An unethical and immoral company.
This company chose to send five parking charges in the post four of which were retrospective.
After being a made aware for the first time that a space in our local car park was not an allowed space I paid the parking charge notice and of course never parked there again.
I have over the course of time seen many cars parked there and thought it was safe.
Alliance parking continued to send four further parking charge notices 3 of which I paid their notice states if I didn't pay quickly I would end up paying £170 instead of £60.
Buy the fifth parking charge notice I was feeling desperate and I decided to appeal to alliance parking first as that is their protocol then as of course I had no joy with them I took it to and independent appeal.
Sadly posting parking charge notices is lawful the appeals committee committee did say that at any stage of my paying all of these parking charge notices alliance parking could have stopped the process and they chose not to.
Lawful unfortunately yes moral and ethical definitely no.

I (along with many others if you simple Google Harlyn Bay Parking) have been unfairly penalised for not buying a ticket fast enough at Harlyn Bay despite the impossibility of doing so given queues, challenges in downloading the app over a poor mobile signal and the natural time it takes to get a family out of the car. I think these practices are completely unethical when people ARE paying for their tickets (I can understand if people are deciding not to pay at all). The issue could be resolved by offering a 10 minute grace period or simply the app or machine telling the driver what time they drove past the camera to avoid a fine by 'backdating' their start time.

AVOID! Wicked, gluttonous, money grabbing company! They just want your money and not for parking but from hefty fines they issue. If you are even a second late leaving the car park, it'll cost you £60, £100 or £170! Every second counts! They will not negotiate with you or be prepared to consider any extenuating circumstances. If you leave late because you fell and broke your leg - they don't care, you will pay a fine! If you did not receive the PCN letter, they don't care, they will charge you the higher amount. Their pay machine is broken - it'll be YOUR fault, not theirs, you will be fined! One can go on and on and on... The bottom line is - AVOID at all costs! Their car parks are a trap, set up with the sole purpose of catching you out and sending you a fine! Read the reviews and the FAQ section on their website - it says it all!
PS Shame there isn't a 0 star rating, as it would be all they would get but one has to pick at lease 1 star! :(

rip off paid £5 charge displayed ticket wrong reg on ticket apealed but fined £100?

Used JustPark app in Padstow and entered correct registration number, decided to change parking duration. Went back a page on the app, changed duration and paid for parking. It wasn't until I got the PCN did I realise that the JustPark app had re-selected my default registration number. So, I have proof that I paid for my parking session but not for the correct car (my wife's). Appeal was immediately rejected with no way of contacting Alliance to discuss the issue further. I've now gone to the IAS but expect nothing to come of it.
Alliance are the pits and I hope they get their comeuppance at some point.
I'm going to contact Padstow Town Council to express my ire, please do the same as it might change things going forwards.

Cornwall is a dead zone the majority of beaches, Harlyn being one. Machines always very slow, not working or so busy you can queue for ten minutes and that’s without walking five minutes to the machine but the camera starts timing you as soon as you enter what a disgusting money grabbing travesty for Cornwall

Oh, what a heartwarming tale of family togetherness during the oh-so-rare post-Covid break! I mean, who doesn't love shelling out a fortune for a whopping six hours of parking? And naturally, being just a teensy-weensy six minutes late in Cornwall's time warp is clearly a crime against humanity deserving of a fine larger than my monthly grocery bill. But fear not, dear folks, for our beloved Cornwall seems to have embraced the trend of hosting its very own carnival of scammy, cowboy-themed car parks. How quaint!

Oh, how utterly delightful it must be to receive a charmingly menacing letter demanding the modest sum of £170, only to be offered the chance to settle for the bargain price of £100! Clearly, these modern-day Robin Hoods have perfected the art of extracting hard-earned cash from unsuspecting victims. I must applaud their innovative approach—forget automatic number plate readers like in sophisticated places like London, these car park wizards are all about manual calculations and a touch of future-predicting mysticism. Move over, Marty McFly!

And let's not forget the impeccable accreditation and membership programs run by none other than the portly, well-fed feline ex-bosses. After all, who needs impartiality and fairness when you can have connections and a cozy relationship with those who hold the gavel? I must admit, the allure of appealing to these benevolent overlords sounds positively thrilling—assuming, of course, that one has a strong penchant for masochism and a stockpile of stress balls.

But ah, dear readers, before we get too carried away, let us not miss the larger picture. The rise of these car park charlatans in our modern world is nothing short of a historical parallel to the good ol' 1940s London slum landlords and loan sharks, preying on innocent families just trying to catch a break. So, hats off to you, Alliance Parking owners, for preserving this timeless tradition and allowing us a glimpse into a bygone era of financial exploitation.

