Following my last post on 11th Jan, I have an update- my money has been refunded.

I sought advice from citizens advice bureau (via telephone) who were incredibly helpful. I sent two letters (via recorded delivery) to the company (the first to the address as shown on the website and the second to the directors at GEXT LIMITED-see paragraph 2.1 in the T's and C's.) I outlined my case and listed the reasons why I believed the company had breached their terms and conditions (refer to the T and C's and list any clauses which you feel have been breached). In addition (as advised by CAB,) I asked if they were members of the ADR (alternative dispute resolution) scheme. This is a question the company must legally answer. I informed them that I would give them 14 days to refund the full amount before pursuing matters further. This resulted in a full refund within a week-BINGO! Had I not have received the money, I would have re-contacted the CAB for seeking advice as to what my next steps were.
I hope this is of help and that you too are able to recuperate any lost money.

SCAM - please don’t book through these - they have not made no contact with my son regards to theory test date , tried to email them back and the email was returned undelivered. Please be careful and book through the gov.uk website and the test is only £23.00. They have took £45.00 out of my account.

Past my hazard P but I failed the other one. Rebook the theory test the same day which is on the 29th of December 2020 but until now not heard anything from them.as it says unlimited but nothing heard from them until now. Cant contact no one to ask. Can we report this company to trading

I booked it because it said you could do unlimited resits. I failed my first go, and they then told me that if you fail the hazard perception test (easily done let me tell you!) you are no longer entitled to resits. Outrageous and overpriced for what it actually is. Never mentioned this condition (and who has time to read the small print of everything they buy). Do not use.

Awful misleading site. Paid the £45 as it stated unlimited retests..firstly time and date were nowhere near what I thought we had booked.
Daughter failed her theory but it now appears that if you fail the hazard perception part you are not eligible for the free resits.
Almost impossible to contact anyone from this site.
I honestly do not know how they are still allowed to trade.

I read the reviews about the theory test website. Most people confirmed they are scammers. I tried to book the theory exam through DVLA, unfortunately when I searched for theory test, this website (httpsthetheorytest.co) came first and directly ask for booking centre location.
That time I didn't realize this was not DVLA website. After I made the payment only, I knew I made the payment erroneously to different website. Immediately, within half an hour I emailed them to cancel my order and refund my money back. But they mailed me they are not going to refund fully.
I annoyed because even they didn't give any service to me but they said they take £20 for their admin fee. They refund the balance money £25. I said OK, and they didn't refund my money back up to now. I emailed them about the refund not received. The just emailed back to me the ticket was close. Even they haven't any contact number or any other emails in their website.
At the same time when I booked that time I gave the date for the exam as on 26th February 2020 but they emailed they will be book in different date don't do any plans for travel. I don't understand how they processed my order after I request them to cancel it. And also after made the payment only, the web page show the message in red colour about their condition - that the date might be different. (Photo attached in email).Please do the needful for me to get the full money back.
Please someone advise me how to get this money back from them.

I am also a victim of this scam. I’m going to get my bank to cancel this transaction and re book on the gov website, I probably have about half an hour to do so, I’m trying to break the scammers as we speak. I will update you with my results

I booked a test using this website, i booked through them even though they were charging double then whats mentioned on the govt. website, because they showed available test date as 11 Jan 2021, so i booked and paid 45£ and when i recvd an email of order booking confirmation, it was showing date 15 Feb 2021 as my test date which is more than 1 month ahead of what i selected, i wanted to contact them and cancel the test but there are no information, no contact details, and they are not allowing to open a complaint through help desk, its showing "YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SUBMIT TICKET" after so much of struggle first they offered refund of 20£ only which i refused strictly and after showing them their real face with proofs and screenshot that how they are scamming people they gave me my refund. never use this service to book. why DVLA is allowing them to scam people like this?

My daughter booked her theory test on this site not realising they are acting as an agent. You will pay £45 for the privilege and it's only £23 on the gov. site.

If you need to get a refund, it is possible and I was helped by someone on the below reviews. But you'll have to push for it. As soon as I quoted the CCR they refunded straight away...

I am exercising my rights under the distance selling act, which is now known as the Consumer Contract Regulations as of 2007.

The regulations state that if you did not access the digital content, which we have not, then we are able to claim a refund for the digital content and the service you supposedly provided.

Im ready to get an ombudsmen involved and I will take legal action If you fail to process my daughters full refund within 21 days of £45.00

Understood my situation and refunded me, bear in mind they automatically book you in for a date, i highly recommend reading the terms and conditions before paying for the service.

Worst experience with any company ever, absolute frauds. Took £45 when it's actually £23. Cancelled on GOV.uk, they said they'd give me £23 but they have not and it's been more than 2 weeks. Gov.uk also said they sent an email to theorytestco letting them know that my test had been cancelled, but when I emailed them for the second time they said "would you like me to cancel your test" and a "£20 administration fees". If you read the terms and conditions, they make absolutely no sense, they say fees is non refundable which is £6. If I wanted to cancel, I have to cancel on the Monday before, and I'd get a full refund, but then it goes onto say if you cancel your test if there is 3+ days left, they'll take £20 adminstration fees. Absolute scamming bunch of idiotic frauds.

They charged £45. Turned up at test centre in Brighton and my daughter had not been booked in. Next available test is in a month’s time. Bloody annoying and waste of a morning. How can it come up as an ad on Google?! Will lodge complaint.

This is a scam website which charges double the actual amount for booking your theory test with no way of cancelling or getting a refund. Beware - do not use!

They charged me double when the actual test is £23 tried to ask for the money back and havent got a answer! Requested it back of the government website to be given back £23 for it to be sent to a random account not my bank! They have taken the money out of my account and put it into theres to pay of there card so that if I did get a refund it would've gone straight back to them anyway!!!

Yes this is a scam, you can easily and accurately book on the gov web site. I have checked on the gov site and the booking has been made, but in theory I've paid someone to make a booking on my behalf. Silly mistake, but got daughter to bring up site and then supplied the credit card details. If they get this review hope their pleased with themselves for scamming people. And hope they adhere to GDPR and remove my details from their systems.

I booked a test, they charged me £45. Money got taken out my account. I was on the Government website checking and it said my test got moved back twice during lock down and that I didn't have a location. I then cancelled through Government website and they sent money a £23 refund to a random account... I payed £22 more than that and I've not even got the money back...

Book directly through the UK GOV/DVSA website instead.

These people charge £45 to book your theory test on your behalf, which is £20 more expensive than just doing it yourself. If you cancel they charge you a £20 "cancellation fee"!

They show up as the first result on Google searches so be careful where you click! If you Google search Theory Test then make sure you scroll past anything marked "ad", use the official government/DVSA website only and don't throw your money away to these cowboys.
I've reported the google ad as fraud and misleading information - if you've fallen victim to it then you should do the same.

This company are the Pitt’s and what is worse,I fell for it. Today , the day lock down ends , I attended the test centre only to be told , they hadn’t book my test . They charged me double the fee and didn’t provide a service. Don’t touch them. It’s fraud .

Scammers. Steer clear. To communicate you need to open a ticket. I am not allowed to open a new one wth?!. Son had to miss test due to isolation for Covid the day before test so we are outside three day policy for refund / rebooking but how can you legislate for Covid isolation. They can reply to emails when it suits but mostly you get a standard response. Why are they allowed to operate like this? Son sent link to their site which I didn’t check which was the big mistake.
