Overpriced and useless
Overpriced and useless. Fake filler company generated profiles abound, and trying to cancel your payment or membership is beyond a nightmare. T&C's hard to find only on certain main pages of their website and certainly nowhere to be seen in the payment and gateway pages.
Do check the other reviews here on trustpilot and the graph showing the last 12 months of reviews, they have only received 1 positive review in 12 months, which would suggest their positive reviews which I'm sure are neverrrrr posted by fake people and spammers were done some years ago to offset the negative reviews. And they've dropped the ball on the offsets for a while. Haha, so transparent it's ridiculous. I'd say eharmony borders on being a scam business, not quite actually a scam, but awful close.
Terrible site and waste of money
Terrible site and waste of money. Too few users, majority with very little info about themselves and most don't have even one pic. Don't bother, learn from my mistake and save your money
FASLE ADVERTISING
FASLE ADVERTISING! I am looking for matches with similar faith. They have a whole article on the importance of matching values/religion saying they had lots of matches etc.
I joined only to not be able to see anything on a free profile. But it said hundreds of matches. When I paid, suddenly there were very few matches, half without photos and lots are fake profiles too!! Many have not logged in in months etc too. When I contacted them about this it was too bad so sad. Esculating this to ACCC in Australia for false advertising. I have had NO NEW MATCHES since I joined 2 months ago!!
Do yourself a favour and cancel your credit card. Better yet do NOT SIGN UP! Its basically click bait!

Beware…this is all about taking your money.
I have just received a debt collection notice from eHarmony's debt collection agency, Collection House. I had tried for months to contact eHarmony to cancel my subscription. When you try and email them it asks you to log in to your account. I can't log in because I've forgotten my password. I request a password re-set and eHarmony doesn't send it. So I'm perpetually locked out of the account. They have no phone number to contact them either. I haven't accessed the account for months so have not used the service at all. I then get a debt collection letter for over $400 dollars. This company is completely unethical. I don't actually know how they can continue to get away with this unethical business model and scam. The quality of the matches is also terrible. I was never matched with anyone suitable. I had better luck on a free dating website. A total waste of time and money. I wish I'd read these reviews first. Will be reporting to Fair Trading and any other Govt Dept that may be interested.
Absolute rubbish!
Absolute rubbish!
I wish I had read the reviews here before I signed up to a subscription with eharmony. My experience is echoed amongst most of the reviews here. You cannot get out of a 12 month contract after signing up & realising the site is offering nothing. They only offer to transfer your membership to somebody else. There are very few matches, and the profiles seem to be fake. I would say avoid this website and find something else. Zero stars from me
DO NOT JOIN THIS SITE
DO NOT JOIN THIS SITE. Wish I could give no stars. They make their money with unethical lock in memberships. No matches within 50k radius, no photos, obvious fake profiles.
Stay away from this horrendous company and crap dating app
Stay away from it! Just use Bumble, ladies! Really clunky app, not many users, crap experience overall. You can't see anything unless you pay, and I opted for the monthly fee as it seemed lower. Didn't read the fine print. When I realised it was crap and going nowhere, I requested refund and deletion of account. Was then hit with full $471 outstanding payment request for the rest of the year's subscription, which they refused to cancel or refund. They advised me to log into my account to pay the outstanding amount (couldn't, my account was blocked) or use bank details provided to pay (no bank details provided in email), and now, after no further correspondence, they've sent a collections agency after me. Really charming experience! AVOID.
Terrible company!
I'm really disgusted with Eharmony. Six month into a twelve months plan they charged me for another plan that I did not subscribe to. They charged me $658.80 for the new plan! I emailed them, explained the situation, and they didn't help and even wrote at the end of the email that their "decision was final". Reading between the lines, they weren't to listen to me or help me resolve the problem. I reached out to Fair Trading, explained my situation and had a case manager work on my behalf. They were able to contact Eharmony and get my money back. I'm shocked with this behavour. Stay away from this awful company.
They are absolute slime
They are absolute slime! The website is a compete joke, fake profiles, hardly any matches, don't match you with the compatibility score they say they use, it just comes up as a number on anyone. They will steal your money, continually ignore you and refuse to refund you even though consumer protection laws say they have to refund regardless of terms and conditions.
Unethical, misleading and do not use outside US
When I subscribed to membership, the initial email clearly stated that payment is a one-time and that premium trial would end on 8the October. I did not care to read further where it talked about auto-renewal policy. However, this company charged me a whooping $650 without sending me even a single reminder that they are about to do so because they in first place activated the auto-renewal (the part of the email I did not read initially assuming it was a one-time payment).
When I tried to reach out, they denied refund. I am from Aus and unfortunately I cannot recommend this website to anyone outside US because of my experience. Secondly, in an age where every company tries best to let customers know they are drawing close to end of subscription period, this company tries to loot them of their hard earned money. I have tried to request a chargeback and also will try if I can reach out to Australian Consumer court to ban this website from operating in Australia unless they start being honest.
