Don't sign up for any service with Equifax!

Don't sign up for any service with Equifax! I cancelled my credit reporting service with them but they wouldn't quit charging my credit card even after I cancelled it. I called them multiple times to resolve it but they didn't do anything. This went on for almost 2 years so I finally had to close my credit card to get them to stop charging me.

What an appalling company

What an appalling company, how is a business allowed to put defamatory remarks against your name without any double checking or confirmation
from the effected party, and then after irrefutably proving its wrong they delegate the responsibility to everyone but themselves for not removing it. Surely they must have accountability for these defamatory entries
This can only affect your credit score, leading to higher borrowing costs.
How can a business be allowed to carry on like this?
How is compensation awarded for such un-professionalism.

THEY ARE THE WORSE CREDIT SCORE BUSINESS IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. THEIR QUICK TO SLAP AN AMOUNT ON THERE. BUT LONG OVER DUE PUTTING DOWN UR CORRECT CREDIT POINTS. IF THEY GIVE U ANY AT ALL. CREDIT KARMA LETS THEM DO THAT! EXPERIAN IS RIGHT BEHIND THEM. FAKE N LATE. Their all of the time full of it. Like they do it on purpose. I HAVE ZERO BALANCE ON ALL OF CARDS. T. J. Business service even worse

As a long time business customer I can say that their business customer service is even worse. Hard to believe but true. They changed to a cloud service for contact for everything from form requests to making payments and went from bad to horrible. I can pay my suppliers online line in a matter of moments but can't get into Equifax to do something as simple as paying my monthly billing. It's been the same every month since the changeover and I can't even get a rep on the phone to change from online billing to paper (mail). So, I'll just hold payment and wait for the inevitable email threat, maybe that will have a number I can call. Horrible service.

The worst customer support I have ever experienced

Received an email saying there was a change on the credit report, tried to log in and it just came up with page saying to phone customer support. Phoned them and was told they wanted the email address. It sounded like a scam so we offered to tell them only certain letters of the email address so they could verify it against the one they held. They refused so we cannot get access to the account. Apart from the customer support being abroad somewhere with staff that are extremely difficult to understand. Awful Awul service.

Appalling treatment …

I cancelled my subscription 1 week into my 30 day free trial, despite this they are trying to charge me £14.95. They now say I cancelled yesterday. It’s a swindle and I don’t know what to do! Deborah Yonge

Can't unfreeze credit

I'm trying to cancel the freeze I put on my credit so my husband and I can buy a house. So far, four phone calls lasting at least 45 minutes each and told the freeze was off. Only it isn't. Horrible horrible horrible customer service. They need to find people who can speak English too.

Equifax Does Not Care

After 2.5 months (6 calls) and a Better Business Complaint, Equifax has been unable to determine a root cause and resolution for me to access my security freeze. Customer Service is nonexistent. I would recommend not purchasing any product, or doing any business with Equifax. The cost in frustration is too high!

No one answers the call

No one answers the call. Automated system repeats “ ok let’s get started. Tell me how I can help you today” non stop.
All 3 credit agencies needs to be shut down and have done other system.
Horrible service from all.

Equifax is a trap! They make cancellation extremely hard.

Curious about my credit score, I signed up with Equifax when they offered a one-month promotion and paid 5.59 Canadian dollars on July 08th, 2023. I found several mistakes on my profile, including my birth year. So, it has little value to me. Before the month ended, on August 3rd, I called them to cancel. The lady asked me for my credit card number. I have three credit cards but I could not remember which card I used. So, I pulled out the first card to try. Then I was told it was wrong, and I didn't have another chance to try another card. I had to mail them my information or cancel from their website online.

