I am really thankful for WE ARE SNO for helping to make my dream come true to become a snowboard instructor!!
I did my Level 1 course/exam in Mount Washington, CANADA and right now, I have trainings for my Level 2 exam. I LOVE every second of it!!
You don't have to worry about going to a place you've never been before and about doing something you never did before-they are there with you before and meanwhile being out there. They help you to organize your trip, transfer you from the airport to your seasonal accomodation(which is really nice), make sure you are trained by the best trainers of the area and that you are ready for the exam. Also, they guarantee a contract with the mountain you've been trained at so you don't need to waste any time or energy by looking for a job after you've passed your exam. The only thing you need to focus on is to have FUN!
It is a great opportunity to become a ski/snowboard instructor but it offers so much more: you'll meet a lot of people with the same interest, can talk about skiing/snowboarding all day long, ride together with the same kind-of-crazy people, you can also sign up for an Avalanche Safety Training to be safe out there if you are more into the backcountry, get trained for the Park to hit the boxes and rails safely and man.. I could go on and on.. :P but words are just words..
So, use this amazing opportunity and just GO and EXPERIENCE! You won't regret it! ;) =)

I was looking to take a sabbatical from my office job back home and came across We Are Sno. The company stood out as exceptionally professionally and really focused on the enjoyment of the individuals on the programme. I was initially hesitant about being one of the older participants, but it’s actually worked out really well, with the group ranging from 18-29, but everyone getting on so well from Day 1. This was helped by Ed and Dewansh, who organised loads of socials for us and made sure everyone was ok.

The training we got from Pro Peak was of the highest level I could imagine. The trainers were very experienced, as well as being super fun. Everyone went into their exam feeling really prepared and you could really see the difference, compared to some of the other programmes, that hadn’t had the quality of instruction we’d received.

I’ve loved working for NVSS in Niseko this season. There’s about 150 of us in total, and it’s like a massive family and so nice seeing everyone you know teaching around the mountain. The Clients have been really fun to teach and I’ve felt well supported the whole time by both We Are Sno and NVSS. NVSS even offer free training during the season, if you’re not on a lesson that day, which has been great to improve further.

All in all, I’m so happy that I decided to spend my sabbatical doing this and would definitely recommend the programme!

I was scrolling through Facebook one day and saw the We Are Sno survey show up. Without really thinking about it I clicked in and answered the questions.
Within a day or so I was speaking to Adrian about moving overseas to become a Snowboard Instructor.

I ended up joining the 2019/2020 program and basically dropped everything and moved to Canada.

This has been one of the best decisions of my life. From assistance with Visa's and general questions, to accommodation and airport pickups Adrian and the We Are Sno crew have been fantastic and always helpful and supportive.

We Are Sno took care of almost everything, meaning I was free to focus on my instructor training and becoming a better Snowboarder.

Happy beyond words about coming to Mt. Washington and already looking forward to coming back for the next season.

Finding WE ARE SNO has been such an amazing thing to happen to me. I've always dreamed of working a winter season and WE ARE SNO has made that a reality for me. I would have never thought being a ski instructor was possible but here I am living in Canada at Silver Star Resort doing one of the most rewarding jobs and doing one of my biggest passions!
I came across the company on the season workers website and it was such a simple process to get the ball rolling.
After conversations with Adrian about what the course offered I decided to take the plunge. Adrian was so easy to talk to and made the whole process so much easier. The company have an ethos that makes you feel part of a family and not just an individual.
Adrian was so helpful and helped with everything from advice on the course, to helping with the visa process, or just general help. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

When we all finally met at the airport and I met the people on the course that I would be spending the season with it instantly felt like I had made the right decision. We all have a common interest and we all clicked straight away. Having gone to Uni and meeting new people it's not always easy to get on with everyone but meeting everyone and getting on with them soon settled those nerves.

We were taken to our accommodation, which is in a prime spot on the mountain. The Silver Lode staff accommodation is ski in ski out, which makes the commute to work, and getting around the village the perfect location.

Adrian and Sean took us all under their wing and ensured we felt comfortable and at ease. The training of the course was organised and we had really in depth training and support which helped us prepare fully for our Level 1 course.

It isn's just work and no play either. We all went out together as a group for meals and activities that did not involve the snow, such as bowling, rock climbing and Ice Hockey! The social side only demonstrates further how much WE ARE SNO take care of you and build on that family bond.

