This gym is disgraceful closed on the the day no warning, staff left with no jobs with no notice and members ripped off stay well away disgusting.

I am a member of the Huddersfield Trugym and enjoy the classes. The gym is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful

This was a friendly gym in Boston Lincolnshire. I went a few times a week and they were welcoming and a great bunch of people. On Wednesday I was shocked to discover it had closed down the day before and all the staff had lost their jobs. The day before, my payment had been taken. This review is on the company and not the local gym. Why take people’s money when you know you’re going to close the branch, and that the staff knew nothing? Still waiting on a response to my request for a refund.

Appalling is an understatement for Ipswich
Be happy when my contract is up in October .
Second hand kit ( I suspect from the closed Portsmouth gym)
Leaking roof with buckets underneath.
The list of kit faults is long much of which needs either a battery ,spanner or Allen key
However management dont seem too concerned about walking around and sorting it out
Web sight is not up to date and the terms and conditions are un obtainable, gym location list is wrong Ipswich is not even listed and thats a just a 30 second input job

I was very disappointed with this company, I have been using this gym for a number of years and all seemed good especially after the main covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
However in November 2021, I arrived at the gym as normal to find a notification that because of Covid-19 the gym had been shut permanently and any memberships would be cancelled or refunded, considering that 2 days before this notification I was using the gym and yet they did not see it reasonable to inform their member that they were closing.
To add insult to injury the company that they use to collect memberships then sent me an email telling me that I was a month in arrears and also slapped me with a £25 administration charge on top of my monthly membership and if I did not pay by a certain time that they would then charge me £175 and send my details to a debt collector agency.
I responded to that email, explaining that there is not another TruGym in the London area and that they needed to get in touch with the directors of TruGym to sort this issue out, so far I have not heard beck from this membership company but if I do I will put a separate review on that company.

Same as below - Trugym Bromley closed and didn’t refund the lost membership. Nobody will reply to emails or tweets.

Under the Consumer Rights Act If you buy goods that are faulty or pay for a service that isn't fulfilled you are entitled to a refund... The law is too good for TruGym though who just ignore refunds after blatant breaches of contract.

My branch shut down down and I never received a membership refund. No matter how many times I try to contact them I never get a response. Don't make the same mistake I did, seems a lot of their branches go under at a moments notice. Pay for a trustworthy gym that obeys the law so you get the proper financial protections.

The gym had closed down suddenly in November 2021 and hasn't provided a refund. On their website and on the front door of the place it said that membership fees would be refunded pro-rota within 7-10 days. This hasn't happened and all attempts to contact them regarding this is being ignored. They definitely make it difficult to contact them through their website. It does seem that there are other members who have also not been refunded.

Gym was great but suddenly closed down with little more than a note on the door. Was told that membership fees would be refunded pro-rota within 7-10 days which was hasn't happened and was well over a month ago. Completely unresponsive to emails. This seems to be the case for all former members not just me. Avoid.

Great staff and very calming atmosphere to be in, specially if you are pregnant.

Needs upgrading but brilliant staff

The gym equipment needs upgrading and steam sauna not in use for long time therefore it needs attention.
Ewelina member of staff brilliant friendly helpful ,knowledgeable.She made me feel very comfortable.
She should definitely be promoted as she got the right attitude for the job.

It pains me to say this but it would have been 5 stars for the way the great staff are/were also the fantastic classes were in Bromley
The trouble is that the staff were told by text message last night at 10:30pm that the gym is to close and will not be opening again.
This is just a disgraceful way to treat everyone involved, especially by text with no notice, can only assume due to covid it was loosing money but come on Trugym this is disgusting!!

Average gym get what u pay for not cleaned often enough
And equipment keeps breaking down

the gym is very clean, the staff are very friendly and always up for a laugh! managed very well had a compliant and it was rectified very effectively, beautiful pool and spa 5 stars would recommend (tru gym huddersfield)

Joke of a place. So unprofessional. Pool full of screaming kids. It's a public swimming baths not a gym. Staff beyond rude ! Good luck getting them to answer the phone. Pay a little bit more and go somewhere decent !

Only join this gym if you have enough money to not care what payment they take out your bank, it’s never the same amount and do not expect any sort of customer service!
Management is awful only good thing about trugym Gateshead is the cleaner, she’s a credit to them, helpful and extremely polite!

Great gym that everyone feels comfortable and Staff are an asset to the place. Very clean and covid compliant.

Hello guys so I’ve just been to nosy around the Huddersfield gym and it melted my heart all brand-new equipment push bags exercise equipment cardioThey reopen in the steam room from the 9th The pool is looking fantastic ready for people to get into so don’t listen to the bad reviews listen to me get yourself down New gym in Huddersfield and get yourself signed up on a special offer and you can pay monthly or on a contract so no commitment I’m sure Guys will not be disappointed it’s only a little gym but my God is it punching some punches right now
