EKOMI's LOW RATING AS A REVIEW COMPANY
If you look at ekomi's overall rating you'll see that they have an exceptionally low rating from both their clients and consumers using ekomi.co.uk as an information source to inform their purchasing decisions. A whopping 80% of people reviewing Ekomi aka The Feedback Company via 'a well-known trusted review site' rate them with the lowest possible score: only 1 star (1.2/ 10 or 0.6/5 stars). In the Review Site category, Ekomi sits at the bottom of the category of all review sites listed (currently 13th out of 13 companies).

MY EXPERIENCE OF EKOMI
I used SIXT car rentals after seeing that they have a very high review rating on EKOMI's website. SIXT are one of ekomi's clients. I made the mistake of not checking other review sites before renting from SIXT car hire. I then had a terrible experience of SIXT, who tried to rip me off for hundreds of pounds. On further research I discovered all the negative reviews of SIXT on Trustpilot, Google and other review forums. On these other review sites SIXT has extremely low scores and reviews from very angry customers sharing experiences of SIXT car rental that are in keeping with my own.

THE EVIDENCE
Compare review scores of SIXT by the well-known TRUSTED REVIEW SITE to EKOMI's scores to see if you find anything suspicious:

+ EKOMI.CO.UK: out of 227 reviews, 1% of reviews are rated 1 star out of 5. SIXT rating on Ekomi: very high at 4.5/ 5 stars.

+ 'The well-known TRUSTED REVIEW SITE': out of 569 reviewers, 85% of them rate SIXT with 1 star out of 5. SIXT rating: very low at 0.5/ 5 stars (1.1 out of 10).

Does this sound strange? Perhaps the minority of reviewers who have had excellent service from SIXT just happen, out of pure coincidence, to write reviews at ekomi, whilst the people who write negative reviews about SIXT by chance just happen to find their way to the TRUSTED REVIEW SITE previously mentioned?

Beware of review ratings on any review site. Cross-check with a few review sites if you are at all concerned about the legitimacy of any company with a positive review rating. You'll be able to identify very quickly the honest review sites when you look at the review scoring trends across the internet.

EKOMI DOESN'T LIKE NEGATIVE REVIEWS
This is a genuine review honestly reflecting my experience of using the ekomi website as a source of information on SIXT before I used SIXT. I feel very misled by EKOMI's review ratings. In addition, I've had to republish this Trustpilot review at least 5 times because Ekomi aka "The Feedback Company" have repeatedly flagged it (and other people's negative reviews - scroll down the reviews to see the ones Ekomi has flagged) in an apparent attempt to have negative reviews removed from Trustpilot and so improve their company's public profile. They have used various reasons such as claiming the review is 'defamatory' and 'is marketing for Trustpilot' etc. I have now reported Ekomi to Trustpilot for harassment.

Also check ekomi's rating on Google and other review sites for comparison (they're based at several locations globally as well as in the UK and Germany).

Isn't it about time Ekomi started listening to feedback from the public and changed its business practices instead of trying to silence its critics?

I feel kinda weird writing a review about a review company.

We have been paying thousands of dollars to this company, to build up a big base of reviews. Then suddenly - from one day to another - the pay is showing up as "404 Not Found" and we are not able to log into our account.

I should mention, that the the last payment they took was AFTER the page went down.

In my experience with them... Ekomi is the worst company in the review space. Response times to customer support emails days if not weeks. They are a foreign company so you have little recourse.

They persist on calling our business despite the fact we've clearly told them that we are not interested.

Got an unsolicited advertising sales call to the office number from Ekomi in Germany. I said no I don't want to speak to you and put the phone down.

He called right back and left a foul mouthed rant on the answer machine.

Unable to post a relief about eglobal on there website. Just trying to warning others. Will

Brilliant review management software, had thousands more reviews using this software, and it enabled me to quickly sort out any issues customers did have, and get a good resolution.

Was called by them, i googled them and started reading these reviews out and they hung up on me...

Really bad experience.
Terms and conditions built this way that vendor has no right to anything.
The company I work for resigned from their service and asked for returning reviews which are belongs to company (common sense!) as it's purely about the product and service provided, but Ekomi wants money for them!

I have attempted on numerous occasions to get a link to review DoYouSpain.com. Neither DoYouSpain.com nor eKomi will provide a review link despite me providing proof of purchase.

Do not trust any review ratings supplied by this company as they are clearly not impartial and the reviews posted are clearly not reflective of the service you can expect to receive.

Well, I now have a review link and I've left my review. What a shock, what I've written will be reviewed by one of the eKomi review managers before it's posted. I'll await to see if they post it or amend it.

We had the worst experience with eKomi.
Despite the fact that you are collecting reviews from your own customers, eKomi like to claim ownership of the reviews. They lock you into long and unfair contracts, then make it hard to brake or end the contract (they give you just a short window to exit before it's automatically renewed). If you can finally get out, they won't let you download or transfer the reviews that you spent so long collecting.

Their platform is outdated, their customer service almost non-existent. There's really no benefit to using them. There are better companies out there with no contracts, cleaner platforms, more useful tools and much friendlier staff.

TLDR: I don't have anything positive to say about my experience with eKomi. We moved to another UK based Reviews company who don't have contracts and have stayed with them ever since. That says a lot!

EDIT: As with other reviews here, eKomi reported mine for "false advertising". There is absolutely nothing false about the lengthy contract they locked us into and the totalled hours of phone calls and expensive bills it took before we could get rid of any ties. They should adjusting their product offering instead of trying to alter their reputation on other review sites.