I am loving every single moment here in Canada and to be able to Ski everyday in such a magical place has made taking this big decision to move across the other side of the world one of the best decisions I have made. I would recommend to anyone who has a love for the mountains and skiing to take the opportunity. As cliche as it is to say, you only live once and I will be forever grateful for finding WE ARE SNO and making life so much sweeter! Hopefully this will bring further opportunities to continue to do more winter seasons.

Choosing We Are Sno was the best decision I’ve made to date. In 2019 I was still a student and had just left college looking to change my life up as I am used to staying in my comfort zone , and not being adventurous. Deciding to move away at a young age on my own is possibly the biggest jump. However, at the beginning of my journey i was very nervous and anxious about leaving family, friends etc. I met up with 6 other We Are Sno guys at the airport and everyone clicked straight away, they made me feel so welcome which put all my worries at ease! We came to terms with the fact we are all in the same boat and we’re going to be family for the next 4 + months. As the weeks and months have gone on all 24+ of us have got to know each other individually and we all get along so well:) Ed and Dewansh being the leaders of the We Are Sno clang did everything they could to make sure we were looked after, happy, fed and really cared about each and everyone’s mental state as it’s a new environment to be in.

The accommodation we stayed at for our training and exams was perfect as you could choose whether you wanted some “me” time or to socialise with everyone.

The training we received was the best of the best! Speaking to some other people who are based in different instructor companies confessed they wasn’t given the best training and that we are lucky to develop our skiing/snowboarding and teaching at the rate we did.

After qualifying, we went into our new accommodation and into employment straight away. The staff are unbelievable at Niseko Village and the resort is so easy to navigate and work around. I have received the best clients up to now and can receive the best rewards when you work hard! If you are looking to start a new career or even a gap year this is the course best suited. I have gained a job role I love, a new set of true friends, learning more about the culture each day and my overall confidence and mental state has been nothing but positive since living in Japan. Highly recommend to you new comers!!:)

Awesome People, WeAreSno took really good care of every single member and we really grew close to each other. The teaching in Niseko Village is just great and so was the instructor course!! Definitely worth doing this via WeAreSno!

Teaching here in Niseko as a ski instructor with Niseko Village Ski School has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me so far. It can be challenging to teach something like skiing, but it's also amazing to be able to meet new people every day from around the world and teach them something I'm very passionate about.

I'm very thankful to WeAreSno for organizing such a great program that allows people like me to have such an awesome experience. From the day we landed they took such good care of us and really guided us through the process of becoming certified as ski instructors.

WeAreSno organized the training, the ski instructor certification exam, the accomodation, our job placement after the exam with NVSS, and so much more. I really feel that WeAreSno offers the best and most seamless experience of all the programs that do this in the Niseko area.

I feel as though I'm a part of a very special family that is WeAreSno, and I'll always have that even after I move on to the next step in my life.

WeAreSno is an awesome company that helps to give you the best start into instructor life. Great supervisors- they feel more like friends than anything - help to settle you into a new country and are really helpful for any questions you could ever have.

The instructor training was super in depth and well structured, the teachers experienced and kind, always pushing you to what you can be and always giving you something to work on.

Once you pass your exam, the ski school you will get to work with is one of the best in the area and all who work there are welcoming and friendly.

The overall experience is amazing for a gap year or for looking to find a new career and I'm super grateful I've been able to come out with WeAreSno.

I was initially unsure on whether instructing in Japan was going to be right for me but after some more research into the company and conversations with Adrian I was sure that I would enjoy the experience.

In the first few weeks we received really fun training and everyone felt well prepared when it came to the exam. The first few weeks were also great for getting to know all the other interns as we’d be skiing together during the day and then taking part in social events in the evenings. I’ve definitely made friends for life on this course!

What was also great was that once we passed our exams we all got to work for the same ski school! Possibly one of the best jobs in the world as you get to experience the famous Japanese powder whilst also working!

If becoming a ski/snowboard instructor is of interest to you definitely pick We Are Sno, I’ve enjoyed every minute and am currently researching where to do my next season!

I was apprehensive initially about taking the plunge from my normal 9-5 officejob,moving to the other side of the planet and moving into the complete unknown. However from the get go I was helped along the organising process, from equipment to visas from the we are sno team. Everything was extremely smooth and straight forward. Working on a skiing slope is 1000x better than sitting in an office behind a screen. Days off are days skiing its amazing!

