Terrible customer service called to dispute an item not meeting its description online and asking why I should cover the costs of the return. Have been hung up on 5 times. This is supposed to be an upmarket furnishing store. I have better communication with Amazon.

I contacted the Conran support team enquiring whether they provide a cleaning and restoration service for a leather Sofa which I purchased from them approx 10 years ago. I spoke with Megan who notified that they don’t provide the service, but kindly provide details of recommended firms close to me. Fantastic service from the Conran team .

I ordered several items on line and in one of the boxes was a heavy wooden step ladder, and apparently two small boxes containing light fittings. I was in no way expecting these items to be packed together and it was not at all obvious that there was anything else in the box other than the step ladder. No delivery note to warn that smaller items were included, for example. I am now out of pocket by £450 as I took the packaging to the tip, believing it to be empty. At first I complained that the items had not been delivered and finally the warehouse was able to confirm that the smaller items had been packed with the step ladder. I am astonished that a) they would do that b) not make it clear to look further in the box c) are taking no action to recompense me. At the very least the smaller items could have been placed on the TOP of the step ladder where they would be clearly visible.
I am further astonished at the complacency of the operation in refusing any compensation. They may have delivered them, but I have not received them.
I am 77 now and have shopped at Habitat and Conran for years, as most people of my age have done. However, never again. It is true that Conran has declined over the years and is now a remnant of its former self, but this lack of customer care is surprising; very disappointing, shoddy and cheap. A million miles away from the excellence of former years. The money that has been lost is quite a lot by everyday standards. To add insult to injury there is no phone number to call and no clear complaints channel. It's a real case of how the mighty fallen. I remember Conran as being a byword of excellence, and yes, expense, but at least you could take your goods home with you. I have no intention of ever shopping in Conran again and advise anyone thinking of doing so to be very careful. The prices are too high not to receive your goods.

Admittedly, their warehouse sent me the wrong product, but Megan in the customer services team sorted it out quickly and easily.

The conran shop, the kind of shop where client support can explain to customers that a 1 year-old 1000€-chair falling ONCE on the floor from its own height (roughly 45cm high) and can be out of order, without any problem of structure...to avoid refund or costly re-shipping

Fantastic product, amazing price and simple to order.

Ordered some beautiful looking frames a few months ago. Opened them to inspect them for damage, all seemed okay - the glass of one of them had a small bit of damage in the corner but it was hidden by the frame surround so I couldn't be bothered with returning it. The other frame seemed absolutely fine - until I recently put my artwork in it after having custom mounts made for it.

Only once the artwork was placed inside, I noticed something that looked like a small hair on the glass. I tried to brush it off, but upon closer inspection, it turns out it's inside the glass, so I'm unable to remove it. Whilst trying to solve the mystery hair situation, I noticed that the entire piece of glass is actually warped and incredibly bad quality. Hair can not be removed and is in the middle of the frame, very visible and ruining the appearance of the artwork.

Thought I'd get in touch with customer service, but they've been the most unhelpful CS I've encountered in a long while. As it's after the 28 days returns policy, there is nothing they are willing to do, as I should have realised earlier that the products have manufacturing defects. They would have exchanged it, but they no longer sell the frames, so too bad for me. Gesture of goodwill : 10% off my next order. But after knowing the bad quality of products they sell, I will never be ordering from the Conran Shop again.

I completely understand that the products were purchased a few months ago, but manufacturing defects don't appear suddenly, so it's not something I could have caused. I wrongly thought that they would be keen to make sure all products sold are of good quality, but seems they do not rate customer satisfaction at all. Shame.

Lovely-looking step chair - and immensely practical!

After being a happy shopper at the Conran shop for years I finally purchased a dinner set that was chipping at an abnormal rate. Within a few months I connected customer service about it. Anna Pisoni dealt with my case in a kind and helpful manner. It took time for samples to be returned and tested which she organised and kept me in the loop about. The issue was resolved without any stress - throughout I felt assured that they cared about their customers. Thank you.
