What a shocking company
What a shocking company. As a Dr I treated a young boy and girl who had stepped on broken glass in thier badly maintained car park at Harlyn Bay where lots of broken glass was left on the on the exit from the beach. These were bad lesions that required stitching. They could view this on their CCTV yet did not accept this. What this meant was going over my exit time by 24 mins while I treated the 2 children who were very upset, which was not actually over time as I had spent 30 mins trying to get a ticket when I first arrived. So if you use an Alliance parking car park, pay for twice the time you need, dont help anyone with a medical emergency and expect a completly in human response if you appeal. I do not know how the people that contract Alliance (ie the Prideaux Place Estate) can employ these people. Harlyn bay beach is nice - but I wont visit again
Absolute crooks.
I received a parking fine for overstaying at Harlyn Bay - accepted fault, 20 minutes late leaving because my 4 year old had a meltdown in the car park. My complaint is that the parking fine was posted a day after I went on holiday and the period to pay the £60 ended the day before I came home. I attempted to contact Alliance and ask for an extension to pay the £60 and that I wasn't trying to appeal the fine. I was sent around in circles and told it counted as an appeal, so I followed the process and again stated I would pay but wanted another opportunity to pay £60. This evening my appeal was rejected (a month later) because 'the signage in the car park is clear' and I was late. Looks like there's a stock letter that they send out after 28 days without even bothering to read what you have written. I have been told that I can appeal again, but if my appeal is rejected (which according to Gemini it sounds like it will be!) I get to pay £170 instead. Absolute crooks.
Paid for parking but appeal rejected
I paid £9 to Alliance Parking at Promenade Car Park, Perranporth on 30 July 2026 and have bank/card evidence showing the payment to Alliance Parking on that date.
I subsequently received a £100 Parking Charge Notice. I appealed and provided evidence that the parking had been paid for, but my appeal was rejected on the basis that the charge relates to an alleged failure to display the ticket rather than a failure to pay.
The photographic evidence provided with the rejection contains considerable reflection/glare through the windscreen, which in my view makes the dashboard difficult to assess clearly.
I have now requested the original photographs and other relevant information so that I can properly understand the evidence relied upon.
I am very disappointed that, despite being able to demonstrate payment for the parking, the charge has not been cancelled. I will update this review when the matter is concluded.
Awful company Be Warned Before you Park
Awful company. Be warned if parking in one of their carparks, if you go over the fine is extortionate and if you try to appeal may lose your right to the cheap parking fine. Doesn't matter how long or short you go over your parking charge time frame. Why don't these companies ask you to pay on your way out. Its so wrong that these companies pray on peoples genuine errors
Parked in Polzeath at Tristram car park
Parked in Polzeath, Cornwall in an Alliance ran car park. When signal finally connected we paid for 6hrs parking. We returned later that day in what we thought was good time. Leaving the car park 5mins over 6 hrs. Alliance issued a £60 fine, which was on the cusp of rising to £100 after taking 14 days to arrive due to 2nd class postage. Rogue Trader behaviour.
Poor practice
As with many other customers was not aware that parking charge was exactly from the time of entry and exit from car park. No allowances for time getting a signal unpacking before finding the parking metre. Money making procedure. Council appear powerless.
Refused to acknowledge emails to appeal…
Refused to acknowledge emails to appeal a parking fine for my Parents, despite them having evidence of the tickets that they purchased for their stay in the car park. They’re in their 70s and not good with IT so only being able to contact via online chat to a robot is not helpful.
Received a parking ticket for Harlyn…
Received a parking ticket for Harlyn Bay Car Park, Cornwall for which I had paid and have the proof from my Bank!
This is modern highway robbery
This is modern highway robbery! We paid at the end of the stay , they fined us 60£. When asked why, proof of debit card pay attached , they explained that we had extended the paid parking time with 15 minutes. Which is nonsense because we paid when we left.
Don’t trust that company, it’s fraud
Ripped off !
Pulled up in the car park at Harlyn Bay Cornwall. Paid for 1hr - spent 33minutes and 9 seconds. Got home and I’d received a parking ticket for over stay ?! Huh !?!! Apparently you must have bought your ticket within the first 10mins of passing by their ANPR entry/exit camera. Didn’t matter that I had only used 33minutes and 9 seconds of a 1hr stay period. Absolute bandits ! Appeal process is useless. You will not be successful in arguing your case. They do not care. You will, like me, just end up £100 worse off. As no one wants to end up with CCJ, you just pay up. Even when you’re in the right. Clever business model !! Unbelievable really. Getting away with taking Joe Public for an absolute ride. They need thoroughly investigating and shutting down. Complete bunch of shysters !
Just another to add to the list
Just another to add to the list. £170 fine for a parking ticket that I never received.
Was first contacted by Trace Recovery requesting £170 for a ticket from 2023. I was never sent this, so never had the option to pay the reduced fee, then had the debt companies fee added on top. Tried every which way to contact Alliance to negotiate or discuss this, but they are not contactable once a ticket is over a certain age, which seems very convenient for them. Trace Debt recovey were equally as unhelpful with this. Alliance's "Proof of Postage" is provided by Unity5 which just details the date and time the parking operator's software processed the notice for dispatch, whoch to me doesnt seem like sufficient proof and does not show it ever reached the postal service. All in all, seems to be a very lucrative scam that they are running. Have raised it with citizens advice, can only hope this is escalated and this horrendous company can stop ruining so many people's trips / days out.
