BULLYING, UNHELPFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE
Apart from being left out of pocket after a failed collection fiasco, my wife is still recovering from the bullying messages she was subjected to by this company’s ‘customer service’ department (which seems to amount to an incredibly rude person chatting via WhatsApp).
Honestly, I wouldn’t speak to an enemy the way they speak to paying customers (other reviews here attest to the same).
My wife used this service on a recent trip to London and paid for collection from her mother’s house. However, after cancelling work and waiting in the whole day with the door open, no one arrived.
Nor was there any communication to my wife on the number she provided. There was also no tracking number offered.
Other reviewers here report a similar experience.
When my wife questioned what had happened, “access issues” were cited, without any evidence of such.
We were then given two options, which included either my mother-in-law taking another full day off work at less than 24hours’ notice or incurring late return fees. When my wife pointed out that this seemed unfair she was met with dismissive, sarcastic comments.
Eventually, my mother-in-law called to complain. Following this, my wife received a sulky message informing her that the company would no longer be assisting her in any way. She was blamed for “getting” her mother to call up, which seemed very unprofessional and childish.
The only concession offered was to refund £9 postage, which they haven’t followed through on.
My mother-in-law had to cart the items to the post office herself, which cost a significant amount. My wife did explain to Tiny Explorers that this was difficult because she has arthritis and is nearly 70, but instead of showing compassion, Tiny Explorers continued to insist that carting the boxes wouldn’t be a problem for a yoga teacher, which felt like an overstep - for a company to decide on their customers’ physical capabilities.
Throughout, the tone of messages coming from Tiny Explorers was passive aggressive and escalatory.
The reason my wife was in London was for cancer screening. She intended to use Tiny Explorers in order to make life convenient. Instead, the whole experience just added to her stress levels and created unnecessary admin.
When she pointed this out, appealing for some compassion. she was instead met with defensive, dismissive jibes.
We were threatened at one point that the matter had been referred to their ‘legal department’ (I can’t imagine what the charge against us would be, but we would expect this to be communicated formally rather than over WhatsApp).
My assumption is that the people/person running this company are/is out of their depth, but rather than responding to customer complaints with solutions, they appear to lash out and shift all blame as well as admin onto the paying customer.
It’s strange that this person had chosen to work in a customer-facing role, given they clearly do not have the right temperament.

Such a fantastic service for travelling with kids. I hired 3 products that made our travel to Australia and our holiday so much easier. The team were so easy to deal with, amending my order after it was placed and ensuring we had everything in time for our trip. Thank you!

I received a very prompt, stress free service, pushchair arrived without a footboard which I just assumed it would have one but I sent a message over and received a fast response with an apology and to let me know one would be sent straight out. Arrived the next day! No issues and would recommend to everyone, thank you!

They have great equipment in excellent condition. Customer service is very accessible for any questions or issues. The returns process at the end of the rental is very easy. It’s our 2nd time using them and we would again!

I recently hired the YoYo Baby Zen from Tiny Explorers Rentals for a trip abroad with my son, and it was an absolute lifesaver. I was travelling alone with him, so I needed a pram that was efficient, practical, and easy to manage on my own and this exceeded all expectations.
I was able to take the pram all the way onto the plane and even push him down the aisles to get to our seats, which made travelling so much less stressful. The whole experience was seamless.
This is the second time I’ve used Tiny Explorers Rentals, and it definitely won’t be the last. Highly recommend to any parents travelling with little ones.

Great communication from Tiny Explorers! And great products! We travelled to Australia from Scotland with our 7 and 10 year olds, we had the blow up foot rest for our 7 year old which was amazing! Hoped on the flight got comfy and off to sleep! Highly recommended. We also had the blow up back pillow (seat to sleep) for both our kids! Amazing! They both said they were super Comfy!
Fantastic service, items and prices
Hired a child carrier for a weekend away to trial out whether we should buy one. Package was sent promptly and arrived well ahead of the date I’d requested. Item was exactly as expected/advertised - clean, good quality and all accessories stored in pockets.Returns are really easy to do with instructions provided and costs covered. I have used Tiny Explorers on a number of ocassions. I couldn’t think if using a different company! Their customer service is phenomenal, nothing is too much for them even answering questions outside their hours. They are really the most helpful!
On my most recent rental the buggy was dropped off 5 days before hand at no additional cost to make sure i had the buggy for my alloted time due to christmas and New Year. How amazing is that?!
Are the buggys pristene, no. Do i expect them to be, also no. They are rentals, well loved and well worn. I can tell yoh what the most certainly are- CLEAN. You can smell the clean on them and the handy tag confirming the clean, who cleaned it and when is also helpful.

Avoid – aggressive and improper conduct after payment
I returned a hired item 5 days late over the Christmas period. I fully accept that and was invoiced a late fee by Tiny Explorers, which I paid in full and on time.
After accepting my payment, they then attempted to withdraw the “goodwill” discount they had applied to the invoice and demanded additional money, sending a second Stripe payment link and threatening debt collectors.
They repeatedly claimed they were legally entitled to withdraw a paid discount, even after I pointed out (correctly) that once an invoice is issued, paid, and accepted, the matter is settled under UK contract law.
They then escalated to threatening Small Claims Court proceedings for the same already-paid amount, and tried to intimidate me for saying I would leave a negative review.
At one point they even sent me a Google search link as “legal justification” for their position.
This went from a straightforward late-return fee (which I paid without dispute) into an aggressive and deeply unprofessional attempt to extract more money after settlement.
I would strongly caution anyone considering using this company. Mistakes happen, but how a business behaves after payment tells you everything you need to know.
