they've scammed me too.

A scam. Booking made at cost of £45 for an actual cost of £23 from gov web site. Unable to change wrongly allocated booking date. Steer clear of these fraudsters.

This site is a scam, nothing to to do with the DVLA. Please ensure you go directly to the .gov.uk site!!!

The date at the time of searching and applying for the online exam was July 26, 2020. On the official website, the earliest entry was on October 12, 2020. I needed to pass the theory exam earlier. I found resellers online at /thetheorytest.co/. They offered me to choose a date from August 03, 2020. I chose August 10, 2020. And they wrote to me by email that the date and time might be changed. I thought it’s okay, there will be nothing a day later. but the record came on October 13, 2020. And I realized that in this way they are deceiving people, giving the hope that through them it is possible to sign up faster. If you do not believe then compare the date offered by the site /thetheorytest.co/ and what dates are available on the official site.

Payed extra for unlimited Try’s failed my hazard perception by 1 and And now They saying I can’t resist the test after I payed for it biggest scam going don’t bother paying the extra money they will just have your eyes out

Its a pity Trust Pilot dont offer you a "No Star" option as this what this company would get. Please DONT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE.They have nothing to do with the DVA and they will offer you a date, on line, then, low and behold, send a message back saying that the date is not available. All they do is take £45, book the test with DVA for £23 and, if you cancel you will be charged £20 admin for the privalidge and they get £23 refund. Yes its in the T'S and C's, probably but.......?

I booked my theory test via the theory test.co they came back on the third day and gave me a test centre that was 40 mins away (which isn’t too bad after reading some of the reviews). There are two test centres in that area and they gave me the name of one and the address of the other with no way to contact them. I realised it’s a scam and checked my test on the government website and found that i can reschedule it for free. After reading reviews of the company cancelling the test hopefully this will prevent that as i booked it for a test centre closer. I will be reporting to action fraud and i would suggest you do not use the website and only use the government one!

These people are dirty scammers. So sorry if you fell for it like I did.
Really disappointed that Google let's this website be the first thing to come up when you search Theory Test.
I'm currently trying to get a refund.
Covid seems to be a great excuse for them why they can't book my test.
I'm so angry but I'm glad I'm not alone.

I booked my theory test through this website on Monday for Thursday the 23rd July at 8 am however, I got an emailing saying my order is being processed and can take unto 3 days and I still haven't received the confirmation. I have tried contacting them about this and no response and my test is suppose to be tomorrow

Cant cancel or edit anything. no contact number no email !

My test was cancelled because of the pandemic, I have not heard anything and then I rang DVSA and they stated they had already processed a refund to this awful company - so they have my £45 and have not given me it back- I want my money back scammers!

Complete scammers. I googled to book a theory test and they were the first result up so naively I thought they were the real deal. I had no idea how much a theory test should cost so when it charged me £45 I didn’t think it odd. I requested a test in Kent but was sent one in Manchester. It was then that I felt something was up. I then discovered the fee was double. There’s no way to contact them or get my money back.

I’ve since tried to book a real theory test and found they did at least use half of my money to book a test. I’ve rearrange it to Kent again. The rest of my money has presumable gone in some thieving scumbags pocket.

Turned up at Newport for the test to find out they are still closed due to Covid. As email address on Gov booking site was the theory test co, I didn't get notified and the theory test co didn't bother to inform me! The round trip was 2 hours!

Scam. Booked my theory test with them in London and they gave me a test centre in Cambridge. No way to contact them, logging in I get the error "you do not have permission to open a ticket"

No reply from info@ or booking@ - complete scam. Reported to American Express and Action Fraud.

A scam cannot contact them at all no email no phone number I am contacting the relevant authorities

Thetheorytest is a fraudulent scam. If you have also been scammed, please report them to actionfraud.police.uk and the Competition and Markets Authority (for breaching the Consumer Contracts Regulations). They need to be shut down.

Please read my experience and do not give any money to these thieves.

I Googled "theory test" and, as thetheorytest dot co was the first result to come up, I stupidly assumed this was the official website. I paid £45 for a theory test. It seemed expensive and I had a bad feeling that something wasn't right so I did some research into this company. I found countless negative reviews on here and elsewhere describing them as "fraudsters" and "scammers", as well as a newspaper article talking about the scam they operate.

I quickly realised that I'd been defrauded. Within ten minutes of paying the money, I contacted them via the email address on their website and politely asked them to cancel my booking and for my £45 to be refunded in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations which state that consumers have the right to cancel within 14 days and that ‘the trader must reimburse all payments [...] without undue delay’ and ‘not impose any fee on the consumer in respect of the reimbursement’. They offered to refund £25 but refused to refund the whole £45 stating it was in their terms and conditions. I explained to them that the legislation overrides their terms and conditions and makes it clear that they are not allowed to do this and that they must refund me in full. However, they have repeatedly refused to do so.

Aside from their illegal practices that are in breach of the Consumer Contracts Regulations, it's clear that thetheorytest.co is a scam anyway as a theory test via the official website is £23 yet they are charging £45. Please only book a theory test via the Government website. All other websites offering theory test booking are also highly likely to be scams.

thetheorytest.co are very difficult to contact. There is no phone number on their website and the address listed on their website is fake. Thankfully I found their real address.

One of the company directors, Suzanne Hassan (also known as Suzanna Shahrour), has previously been a director of another company (called Your Theory Test Limited) which ran almost the exact same scam. Ironically, she's also a lawyer! Needless to say both her and the other director (her husband, Bashar Shahrour) have been reported for fraud.

Why would anyone use this website its over 20£ more expensive than the one from gov.uk and to be honest Im not sure if its legit or not just be safe and use the one on gov.uk

Appauling do not touch only use the DVLA gov site to book your test.
They didn’t inform us the test was cancelled so we had a wasted trip. The guy at test centre advised against using the companies as the make it impossible for you to claim the free test anyway because of the t&cs
No telephone and when every you create a ticket they keep closing it

My two daughters naively booked their driving theory tests with this company because it came up as one of the first hits on a google search - both I and my wife were at work at the time. It overcharges £45 to book the test (£23 via the official government site). Impossible to contact them by phone and they charge a £20 administration fee for cancelling via email. This is in their terms and conditions so I suspect it would be difficult to challenge legally.

Avoid these exploitative con artists and the other companies running the same scams. Stick to the official .gov site.