£240 for four stops lasting a total of 85 minutes — no proportionality and no meaningful response
I received four £60 Parking Charge Notices from Alliance Parking relating to four short entries into Sea View Car Park in Polzeath over two days.
The exact recorded visits were:
8 May: 09:35–09:46 — 11 minutes
8 May: 12:05–12:36 — 31 minutes
9 May: 09:24–09:46 — 22 minutes
9 May: 12:34–12:55 — 21 minutes
That is £240 in charges for four visits totalling just 85 minutes.
The circumstances were straightforward. On each day, I briefly entered once to drop off my wife, together with her equipment, for a surf lesson and once to collect her afterwards. I remained with the vehicle and was not using the car park for an ordinary day at the beach.
Alliance Parking’s ANPR system treated these four short drop-off and collection visits as four separate parking events.
I am not using this review to argue about whether Alliance Parking was legally or contractually entitled to issue the notices. My criticism concerns the complete absence of proportionality, understanding and human discretion.
The four notices totalled £240. Because I was driving a rental vehicle, Europcar also imposed four £50 administration fees, adding another £200. The overall consequence was therefore £440 for four brief visits totalling one hour and 25 minutes.
I explained the circumstances and appealed. When the appeals were rejected, I made a final settlement proposal. I offered to pay £200—only £40 less than the full discounted amount demanded—if Alliance Parking would recognise the situation proportionately as one drop-off and collection arrangement on each of the two days.
Their entire response was:
“Thank you for your email. Your settlement offer is declined.”
I then wrote again, saying that I was prepared to pay the full £240 but asking whether they could show some sympathy or help me recover even part of the £200 rental-company fees. There was no substantive engagement with that request.
Again, I am not saying that Alliance Parking lacked the contractual power to impose four charges. I am saying that demanding £240 for visits of 11, 31, 22 and 21 minutes, refusing a settlement only £40 below that amount, and providing virtually no engagement with the individual circumstances demonstrates a complete lack of proportionality and customer consideration.
The issue is not simply whether the maximum charge could be imposed. It is whether it was fair or reasonable to insist upon every penny once the full situation had been explained. Alliance Parking showed no willingness to reduce the amount by even £1.
Anyone using a car park operated by Alliance Parking should be extremely cautious. Even very brief entries can be treated as separate chargeable events, and based on my experience, appeals to context, fairness or common sense are unlikely to influence the outcome.
Parking so good you'll pay for it twice
Obviously nobody is checking Trustpilot before they decide where to park, and Alliance state they wont respond to any of these reviews, but wanted to add one anyway!
Absolutely disgusting company. Parked in Sea View car park Polzeath to visit the beach. Paid using the machine when we arrived and then added some extra time via the app. It took us a few minutes at the end of our stay to get the car packed up and leave. Now I've received a fine through the post for the sake of 8 minutes having already paid for 3.5 hours of parking on the day!
Apparently the car park is owned by Ann's Cottage Surf Shop. Perhaps they would be interested in reading these reviews, and the ones on Google Maps, so see what an unpleasant experience Alliance Parking have made visiting their village.
Not a worse company than this
Not a worse company than this. Will be avoiding all alliance parking car parks moving forward, absolutely no exceptions.
Received a parking ticket in Nov 2023…
Received a parking ticket in Nov 2023 for failing to enter car details. Fair enough, although I was unaware local cafe had changed to this system.
Paid the (reduced!) £60 fine immediately on receipt of their letter.
2 1/2 years later, debt collectors letters start arriving for £170. Apparently, the payment was made outside of their 14 day window from date they sent their letter.
Not the date I received it and became aware of it.
I will see these reptiles in court.
Parasites
A few minutes over time, principally because I'd effectively been 'boxed in'.
No point in appealing - these companies are disgusting.
But hey! That's UK 2026!

Unable to be human.
Unable to be human.
Parking fine issued to a disabled driver on a very windy day as the ticket was blown upside down on the dashboard.
Evidence provided to prove payment made, the weather on the day, and the blue badge of the driver. They have ignored this, and infact cited "that if the driver didn't like the terms, they could have parked somewhere else"
Absolute scum profiteering of the backs of genuine acts of nature.
Park correctly and get a ticket from Alliance.
Issued us with a parking notice when we had parked correctly, obviously trying like all parking companies to bully drivers into paying. Eventually acknowledge their mistake, no apology just told us they would let us off 'as a gesture of goodwill!' Warned us to obey their terms and conditions in the future. What an awful vile company! Our Government must do something to ban these evil parking companies demanding money with menaces.
Extortion . . . Avoid At All Costs!
This company are little more than criminals - sending out threatening letters demanding extortionate amounts of money - including thinly veiled threats of resorting to "enforcement" to gain payment. The car park that we allegedly overstayed in had no functioning payment machines when we were there but as the company's websites Appeals section is "conveniently" not available at the time of writing this, there appears to be little option but to pay. If I could give zero stars, that would still be too many.