Awful Company. I am disabled and it took me several minutes to leave the car park and got a £60 charge for overstaying. If anyone from Cornwall Council is reading this, then please take on board the damage these companies are doing to your tourism. They are a member of the IPC but refuse to follow their guidelines i.e. 10 minute grace to leave the car park. After 40 years of visiting Cornwall this will be my last!

Cowboys outfit - parked Harlan Bay took time to find space due to deep pot holes in car park, had to negotiating same leaving. But fined for over staying my time. Here’s an idea invest in car park and barriers so people pay legit rather than fining them and using funds for directors holidays. This company are working hard to encourage Cornwall tourist trade. It will be a longtime before I visit again.

Pissing down with rain in a wheelchair, couldn't find the pay point, showed my blue badge in a wheelchair accessible vehicle. Appealed on this basis and turned down. This company is sick in the head. When are the authorities going to tackle these money grabbing bar stewards?

Absolute cowboy company running a racket IMO, avoid at all costs! Expect a PCN fine even if you park legitimately with a valid ticket! Ignore the departure time on your ticket, they charge you from the moment your car enters the car park with cameras, they don’t consider the time it takes to park, walk to machine and pay… in my case at Harlyn Bay one ticket machine broke causing queues at the other, the phone signal was non existent so online payment impossible, I bought a ticket and we were departing before the departure time shown, but no Grace given and they don’t care about the time it takes to park and buy your ticket in good faith! Avoid these Cornish cowboys at all cost!

Only giving one star as no option for zero. Do not park here. Fined £60 for a few minutes overstay due to getting out of the car and walking to the machine! Awful company, avoid.

I’m just adding to the poor reviews. Drove into Daymer Bay car park took a few minutes to park and decided because weather poor to not stay never got out of car! Arrived back from Cornwall and fine awaiting. Put right off Cornwall . Return to park attendant and employ people not greedy companies. Only good places to visit our National Trust car parks clearly setting out fees.

BEWARE when using Alliance Parking uk, read all the reviews it will tell you all you need to know, ruined any of the lovely memories we had of Cornwall, never have we heard of such parking practices.

It’s illegal to apply T&C’s retrospectively, ie. the car park charge period can only commence once you’ve seen and read the parking company’s terms and conditions pertaining to that facility and, having accepted them, paid for the required parking period. Should the time recorded by a camera for entry to a car park be different to the time printed on a ticket then the whole process is flawed and becomes unenforceable. Alliance Parking must know this but still persist in endeavouring to obtain money by false pretences. I’m surprised that the respective “Trading Standards” for each County Council where they operate haven’t already taken issue with them and curtailed their activities.

Like others have posted about this company shame you cannot leave minus points.I visited the old station yard in Fowey on the 29th of June whilst on holiday in Cornwall,have been to Fowey on numerous occasions whilst in Cornwall, and being disabled and unable to ride there minibusses would usually park in one of the small carparks in the town,On this occasion then trying to enter the town was met by a road closed sign so turned around and went down via the ferry road and into the car park ,having got no change and reading the notice down loaded the app onto my phone after three attempts I am 73 and apps and I don't mix,I paid just park £5.60 via my credit card but was unable to enter my reg or anything else so my wife carried on into town whilst I tried to contact just park who were not able to help and said just appeal if you receive a PCN which I have ,I have appealed but now its when the charge goes from £60 to a £100 whilst I wait for the outcome of my appeal which contained proof of my payment BUT if you read the notice the charges are from when you entered the car park which in my case was 10 minutes whilst I downloaded the app tried three times to make payment.I don't expect to win my appeal because the payment I made was from 15.30pm for 5 hours. If I wait 28 days which they say appeals are decided its a £170. How are companies like this allowed to access DVLA website .The council is no better why not just leave it as a card payment car park like other in Cornwall.seems this company should be shut down

Why are these people even allowed to operate? They trick you at every step. We parked at Harlyn Bay Beach, paid for one hour. The machine prints a ticket with your end time on it, but what you don't know is that the camera scanned your car reg the second you entered the car park, so even if you leave within time, you still get fined! Surely this should be illegal. We are just in the process of appealing it, but not very hopeful.

Do not use this carpark I visited in June and was timed from the second I entered the driveway. Queued for ticket paid for 4 hrs and returned to my car in that period. You are photographed as you enter the driveway again as you leave and that is the time you are charged for. There is no allowance for queuing to pay or the time it takes drive in or out. I was 2 minutes outside this. Up to £170 fine. There are plenty of other beaches
around do not support this company in anyway.( review does allow no stars)

If I could give a zero, I would! Overstayed by 20 minutes on one occasion due to child needing a last minute comfort break. Full payment was made on the other 3 occasions I used this car park during my week in Cornwall- This was a one off, unforeseen circumstance. No discretion and no compassion!

Alliance Parking will treat your customers in a way that will ruin their customer experience, and deter them from future visits. Would not recommend to any landowners, unless you want to profit from their unfair interpretation of the law and upset lots of people.