EDIT: The company went a step ahead and have deactivated my account and have not refunded my entire amount yet. So, a perfect example of dictatorship in online consumer goods/services industry where the company charges my stored credit card and feels entitled to decide when/when not should I have access. So, in summary the company refunded me only 50% of the amount ($650) and have also blocked me from using the services. So, I am paying $350 to eharmony for nothing !
I tired to cancel my subscription a few…
I tired to cancel my subscription a few days after I got it. No cooling off period I have being paying 50 dollars for 8 mths. They haven't ever got back to me and I have been sending them emails. I think they should be reported as many people have had the same problem. I will have to cancel my credit card to stop them from charging me for another year. They are a big fraud and should be charged as you can't keep charging people after they cancel it's insane
Appaling Customer Service and Useless Dating Site
I feel as if Eharmony have deleted my previous review! How appalling! I have tried to cancel my subscription within 30 minutes and they are ignoring me. They are operating against Australia Consumer Law and apparently there is no 14 day cooling off period as they advertise! Avoid at all costs!
I signed up for EHarmony subscription so I could actually use the application because you can't see your matches photos, their location OR message them without signing up. Talk about highly unsafe!! Upon signing up to see my matches I had 8, none of which I was interested in or seemed to match my personality after taking their so called personality matching test! When I tried to cancel I was told I could give my subscription to someone else! Who else would possibly want to sign up to this? I got told the 14 day cooling off period was not accessible because I lived in Australia! What an absolute joke, under Australian Law we are entitled to a 14 day cooling off period. I then got slammed with terms and conditions when I refuted the 14 day cooling off period. I have requested to speak to a manager, I can't even call the company to discuss my complaint, I have asked my bank to deny their payments and cancelled my debit card, I am considering taking legal action against them and also contacting the ACCC at this stage. Just avoid at all costs, such an expensive life lesson to learn! All for a lowsy dating site that is supposed to make your life easier!
Awful and misleading marketing
Awful and misleading marketing
Awful - waste of time and a lot of money. I only signed up for a subscription because the website said that there was a 14 day cooling off period - when I tried it and found the service was crap, I requested a cancellation within 2 days of signing up but they said that they could not cancel it and there was no cooling off period. I was locked into a 1 year subscription. This seems contrary to the misleading and deceptive conduct provisions in Australian Consumer Law (not to mention bad faith). Do not recommend signing up.
I hate e harmony. Shameful business Model
I hate e harmony .. their subscription deals lock you in for twelve months .. they take your money and do not allow cancellations. A terrible business model . I recommend you stay away from e harmony.
Forget eharmony & try Bumble, Hinge or RSVP
I have tried a number of online introduction (they're not dating) sites in Australia and after 3 months on eharmony would suggest no one bothers with this site.
It is overpriced and does not have enough members here to provide good matches. Of the Oz members on the site, most are 25-54 and a tiny portion are 55+. I was only offered 80 matches within 50km compared to other sites where the choice is 600+.
While the site promises to continually send you new matches, the problem is that very few new members (matching your selection criteria) join the site so it is effectively a promise they can't fulfill.
The operation of the site doesn't really allow you to conclude this until you become a Premium member.
Save your money and look elsewhere!
Don't waste your time or money
I joined eharmony and stupidly subscribed. I thought I had subscribed for 3 months but it was for year. My fault for not reading the fine print, but I was on for a few days and I emailed them asking them to cancel my account as there were only 10 people within 100km radius. They would not cancel the subscription and even though it was stated online they have a guarantee or 3 months free, they informed me they no longer offer the guarantee. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
Worse than catching covid-19!
Con artists! This is by far the worst experience of my life!! Pathetic matches and worst customer service. They only want your money and don’t give a rats ass about you as a person. Thieves of the highest order! I cancelled my subscription in 24hrs and they will still charge me for 12 whole months. I contacted them many times and they showed no sympathy. If this kind of people work at a dating site, who have zero empathy, you can imagine how the site is run. I have a masters degree and they are matching me with Uber drivers!! Please do yourself a favour and stay away from this site I wish I read the reviews before and did. Will still fight to get my money back
400 bucks down the drain
Absolute con. Minumum cost is $375 UPFRONT. They state they use algorythims to match you, however they gather your personal information on the 20 minute quiz to SELL to 3rd parties. For example, I ticked " surfing ". And was smashed with marketing from surf clothing, surfboards, paddleboards etc that is endless. AVOID this horror experience and DO NOT entertain the thought. I had to cancel my credit card and lodge a fraud report. The T.V adds look great, but it is all a lie. I don't want anyone to go through what I have.
eHarmoney is a scam
I tried eHarmony for a fixed period. My account said I would be billed again on a certain date (e.g. 1/12/2021) for renewal. Six months before this date (e.g. 1/6/2021), I am billed a whopping $600+ for renewal. It is a scam where they give you false information about renewal so that you will likely not cancel in time. Customer service is terribly unhelpful, even though I have screenshots to support the above story. Haven't seen my money back (yet).
