The process was fairly quick and straightforward. The call handler was knowledgeable and very helpful.
No pressure and call handler found a better offer at a better price. Therefore I was happy and able to renew without any difficulties. All queries answered swiftly and handler was polite throughout. Great service.

I approached Gallagher seeking Professional Indemnity insurance for my business and unfortunately the experience became very time-consuming and frustrating.
The main issue was communication. I was repeatedly told that information would be sent or that I would receive a callback, but this often did not happen. I made several phone calls and sent multiple emails chasing updates, with little or no response from the agent responsible for my case.
A significant amount of time passed before a quotation was eventually provided. After reviewing the quote and requesting clarification around the scope of cover and the terms, I was subsequently advised not to proceed because the quotation was not suitable for my business activities. This was particularly disappointing because the business activities had already been explained in detail earlier in the process.
What I found most frustrating was the amount of time invested before reaching that conclusion. Had the suitability been assessed earlier, it would have saved a considerable amount of effort on both sides.
To be fair, other Gallagher staff members I spoke with were polite, helpful and did their best to follow up, forward emails and request callbacks. My concerns relate primarily to the handling of the case by one particular agent rather than every member of staff I interacted with.
My experience was that the process lacked responsiveness, clarity and ownership, and ultimately resulted in a quote that was not fit for the stated requirements.

Wasted my time twice gave me a price on the web site then changed there minds when I phoned them to pay waste of time. You send ages putting all the information truthfully and accurately only to get a price and not have it honered don’t bother is my best advice

Pleasure to deal with Sam when renewing our various company insurances at Atlas Translations Ltd - highly recommend.

I have been trying to get them to Updated Certificate of Insurance for 10 days, most insurers would have had it done in 2-3 business days. 4 emails, no replies. 4 calls, unacceptable replies.

Call one - Underwriter is working on it, it should be done shortly.
Call two - Underwriter is out, we left a VM for you
Call three - Underwriter is out, we left a VM for you
Call four - Underwriter is off today, we left a VM for you

Then I did get a call back Friday stating that they could not get a hold of their underwriter *shocker*.

Their policy forces you to pay 30% when you cancel, even for this bit of incompetence.

I’m a Which member and use that organisation plus other sources to make decisions in striving to purchase the best value for money combined with confidence in the product whether an object or a service such as insurance. Despite being an LV client for decades the company refused to offer an empty property insurance having paid an initial premium after 60 days. The honoured the policy until its annual renewal and refused cover. Gallagher’s was suggested and I phoned and feel myself fortunate that I spoke to Brendan.
It was a long drawn out process and the interaction was recorded. There are obvious protocols that Brendan had to follow but I do feel that he made it as client friendly as possible. I hadn’t read the reviews (unlike me!) but signed up to a policy on a month by month basis until the property is sold.
I think the process should be simplified but if you need to insure a property which is unoccupied for whatever reason you would be fortunate to speak to Brendan and I can only assume his colleagues will give you the same service.
