This site appears to be the DVSA website. They make you feel as if you are booking direct. But you are not. You are being charged double the fee. The real fee is only £23. I wish I'd known. They then book the test on your behalf, but ususally with a different date and sometimes a different centre. They are scammers who thrive on our ignorance. AVOID at all costs.

This company is terrible for delivering what you request. I requested a specific time/date at a specific center in Edinburgh. I paid £45 for this service and what do I receive? A test 3 months away from the slot I picked in Galashields (not even remotely near Edinburgh). DO NOT GIVE TIME/DATE AN CENTRE OPTIONS TO SELECT IF YOU CANNOT CHOOSE THEM!

Having made a booking request through this company, they made no effort to book a test on the day I requested even though there were 3 tests available that day. I then had to book a test directly with Gov.uk and the TheoryTestCo will not refund any of my money. I cancelled my agreement with them within 14 days of my original purchase. They are nothing but crooks!

My son accidentally booked his test on this website thinking like a lot of people it was an official site. Paid £45 I immediately emailed them back to ask them to cancel the order, the order was still being processed and the Theory test hadn’t even been booked but they have still charged me £20 to cancel. Yes it does state this in 8.4 of their TC’s but it clearly states this is to cover downloaded PDF’s and access to online test material which my son never used as the order hadn’t even been processed and seeing as they never even got as far as booking the test for him what have I paid for the snotty email from your advisor telling me it’s in the TC’s! Disgusting and I will be seeking advice as to how I can get the remainder of the money back!!

Having tried several times to book a theory test on the Gov.uk website, I was continually getting a message at the end of the submission stating ' The exam you require is not available at this test centre'. Getting a bit fed up with this flimsy explanation, I thought I would try a third party site and like many others on this forum, came to 'thetheorytest' which comes out on top of Google searches. I entered the required date, but then before committing to payment, thought I would check customer reviews. I'm so glad I did, given the 100% negative reviews regarding this organisation. The messaging on the Gov UK website doesn't help as it is very vague and I'm not surprised people turn to third party websites like 'Thetheorytest. Surely it would be very easy for the Gov.uk website to add, 'please avoid using third party suppliers as they are not reliable and instead, keep reviewing the Gov.UK, website over the next few days for availability'. This would surely prevent many others desperate to get their theory test out of the way from losing money to such companies.

Used this site to try and book my theory test as it came up as the first result on Google. Realised there may be a problem when it booked me into a centre 60 miles from where I live, and upon looking it up realised it was a scam site.

No telephone number or email address on their site available, so it’s near-impossible to contact anyone. Reported & avoid this site at all costs.

Booked theory before lockdown & they cancelled it then rescheduled to then be cancelled again in may. No refund & no sign if getting rescheduled, absolute joke

This website is fraudulent as well as misleading and advertising dates as a available when they're not. I booked for Sept 18th and luckily i missed out my middle name when giving my provisional details otherwise they would of just booked me onto the nearest date which was in december at the time.

When i asked for a refund they tried to say they'd be charging me £20 for a cancellation fee which is a load of tosh and just goes to show that they know nothing in relation to your consumer rights.

For starters they're falsely advertising dates as available when they're not, so they've lost their ability right there to be able to charge you a cancellation fee.

I also spoke with the top executive at the DVLA who says this website along with other similar websites do not have the right to sell slots nor are they allowed to book a theory on behalf of another person.

I was pleased to hear that the DVLA and Gov are now going to be looking into this website in particular as well as the other ones present on the internet.

Stay clear of this website, and just keep checking the gov website periodically because dates pop up with cancellations and i managed to get booked in through the gov website for a date in september.

I ordered for september 26th they have emailed to say date booked for the 3rd of the December after it was paid!

go through dvla sight only reason I did not is that they showed earlier slots but this turned out to be false and misleading

Booked with this company, my son’s theory test was then cancelled due to lockdown. My wife contacted these muppets and they offered a partial refund, minus their exorbitant cancellation fee. That was at least 6 weeks ago and still no refund. No replies to emails and very sketchy contact information (no phone number) - although I have managed to locate an address in Lancashire. Reporting to trading standards.

Absolute garbage, bought the service as a birthday present for the misses, but we did not know she had to complete 10 tests prior to test so we lost £45 on a crap service. The 10 practise tests should be clearly STATED ON THE MAIN PAGE NOT HIDDEN IN TERMS AND CONDITIONS NOONE READS.

Appalling Company DO NOT USE THEM they do everything possible to avoid giving you a repeat test, including not responding to contact!

Unfortunately not able to give no stars but would have done if it was possible. This company is absolutely dreadful in not delivering what they are charging for. It is incredibly difficult to get in touch with them once they have taken your money so it is virtually impossible to get a refund. All of which makes it seem like a complete scam. I am going to report them so that hopefully no one else loses their money. My 17 year old daughter booked her theory test using this website, paying for it with her hard earned money from her part time job. This company should be absolutely ashamed of what they are doing. I wish she had read the reviews first! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Absolute nightmare company to deal with. Thought this was a legitimate government site but no its an agency that overcharges, cant cancel without them taking half the money and even though they accept the booking and confirm it you then get a test on a totally different date 60 miles away from where you chose! avoid avoid avoid!

Not even 1 star. My error in assuming the top search on google would be the legit site. Then realised this was 3rd party and booked direct and tried to get refund when I saw no dates available until October and this site would not be able to complete my requested booking date . They have closed my ticket after not hearing from me for small period of time even though they still had not paid refund so should not have cancelled ticket. They will not not respond to me and automated emails say I need to open new ticket as it is closed - try to open new ticket but it says “you are not allowed to submit a ticket” convenient!
They said could only refund £25 due to £20 admin fee that I agreed to in T&C - I have argued that their was no admin as I know full well they would not have been able to book any dates I requested as nothing available until October so they would have been actioning full refund anyway, so they just became unresponsive to emails again and closed ticket again so have not refunded any money (even if I had agreed to let the admin fee go) so how can they close a ticket when still owing money and then block me from opening new ticket?

If would be just 0 star, this would have -5. They are scammers. All fraud. Well done to both of them when they can find stupid people like us. Paid £43.00 for my wife theory test for 27th of July which was shown as available date in their calendar, and after one week they confirmed for end of October. As now is too late, the only way is to put an advert with capital letters that this website is a SCAM.

Absolute scammers, I am fuming after turning up to do my test after revising I was told by receptionist no they were doing no tests due to covid and It has been rescheduled and I should of had an email in which I never received, after logging into my account it not will not let me contact them, to see when it has been rescheduled, they have wasted two months of my time now I have to rebook, I paid £45 for unlimited tests when I could have got this for £23 which o should of done in the first place.. shame on Google for making them top of my search bar 😡😡

These guys are charlatans!
They advertise on their website dates they cannot fulfill, to entice us to pay additional money for an earlier date. They charge £45.00 including booking fee. Took my money and the next day gave me a date 70 days after the date I booked, which is later than you could have booked with DVLS website for £23.00.

Utterley useless. I booked my daughters theory test for 12th August based on availability advertised on the website. After 3 days the booking confirmation came through for 26th October at a location miles away! We wrote back said this wasn't good enough, no feedback or comment received at all. I then decided to book direct with the DVSA and cut my losses. and to my surprise there was already a booking on there showing 11th August at another location. Lucky I did that or we would never have known. We turned up and thankfully she passed and we dont have to use the free re-take advertised. Communcation is so poor, not a positive response left at all. In hindsight wish I'd looked at the reviews first. Anyone reading wanting to book a test, go straight to DVSA. Faceless company, no contact details on website, stay away!