EDIT 2 (07/08/2018): eKomi have once again reported this review to try and have it removed. I am writing this for full transparency for potential new customers that are reading this. Do you really want to work with a review company who is trying to hide honest reviews of their service? Everything I write here is based on my experience with four separate review companies, so I when I say they are the WORST, I mean it and it is backed.

I would treat all reviews published by this company with a large pinch of salt. There is a clear conflict of interest when reviews that purport to be impartial are published on a site that receives income from the companies that produce the product reviewed. When we use the Internet, we need to think carefully about this - don't expect review sites to bite the hand that feeds!

Edit - after the response below. This was so long ago I don't even remember what it was related to! Says something (else) about the customer service that it has taken them months - or possibly years :-) - to respond, no?

It's actually a terrible service. Customers do not like using their platform and so it was't an effective service.

Moreover I don’t believe their systems and compliance to be robust. Whilst I have new censored by Trustpilot for saying why, let’s just say I think their are more secure platforms out there.

Overall a very bad experience and they are now attempting to hold us to a year contract despite shocking results from their product.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Decided to sign up with them in Jan 2016 and had problems ever since. They installed the software but we could never get it to work. Despite many emails and a letter telling them this, they were all ignored and every month an invoice would arrive, only to be sent back to them with a covering email telling them the software was not working.
Now we have a payment demand from a German company, which will be returned with a more forceful letter, so let us see what happens.

8 days after submitting a support request they have yet to respond - reviews are not being collected and we are paying for a non functioning service. Steer well clear.

They do not work with businesses properly. They are very unresponsive when you have problems with your account. Very unaccomodating. Thank goodness we found a better review platform (truspilot!) that has great support and service!

For a company that claims to efficiently manage customer feedback for other businesses, this company doesn't seem to be capable of managing their own simple feedback. After 3/4 nuisance calls a day, and several requests to be removed from their database ignored, it seems their business practices are unprofessional at best. I would advise you to AVOID, but you may not get the choice!

As with other reviews there seems to be a question on whether reviews are published when they contain negative views of the companies being reviewed. I have had a long chain of emails with ekomi to obtain a review link for a taxi firm (Cheetah Cars) for a very bad experience I had with them and they required a PDF purchase order with the following in order to provide me with a review link:
- Name and full address of the vendor
- Order date
- Order number
- Listing of all items ordered/services provided including item numbers

I never received any of this from the company in question. Are these requirements are to prevent a client from getting a review link at all where the review is likely to be negative? I would welcome ekomi’s response to this query.

I did get a review link for the previous journey I took with the same company so filled out my review in that - they proceeded to vet this review even where a review link has been provided and the purpose for this seems to be to identify the poor reviews. I would welcome ekomi’s evidence on whether they conduct genuine solicitation of honest and real feedback rather than only positive reviews. I query whether the feedback is entirely unreliable or whether reviews are published at all.

I would invite ekomi to respond to this and show us that all reviews (whether good or bad) are accepted from the customers of their clients and represent that they do not have any conflict of interest.

Update : ekomi have again said that there is something wrong about my review and said that parts are defamatory even though I have updated it. My views are honestly held and the number of reviews which ekomi has reported to trust pilot for being defamatory could indicate that they are in the process of trying to strike out poor reviews.

I have invited trustpilot to check whether this company is abusing its website and rules. Trustpilot will not reveal information about their investigation but state that they will investigate where appropriate. The sheer number of poor reviews on this site says something - I will leave it to the reader to draw their own conclusion on this.

Trust pilot - please do the right thing.

Further update: Trustpilot are simply taking the word of ekomi on statements being defamatory- my views are honestly held, factual, ask clear questions and are not defamatory. Notwithstanding this I have edited my review again. I now query the motives of trustpilot. Trustpilot please respond. Please provide a phone number to call or call me rather than sending me emails that you respond to three weeks after my response.

Ekomi is NOT protecting our company against malicious reviews as stated on their homepage. According to Ekomi anyone can leave a review for any reason and they will refuse to help your company dispute it. I have asked for help with 3 separate reviews and Ekomi has flat out REFUSED to help every time. We strongly suggest you consider another company for customer reviews.

Stay way from e-Komi. Un-ethical business practices. Falsifying during the sales process. Software lacks functionality. Doesn't want to make up for their errors. Rigid terms amidst lack of functionality.

We signed up with your service somewhere in October 2015. When we were signing up for e-Komi, to the best of my knowledge, the sales rep mentioned that this is a month to month service. I wouldn't have signed up if I heard otherwise. At the time of signing up, we were with Volusion platform and we were considering the move to Bigcommerce. I was also told by the sales rep that e-Komi will work seamlessly with Bigcommerce.
Had I read the agreement closely when I signed the agreement, I would not have trusted the word of your sales rep at that time.
What's more disappointing is that we were re-signed for another year in 2016. We never receive an email letting us know that we were going to be re-committed to another one year.
Over the past few months, I realized it is important to have a strong UGC base, and with e-Komi's lack of functionality and response, I have decided to change the platform to another service. When I contacted their support team, they told me that I cannot cancel the service until November 2017 and I have to pay for the reviews collected.
I find this has put us, the customer, in a disadvantaged and unfair situation:
1. When we set up e-komi, we were told that your software would work well with Bigcommerce and this is not the case.
2. I also find your rep being dishonest by saying it is a month to month, but charging us for continual annual commitments without our consent, which is very unfair (even though it is my duty to read the contract before signing)
3. I also find re-signing for another one year term when the first year finished to be extremely unfair as well.
4. I find their policy to be rigid about terms and conditions amidst the lack of functionality of your software.
5. They never apologized, accepted or made up for falsifying during the sales process.
6. Wrote a letter to the CEO Michael Ambrose, it doesn't look like it got to him unless he decided not to respond.
