Wir hatten einen Allradwagen für 2 Wochen inkl. Islandversicherung. Lief alles wunderbar. Wir konnten den Wagen sogar ohne Abnahme abgeben, da wir eh gegen alle Schäden versichert waren. Preislich waren sie einen Tick günstiger als vergleichbares Angebote.

I don’t often write reviews, but after renting twice from this company, I feel they truly deserve it.

My first rental was in 2022, when I booked a small Toyota Aygo for a shorter trip around the island. After a long flight, the last thing anyone wants is a complicated pickup process, but everything was incredibly smooth. There were no waiting lines, the process was quick, and within minutes I was on the road starting my Iceland adventure. The car felt almost new and very well maintained, which gave me a lot of confidence while driving in a country where the weather and road conditions can change quickly.

When I returned to Iceland in 2025, I didn’t even think twice about where to rent from. This time I chose a Kia Sportage, since I planned a bigger trip. What impressed me immediately was how the company had improved their digital process. Many of the formalities were handled online in advance, including reviewing and signing the policy. It might seem like a small detail, but after traveling you really appreciate how fast and efficient pickup becomes when everything is already prepared.

Their office location close to the airport also makes the whole process very convenient — you can tell they’ve really designed the experience with travelers in mind.

What stood out to me both times was their transparency and helpfulness. There were no hidden costs, everything was clearly explained, and they took the time to provide useful guidance about driving in Iceland, including tips about F-roads, safety, and who to contact if you need assistance. For someone who isn’t used to Icelandic roads, this kind of support makes a big difference.

Both cars I rented felt very well maintained and reliable, the website is easy to use, and the selection of vehicles is great. Even small things, like the fuel discounts at certain stations, show that they’re thinking about the overall travel experience. Ah, and of course, much much appreciate the fact, that i wanted to test my luck and asked them for a discount as a returning cutomer for my second rental, and they did! This is something that probably cost them nothing, but it is very pleasant and definitely earns the trust of the customers and ensures they will keep coming back and recommending their services.

After renting twice, three years apart, my impression is simple: this company genuinely cares about doing things right. They make the process easy, transparent, and stress-free — exactly what travelers need when exploring a country like Iceland.

It’s easy to see why they have so many great reviews already. I hope they continue doing things exactly the way they do now, because businesses that operate at this level truly deserve to succeed.

URenting with Cars Iceland was one of the highlights of our trip. We rented a car for two weeks and drove all the way around Iceland, and everything worked perfectly.

Pick-up and return were quick and very easy, and the car was practically brand new, very clean and extremely reliable throughout the whole journey.

Having such a good car made it possible for us to explore Iceland at our own pace and enjoy the incredible landscapes without any worries. It truly made our road trip unforgettable.

Cars Iceland was the best rental experience of my well-travelled life! They provided essential tips for driving and visiting Iceland. The self-check in allowed me simply walk in, type a code into the locker holding my keys, grab the keys and go. No lines! No waiting! I also got great customer service when I needed to change the return time. The 4x4 we had was like new and really made for a great trip. Thank you!!
