The product is better than expected and well worth the expense. The packaging was good. The telephone and email interaction was second to none.
Over all totally pleased with our order.

This would have been a glowing 5 star review had it not been for misleading measurement information on the website.

The positives: My order was acknowledged in a very friendly manner and then I was updated when my order had entered production. I was kept informed about delivery and delivery was made exactly when expected.
The shelves are absolutely brilliant, really high quality, heavy weight and are stained beautifully.

The negative and the reason for 3 stars instead of 5: I was expecting the depth to be 22cm. One shelf was 22.6 cm and the other 22.5 cm. Grumbling about the 6mm and 5mm difference may seem pedantic but for my project the extra depth was really problematic for me. The website warned the length was approximate which is fine but there was no mention of any potential deviation to the depth so I was expecting the depth to be bang on. I decided to avoid the hassle of returning the shelves
and borrowed a neighbor's wood planer to achieve the necessary depth. The inevitable mess that comes with that job was a total pain in the bottom, frankly.

I’ve just hung my gorgeous beam in our kitchen and wanted to come and leave a quick review for the wonderful quality of the product, and the quick and efficient experience I received from start to finish. The beam came with all relevant fixings and it was very simple to install. The wood is beautifully shaped to look aged, and the finish is exactly as I hoped. A very well crafted and quality product. I received my order very quickly, within the advised delivery window. I also received progress updates from the team. Highly recommend!

I have purchased about 20 floating shelves from Traditional Beams over the last three years. I have found the ordering procedure easy and on occasions when I have asked for a bespoke service the staff have always been very helpfully and efficient

The shelves have a good quality finish, easy to fit and easy to maintain.

Absolutely love my solid oak shelves – they finish off the room perfectly! The quality of the timber and craftsmanship is outstanding. Carly and Catherine were incredibly helpful in guiding me through my colour choice. I was kept up to date throughout – from when my shelves entered production to when they were dispatched.

There was a bit of a wait, but that’s totally expected for handmade, made-to-order pieces crafted with such care. I’ve had so many compliments already! Can’t wait to start on the next room – I’ll definitely be using TB again!

This review is about the Wooden Bed Company which is a subisduary of Traditional Beams that offers the handmade beds.
Utterly useless company – avoid at all costs!!!!
I ordered a king-size bed frame on 21st August, choosing 5th September as my delivery date. Other than the initial order confirmation, I heard nothing further—no updates, no tracking, no timeframe.
On the evening of the 4th, I emailed asking for delivery details. Receiving no reply, I phoned first thing on the 5th. I was then told my bed was not being delivered at all—in fact, it was still in production.
I explained that I had just moved house, had no bed, and was currently sleeping on a sofa bed at my mum’s. They promised it would be ready by the following Tuesday and delivered Wednesday instead. I pointed out that I had already arranged and paid someone to assemble it on the 5th, and asked the company to cover the cost (£125) of rearranging. They refused, claiming it was due to a “website glitch” that allowed me to book a delivery date in the first place. I pointed out this was their error, not mine.
I was then passed to a man called Dave, who was utterly unhelpful. His only “gesture of goodwill” was to offer half the assembly cost, despite the entire issue being their fault. He also informed me that delivery and assembly could be delayed for up to 4-5 more days.
When I told him this was a disgraceful shit show of customer service and said I would reflect it in my review, he simply cancelled my order without discussion and refunded me—like a petulant child, citing that he couldn't deal with the abuse????? The only swear word was Shitshow and yes I had a cross voice, this was clearly too much for the delicate flower!!! Why this 'man' is in a customer facing role beggars belief as his delicate sensibilities and inability to cope with issue clearly overwhelm him!

This company is awful: dreadful communication throughout the process, incompetent overly sensitive staff, zero accountability, and appalling customer service. Do not waste your time or money here.

UPDATE - in reply to the company response below. As I stated in my review, there was no abuse toward your employee!!! Was I cross? yes! and rightly so!! There was no swearing at him and personal insults towards him in anyway!! I said the company customer service was a 'shitshow' - which it is!!!!! The female staff member who i first dealt with handled everything professionally and correctly and if she had continued to handle the case, then it would have been resolved! The delicate sensibiities and unhelpfulness of the 'male' staff member made the situation much worse and he was obviously unable to cope with the role he was in!! Crying wolf on abuse says all you should need to know about his character!! What a shame you treat customers this way! I hope people have the good sense to buy their beds elsewhere.

Ordered a beam from here for our fire place, really good experience. Staff were lovely and helpful and the quality of the beam is fantastic and looks great. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be a return customer.

Having dealt with this company many times I can say their products and customer service are always brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble!

Waiting times are fairly abysmal... haven't received item yet. When I ordered the beam it stated it will be dispatched between 5-10 business days. I called today to ask where it was as I've had no updates/contact and it had gone over this time. The lady on the phone said 'it's no longer 5-10 days it's now changed to 15 days'... didn't fancy updating me/sending out an email to all customers? I asked her for an approximate delivery date and all she said was 'I can't give you one but hopefully it will be dispatched at some point next week' and that was that. From speaking to them it now seems I won't receive it until end of September, possibly beginning of October. Terrible waiting times for a plank of wood! Definitely wouldn't use them again.

* UPDATE *
About ten minutes after leaving this review I received calls, a voicemail and an email about the review but didn't respond. Miraculously I then received several emails telling me it had been dispatched straight away and I will be receiving it tomorrow. Funny that!

* SECOND UPDATE *
The order was dispatched to my home address two days ago (as per their response) and I received an email stating I would have received it yesterday. I checked today and could see it is now heading back to their warehouse (without any attempts of it being delivered to me). My partner just called them and they said 'we didn't like the review she left us so we decided to just take it back, she should get a refund in the next week.' Me and my partner just burst out laughing! I haven't received any calls or emails from them telling me they're not bothering to send it anymore / a refund / cancellation of order / that their feelings were really hurt. The most unprofessional company I've ever ordered from! The man on the phone sounded so awkward, probably because he realised this is how 5 year olds act. Me and my partner are still chuckling!

I was initially apprehensive to pay almost £200 for a pair of shelves; however, I am very happy with my purchase. I ordered two 1200mm floating oak shelves from Traditional Beams, and they are of very high quality, and the customer service is excellent. I initially emailed before my purchase to query what fixings could be used for timber studs. I promptly received a response pointing me to the correct product, and they clarified that they could position the fixings to match my measurements. I sent them a drawing following this, and I received my order in less than two weeks with the correct fixing positions. They even threw in an extra plasterboard fixing free of charge as the end of my shelf just missed a stud. I will be ordering more shelves from here in the future.
