Went to Saville gardens in Windsor and ordered an espresso and waffle from an outside cafe. If I knew Benugo were the caterers,I would have changed my mind. As usual, tasteless mass produced food with no flavour other than " chalky". Why do so many wonderful places choose these appalling caterers?
Visited the café in the V&A London
Visited the café in the V&A London. Brioche egg mayonnaise roll was £17 and a small quiche with two salads £18. The rolls were small and brioche is too sweet for this kind of offering. We opted for an orange, sultana and rooibos tea flavoured scone. To our surprise it was served with strawberry jam and cream! the scone was tasty, a bit dry and butter would have been a better option. This mis matched offering cost £6. Hugely disappointed in choice of food - no soup, no savoury hot food and no ordinary sandwiches. Prices are high even for this setting. Next time we will visit somewhere else. Such as shame as café used to be great.
Stale Food
I ordered a Muffin it was stale I explained
It was Stale ( She did not understand)
Anyway she managed to replace it with another stale muffin so that ended up in the bin as well, in short avoid.

I tried Benugo sandwiches at Science Museum. It has very low amount of filling! Wow, your owners/managers should be really greedy!
John Lewis Benugo
I am at John Lewis Benugo - the staff are polite well meaning individuals. So disappointed with the quality of their cakes. Standards have dropped - currently tucking into a dry slice of pumpkin and walnut fudge loaf. For the price a disaster.
Next the frittata - served on a wet plate.
Then the ambience - the manager conducts his meetings with his employees in full earshot of the customers! I feel sorry for the poor waiters. Imagine the humiliation if they are receiving a dressing down. Can we not be a bit sensitive, also do the customers have to squirm while we listen to aims objectives and vision. I am sure you all mean well but as a customer I do not want to know. Please pay attention to what customers are getting for their money.

Lovely staff in Bar and Kitchen and Delicious food. I worked at regents park as a temp and they were always super accommodating.
Outside Royal Observatory poor coffee & expensive
Outside Royal Observatory bought a latte. Small cup not filled to the top and then mostly foam. Hardly a drink!
Pumpkin cake had a pecan/sugar topping which was extra, extra sweet and cake under topping, dry. Very expensive for poor quality!!
Pavilion Cafe Poor Service
Whilst I really appreciate getting a coffee in the heart of Greenwich Park at the Pavilion Cafe, and have been doing so for around five years since the pandemic, the service has been chronically poor. This is both during quiet periods mid-week and even more so at the weekend.
It is noticeable that the staff generally seem unaware of customer needs, getting orders mixed up and also taking a very long time.
They come across as being untrained and disinterested in providing a quality service, which you would expect from the premier cafe in the park. I suspect that the manager on duty has their hands tied and have to manage with what resource they have at the time.
Suggestions would be: ensure that there is enough resource to meet demand, (waiting over ten minutes for a coffee is unacceptable) and to ensure that young staff go through some serious customer training.
Hopefully we’ll see some improvements in the near future.
Abysmally slow service
Our running group regularly visit the Pavilion Cafe in Greenwich Park - which is run by Benugo - after our session on a Saturday morning. The service never fails to be absolutely abysmal. I have no complaints about the quality of the food but the service is disorganised and so SLOW. It's never the same people from week to week and it doesn't seem to matter if there are plenty of staff (which is rare) or very few staff - getting a simple coffee takes forever. This is not helped by the lack of any clear signage about where to order or collect your order which means that people hover about not really knowing where to stand - a few signs doesn't seem too much to ask. I cannot tell you how unhappy our whole group is about this and we would gladly take our business elsewhere if there was anywhere else to go. And now Benugo are running the Sancho cafe also in Greenwich Park with the same issues. This one has a separate window for takeaways, which seems to make no difference to the snail's pace of the service. And of course there are never sufficient staff. Both cafes are in attractive buildings in brilliant locations so I can't understand how Benugo continues to have the franchise when the obviously don't hire or train good staff, or manage them well. Very frustrating.
