeing the ‘magnificent 7’ in Madikwe and the wonderful service at Jaci’s Lodge. Everything worked seamlessly including flights, car hire and transfers. Thank you !

We've just returned from a magical family holiday in Madagascar, with our lemur mad 9 year old son.

The holiday was carefully planned with James and his ever patient team before departure. He then handed us over into the super capable hands of his partner company in Madagascar who ensured that we had a magnificent holiday. From our driver Mana, to all the guides in the National Parks, to every place that we stayed, the experience was wonderful, with every little detail meticulously organised for us.

Madgascar is a place of exceptional beauty, with wildlife you'll see nowhere else in the world. If you're considering your own adventure, then we couldn't recommend James and the Sundowners team enough. We will certainly be booking with them again!

James O’Farrell provided exceptional personal service. Our original trip had to be cancelled due to Covid lockdown and James was incredibly helpful when we were originally booking and then rebooking the trip 3 years later providing numerous different options for flights and accommodation. He repeatedly tweaked the itinerary until we had our perfect trip. Sundowner have excellent local knowledge and James’s recommendations were spot on. All our accommodation was fantastic and all the transfers and excursions went smoothly.

From start to finish we were knew we were in good hands. Lucy was incredibly patient in coordinating an amazing trip to Borneo for our group of 13 - no mean feat. We enjoyed every aspect, from Kuala Lumpur to the Rainforest - ending with a fabulous 4 night stay on Gaya Island. Every transfer was seamless and the guides for the Rainforest boat safaris were brilliant. All of our group loved this trip (including the 5 teenagers) we would not hesitate to recommend Sundowners (credit to Lucy) for arranging this holiday of a lifetime. We even saw a baby orangutan - the stuff of dreams!
