AVOID. We have always successfully received Business Rates Relief. However, last year we switched to Appeal Business Rates, and they failed to submit our application correctly. As a result, we did not receive the relief, despite our business circumstances remaining unchanged. It took almost a year to receive the rejection of our application and there was no communication from the company throughout the process. I would not recommend their service.

Appeal business rates have been really helpful and saved me an absolute fortune. This company actually cares and helps instead of ripping people off. Would highly recommend.

Working with this team has been one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had. I engaged them as an agent for a potential business rates appeal, hoping for professional guidance and clear advice. Communication was slow, inconsistent, and scattered. At one point, they effectively abandoned the case for several months, asking me to wait without updates. When the case was finally picked up again, I was left waiting weeks more, only to receive the vague conclusion that pursuing the case would not be beneficial for either party. This kind of indecision is completely unacceptable, especially when clear guidance could have prevented unnecessary stress and risk.

I was also misled at the outset when Eric described this as an ‘easy case.’ That false promise caused me to invest time, money, and trust into a process that was poorly managed from beginning to end. It felt as though they were unwilling or unable to commit the attention required to handle the case professionally, despite knowing it could have saved me thousands of pounds.

I requested a full refund of all fees paid, given the poor service and mishandling of the case. Unfortunately, my request was declined. The level of service delivered doesn’t justify the cost - the delays and confusion have left me frustrated and dissatisfied. This experience will definitely remain one of the most disappointing I have ever had with any service provider.

Absolutely amazing company! I have been battling our business rates for almost 2 years and was at a total loss. Darren and his company did what they said they would and after appealing on our behalf won the appeal and also a nice refund back to us from the council. Do not use any other company these are the BEST!

Very rarely do you have the opportunity to deal with companies that get it so right and appeal business rates did more than that l!

Although our case was small the company made strong efforts to respond and when it did we received useful advice that pursuing a possible reduction in rateable value was not advisable at this time.

The person taking the the calls was excellent as was the consultant who rang us back twice when the phones at our end were playing up.

Although we are not now going to pursue a change due to another round of revaluations next year, the experience was positive and I was left with a good impression. Compared to weary no-can-do this was refreshing.

Appeal Business Rates successfully secured refunds from the local council for four of my commercial premises, totalling over £35,000. They also achieved a full deletion of business rates on one of my sites due to it being under construction and uninhabitable.

Their team is extremely professional, efficient, and clearly understand the complexities of business rates. I would highly recommend them to any business owner looking to reduce their rates liability or challenge unfair valuations.

I was sceptical at first however, with a no win no fee option, what's the worst that could happen... The team have been excellent explaining at every point what they were doing and calling when a more complicated element arose. The first repose was a hard NO but they didn't give up and eventually we got the result ABR suggested - a 75% reduction and a very needed and welcome rebate! I will now spend the next week talking to every business I know about how amazing they were!!

We got rated in 2023 at an amount we felt was uncomfortabally high. Contacted ABR with the information and they got straight on the case. Within a few months not only had they reduced the rateable value, but they had demonstrated we should have been zero rated all along. Rates were credited, bills adjusted, and smiles on faces were returned.

Communication from back-office was also first class!

My Pension Fund Managers initially thought Appeal Business Rates could be scammers. Following discussions and further investigations we decided to go with Darren for a fixed fee because he was confident we could obtain a rebate. Last week we received a cheque from our local council for almost £46,000 !

Spoke to one of the managers Andrew. He got back to me withing 1/2h with free advice. Could have charged me for the service but he said there is something I can do myself to handle the situation.

These guys were a god send .I was doing this myself,but the rates department had me going around & around in circles I contacted Appeal buisness rates, and they sorted this out for me no problem .It was a load off my mind 😀.

Having contacted Altus Group for assisting in completing our Check Challenge and Appeal on our Business Rates we have so far found them very efficient in obtaining from us the necessary information to get the process started. Tom Pearson was very helpful and patient in helping me to open my Government Gateway Account and we await the next step in the process with optimism