Overpriced and awful
Overpriced and awful. Monopoly of the parks. Staff mote interested in looking af their phones than serving. Also, If the staff are going to make comments about customers out loud then I would prefer they do so in english.
Horrible Management
I worked for this company many years ago. Horrible management and my Manager was EVIL. He was basically an insecure bully who took pleasure out of causing pain to his staff.
I walked out of the job because of his treatment. Sadly, he talked to HIS bosses and THEY talked to the unemployment people who then penalised me for leaving the job!. I lost a weeks money and left the job centre in tears.
I tried to explain why I left but they wouldn’t listen.
A very bad company!
That HORRIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL boss is now working for LEXINGTON CATERING. God help his employees.
A Disappointing Experience at Benugo
A Disappointing Experience at Benugo, King’s Cross International
During a recent visit to King’s Cross International, I was thoroughly let down by my experience at Benugo near Platform 11. My partner and I, heading to Margate for the weekend, decided to enjoy breakfast at what appeared to be a well-presented and modern café. Unfortunately, Benugo’s service and hygiene practices left much to be desired.
We ordered two sausage bagels, two coffees, and a sausage roll. The first disappointment came with the coffee. Both drinks were poorly made—mine was overly bitter and lukewarm, while my partner’s was weak and watery. When we politely mentioned this to a member of staff, their response was dismissive and borderline rude, leaving us feeling unwelcome. The staff’s arrogance further soured what should have been a simple and enjoyable meal.
As we attempted to overlook the coffee issue and enjoy our food, I noticed a staff member at Benugo handling sandwiches behind the counter. While wearing blue catering gloves, she repeatedly ran her hands through her long, loose hair, which was not tied back, and then continued handling food without changing gloves. She retrieved trays of sandwiches from behind the counter and cleared tables, all while touching her hair and discarding waste, yet she never replaced her gloves.
This concerning behavior wasn’t an isolated incident—another staff member with similarly loose hair was also working behind the counter under the same lax standards. Such practices raised serious concerns about Benugo’s commitment to food safety and hygiene.
Overall, this experience at Benugo was deeply disappointing. Despite its polished appearance, the café failed to deliver on both service and quality. The arrogant attitude of the staff, poorly made coffee, and unacceptable hygiene practices made it clear that the establishment prioritizes style over substance.
I will not be returning to Benugo at King’s Cross International and strongly urge management to address these issues. Customers deserve not just a visually appealing environment but also respect, professionalism, and basic hygiene in their dining experience. Shame on you Benugo!!
Overpriced, stale scone and awful customer service
This was at St Pancras Station. Ordered 2 coffees and 2 scones prior to catching train. Cost nearly £16. I asked the server if butter and knife were included, she said 'yes'. Got on the train only to find they were not in the bag. Too late to do anything about it. Worse still, the scone was hard and dry. For the price I expected much better. Complained TWICE to Benugo on-line, asking for a response. No response to either. Obviously no-one's bothered about what the customer thinks. All about the money.
Blunt waiter
Went regent's park large restaurant on Sunday 2pm, pretty busy time.
We were having late lunch. Sit down, coffee n beer, sandwich n chips... and fun chat.
Then the waiter boy came to clear our table all sudden!! We were still eating, food was still on the plates. Still beer and coffee was left.. i dont get why he though we finish... he didn't even give us apologies. Looked very blunt, no smiles. He could be tired, bu we don't care, what was that customer service?? So rude!! We spent 30pounds for all, then that attitude. The waiter ruined all our fun sunday!
Seriously i can not believe they let him to work there.
Sabir served us in Peter jones/John Lewis benugo / Fantastic customer service
Sabir served us in Peter jones/John lewis in the kings road. Genuine friendliness is hard to come by but Sabir was just that. When I stopped by with my hands full, juggling my coffee order and a baby, Sabir didn’t just make me a great cup of coffee; he noticed the situation and personally brought it to my table. That simple gesture made all the difference. The coffee itself was fantastic.