Knowing I was going to be meeting 23 new people and living them was exciting, it felt as if everyone on the course was hand picked as everyone got along with everyone. It was so nice knowing I was to be making life long friends with these people.

Big thank you to Ed and Dewansh, who organised many social events, sushi nights, karaoke, nights out around town, meals cooked by the hostel, this really made the group one big family.

I could not reccomend Wearesno enough, everything ran smoothly, the training programme was amazing, the people are amazing, Japan is amazing, they have definatley picked the best resort in the world!!

Choosing to leave a well paying office job in Australia to become a snowboard instructor in Japan was not an easy decision to make, but I'm super glad I chose WE ARE SNO to help me through that transition.

They were happy to assist with all my questions before and during the application process. There is a short screening interview to ensure all individuals are like-minded, fun and mature people that will become new lifelong friends.

Hearing horror stories from other instructors, I'm grateful for all the extra effort the WE ARE SNO team put in - the social dinners and nights out during the training process, supermarket runs and partnering with the best course trainers and ensuring a full season's work thanks to their strong ties to the affiliated ski school.

You really should have no doubts in selecting who to partner with to embark on this journey of a lifetime, WE ARE SNO are definitely heads and shoulders above their competition.

I wasn't planning on going to Japan to become a snowboard instructor, but then I found WE ARE SNO.

As soon as I contacted them, I was really confident in the company being able to deliver an amazing experience abroad and they sure followed through. The made the transition to a new country so easy and made sure we were on the path to success. This was the best experience I have ever had and I've made a bunch of lifelong friends. The memories we made that season were incredible!!

Don't hesitate to trust these guys because they will deliver above and beyond any expectations you have. Being an instructor is such a great job and being able to do it in a country like Japan was amazing.

When I decided I wanted to do a paid ski internship, I researched a few companies to train with. After speaking to Adrian on the phone my decision to go with WAS was made. The clarity and organisation of the company was outstanding. After spending the snow-filled season in Japan teaching and gaining both my NZSIA Level One and Two Certifications, I can purely say WAS exceeded my expectations! It was one of the best experiences of my life!

The accommodation over the training period at Stoked felt like home, along with the amazing WAS gang selected by the company who are all friends for life! The organised trainers from Propeak were extremely experienced, encouraging, knowledgable, and will do whatever they can to help you succeed. Not only was the training outstanding, but WAS organised so many social events through out the season to keep everyone together and it really did, and still does feel like a family. As well as this, Adrain and Ed were there for you whenever you needed them!

I'm now in New Zealand working as a full-time instructor for my second season and will make every effort to travel around and catch up with fellow WAS members who are scattered around the country teaching as well! I never thought I would find a career I would love so much, and thanks to WAS I have!! I'm currently applying for jobs for a third season!

This course was exactly what i was looking for to experience what its like to work a season one the slopes. We received training with a really professional team before our exam that got placed into a snow school that provided really good training and services for the staff. I've made so many friends on the way and would definitely recommend to anyone who is even considering doing a season overseas. WE ARE SNO took good care of us and made sure everything was going smooth the whole way through. Good job Ed!

If you are on this page reading this review, chances are you're probably deciding between what company to go to in order to pursue your dreams of being an instructor. WELL, let me tell you that your search has finally ended and your decision will be made.
We Are Sno (WAS) provided hands down, the most incredible experience of my life and I'm 28 years old so that's saying something. From the minute we were personally greeted at the airport, to the intimate dinners that WAS hosted for us and to the day we were chauffeured into our staff accommodation at the ski school, the team made me feel so cared for and part of a family at all times. WAS made sure they picked other instructors who had similar personalities so the friends I made by the end of the trip were friends for life.
Ed & Adrian were ALWAYS there to answer the bajillion questionsI had and made sure everyone knew what they were doing at all times. I love organisation!! They introduced us to the best of the best in the snowboarding/ski world to obtain the best training in order for all of us to pass our exams (which we all did!). They made sure we were placed in well respected snow school who took care of their staff.
I know for a fact that we were taken care of far better than other companies out there who offered you a course to become an instructor. By the end of the season, others who were NOT part of We Are Sno were left with contracts cut short, no season passes and no opportunities to progress to level 2 certifications.
They are real people just like us who share the same passion so you are guaranteed to have an unforgettable experience. Hand on heart would encourage my family, friends and strangers to take this opportunity with WAS!