Benugo Regent's Park
Went to regents park benugo on Friday. Ordered dinner for my daughter and myself. My meal came up and after asking for nearly half an hour was told they had no chicken for the Caesar salad that we were waiting for. No apology given, no updates given in that half hour. Was just ignored by staff or told the food was on its way. Got my money back for the salad. Overpriced, rude staff, even got in contact on X and still no response after 2 days. Not rushing to go back, overpriced food and awful service.
NO stars for this company.
NO stars for this company.
Abba arena London choice of food was horrible wanted a normal basic hot dog but got something resembling a sick bucket , hot dog was cold and had mustard and some other horrible topping on it which I did not ask for. Was VERY OVERPRICED at 15.00 total rip off .
Rude unhelpfully staff need training in customer service .Made the start to Abba experience not very good, luckily we enjoyed the show.
Arrogant staff, coffee and cake inedible and overpriced
I went to Benuga in John Lewis Edinburgh today, for coffee and cake. The carrot cake was dried up the skinny latte was far too strong and bitter as if it had been stewing for hours. My John Lewis card offered money off ie coffee for a £1 if you buy cake at Benuga. The member of staff was so abrupt indicating they don’t take John Lewis cards, I didn’t bother showing the app, as her behaviour was a disgrace. I certainly won’t be back. A day when I was celebrating my birthday I couldn’t be bothered with the hassle. I will certainly tell my friends and family to avoid this place!
Will Not Go Back
We went to the Edinburgh branch in John Lewis . John Lewis used to have a great cafe . Now they have this cafe running in their store . Huge lack of choice , tasteless food and over inflated prices . Not to mention the lack of comfy seating . Couldn’t be much worse . Not what I would expect from John Lewis .
Absolutely appalling customer service!
My husband, adult daughter and I, went for a birthday, at the restaurant at Saville Gardens, in Englefield Green, Egham, Surrey.
Such a huge disappointment & frustrating time.
The customer service was appalling, almost nonexistent and it wasn’t even busy at the time, as we arrived at 3pm for a late lunch.
We were shown to a table immediately and given menus, but then left waiting to order, for around 15/20 minutes!
Waiters were wandering around, not doing much at all and not looking to see if anyone needed service.
I called out to a waiter to ask if we could please order, he just nodded from afar, but walked on without coming over to us…… so I then called out to another waiter, who didn’t exactly rush over to us either.
He took our order of three ‘mains’ (no drinks … we asked for tap water) and they took awhile to come.
The food was ok, nothing special to be honest.
We then asked for 2 coffees and 1 tea to have after we’d finished eating. He took our order and disappeared. Ages passed …. no hot drinks arrived. We could see the kitchen/coffee machine from where we were seated and no one was preparing coffees or teas!
Feeling quite exasperated, my daughter went over to the two waiters who were just standing, chatting by the coffee making area and asked what was happening about our hot drinks!
He said someone was about to make them for us!! She told him that we were not happy with the nonexistent service we had received and asked him to cancel the hot drinks order and to just give us the bill, as we had wanted time to walk around the gardens before it was too late.
She came back to join us and we waited an eternity, before having to ask yet again, for the bill.
When the bill was finally given to us, my daughter saw immediately, that the hot drinks had been charged for!
He took it away, to amend it and came back with a new bill, which still had one tea charged for!
By this stage, we were totally shocked at the unbelievable experience we had had there!
He went away for the second time to amend it …. came back with a corrected bill for just 3 burgers and just handed it to me, waiting for payment.
We certainly did not leave a tip as we had received absolutely no customer service whatsoever…. and not one apology, from any of the waiters, at any stage of our dreadful experience.
We do not intend to ever eat or drink at that venue again.
Absolutely appalling!