From the outset, the communications and support from Wearesno team (Adrian) was brilliant. Timely and great at gently prompting my son to get organised!
Qualifying aas a Level 2 Instructor in one season is challenging but my son Lewis achieved this with exceptional coaching and guidance. Quite simply, it has changed his life. He has found his dream career and has secured his second instructing post in NZ. His time in Niseko, supported by Ed and the global friendships he has made have given him so much more in life. Cultural awareness, resilience to navigate challenges away from home and memories that will last a lifetime! I recommend Wearesno without reservation, thank you for an amazing season in 2018/19.

Right from the first contact We are sno were highly professional and extremely helpful.
There was excellent communication before we arrived out in Canada and we were met at the airport by Adrian who quickly put everybody at ease and helped make everybody feel at home.

The accommodation selected was top notch. A great hostel in and quiet town near the ski hill but with enough going on to keep us all amused.
Activities were organised for getting the group together, having some great laughs and working on some key skills which would help over the course of the season.

The training for our level 1 course was excellent at Mount washington. Trainers there are brilliant instructors and the improvement to both skiing ability and teaching ability was quick to see.
I also did the level 2 training and avalanche safety module which went even further to proving this point.

Working at Mount washington is a great experience. Hands down the best job I've ever had! It's a small mountain with a good group of staff which we got to know quickly. Everyone helps each other out and the variety of work is excellent. From teaching all ages and abilities to helping out in other departments where needed. A well chosen resort for completing such a program.
I will hopefully be returning to work again next year.

I would highly recommend the we are sno internship program to anyone looking to get away for a ski season or looking to start off in the industry.

We Are Sno are awesome! I would have never seen myself settling in to such a foreign environment like Niseko in Japan as well as I managed to without the help of We Are Sno's guidance. The whole experience with them has been amazing, from arrival in Japan all the way through the season there has been help and networks to support everyone!

The training and accommodation that was provided as part of the package was amazing, it allowed us as hopeful instructors to become qualified instructors very smoothly and without any hitches. As for the rest of the group of guys and girls that were training and qualifying alongside me they were (and are) all great fun people and there has been no struggles getting along with any of them! This ease with each other was also helped along by the We Are Sno point of contact in Niseko, Ed, who organised many great fun events which created a real bond between all the instructors and a much better understanding of some Japanese culture and also some ski town cultures too!

In all, if you are even thinking about taking a part of the We Are Sno program then do it! It has got me hooked on the instructor life and many others too but most of all it has allowed me to have the most enjoyable 5 months or so I could have possibly imagined!

I was apart of the We Are Sno crew that went out to Japan for the 2018/2019 season. I honestly couldn't imagine coming out to Niseko, Japan, any other way. Since I first contacted the organisation I soon learned how organised and well communicated the company is. They were very transparent with everything leading up to the trip and any questions I had were answered quickly and with professionalism.

We Are Sno provides you with an extremely easy transition into the life in Niseko. The crew of people I came out here with to do my training and become instructors with were like minded and amazing people. I have made many close friends and some great connections all thanks to We Are Sno. Instead of going straight to a ski school, I couldn't stress enough how awesome it was to do it with this company. You will get to experience some things you normally never would have. From the social events organised at Karaoke to the Japanese hot pot dinners made for us. You are introduced to the culture in a supportive and incredibly fun environment. A season I will never forget! Thank you Ed, Adrian, our hosts Yoko, and Peter, and our trainers Nathan, Scotty, and Campbell.

Right from the start, I knew exactly what was going on as soon as possible, the organisation was incredible. The quality of the accommodation and training were both fantastic, with there being nothing I would change about either of them. They threw us into the culture, encouraging us to try everything, and organising a load of different social activities which were all awesome. The organisers Ed and Adrian were very down to earth and easy to communicate with, whilst sorted everything that was needed. The trainers Nathan, Scotty and Campbell were all very easy to get along with and all incredible instructors, providing our group with another 100% pass rate for We Are Sno.

Not only was the course quality outstandingly high, the cost was significantly lower than that of other similar courses. This was evident after a few conversations with members of other courses.

I cannot thank everyone (including the other course members, many of which I'm sure I will be shredding with for many years to come) enough for this amazing experience. Do yourself a favour and get on the We Are Sno course. You won't regret it :p