When I remembered to do it, they charged me for another month. I'm a senior with decreasing memories. By the time I saw their second charge and remembered to contact them, it was one week before the next payment, which was on September 7th, according to them. However, no feature on their website allows cancellation. I had been searching for a few days. Finally, I had to use an email link on their website to send them an email cancellation notice, but I got a reply that they could not find my membership ID. I asked my brilliant and detailed daughter to help me find the unsubscribe button on their webpage. She could not find one either. Finally, I called them on September 4th. The recording said it was a public holiday. So I called in the morning on September 7th. Another lady answered. First, she offered to lower the monthly fee to about 50%. When I said no, she threatened me with all sorts of "loss" that I would suffer if I quit. When I insisted on canceling, she said I was charged for another month today, September 7th, and my subscription could not be withdrawn until October. (I could not get a confirmation for my cancellation until October, either.) After I finally confirmed my cancellation, I asked for the contact of their customer service. She said she was. I asked to speak to a manager, and she put me on hold to listen to music forever! Since I'm writing this review anyway, I didn't mind waiting for the manager to show up.

More than an hour later, her manager, Karlo (employee ID: 15385), picked up the phone. He listened patiently to my story, refunded the two-month charges (August and September), and told me I could still use the service until October if needed. And he promised to correct all the mistakes on my Equifax file.

Equifax interaction is so bad

Wow. Equifax is not only rubbish from a data perspective, but customer service too. We own two properties, both without mortgages and neither appears on the credit report. Pay off loan eraly and no improvement in credit score. Slow updates will no doubt be fixed by paid subscription! Can anyone else send a meesage via an online help account?

Same crookery as with transunion

Same with transunion, they will take away points for you doing the right thing and paying off your debt on time. I suspect it's because they can pretend paid memberships will fix it but I won't experiment to find out. We need to flood the cfpb/ftc with complaints to get this to stop. We are suppose to earn points for paying off our debt on time not lose points.

Equifax/experian…

You can't even get enough below zero to give to this company Equifax that have been hacked sabotage or whatever you call it a people's information to be in a position to be handling People's credit information and giving a score this is the most worst company I have ever seen in my life they do not care about the consumers anything that the creditors are lenders or whatever it says that's their final answer during a dispute is a total waste of time these people can care less as long as the businesses keep telling their money and they are continuing to be the bottom feeders that they are I cannot believe the Equifax is still even in business as many times a breaches they have had they let you know that big companies are always on top and their hands are always in the government pocket to stay afloat these people are the worst them Experian both bottom feeders they need to both be shut down or re-examinated for how they give information about people scores now you talking about two companies they are the worst and have the audacity to get information about People's credit worth hell they don't even have credit worth how can you give anybody else credit worth

No customer service. None.

Successfully logged in, but it just says call their customer support. Except when I call customer support, it says it won't accept my call, even after I correctly answered all their lengthy security questions. So what am I supposed to do? There doesn't seem to be any other way to contact them. And this company is in entrusted to be in charge of our credit history? A great example of how dysfunctional America has become.

Equifax has 1 job

Equifax has 1 job, and that is to create trustworthiness between consumers and lenders, and yet they utterly fail at that. Even with Equifax access, they'll show you a credit score, but make it impossible to see what factors are impacting it. You want to see if you missed a payment somewhere accidentally? Too bad. You want to be responsible? figure it out on your own. You want customer support? Phone only, get ready to sit on hold.

Does this organization have any redeeming qualities whatsoever? I don't see any.

I have spent 2 plus years getting my credit score up , They say to use your cards and pay on time, I usually pay ahead of time and pay them offost of the time, I have been at the 690to 697 for a few months and I complained about Equifax dropping my score 50 points for paying off a loan. They put it back, now they have dropped it 17 points and few days later 16 points lower again. My cards limit is 15,000.00 dollars I am using only 17percent of my usage, they said my score is going down because my usage went up on 2 cards, WOW almost 500.00 total, I am not a Genius, but dealing with this company is not good, it's always a uphill battle of double standard, I advocate for Autism , mental health and Elderly Abuse, I have now been convinced to start with the same congress and senators about holding Equifax accountable for the damage they can cause family. EQUIFAX YOU ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW, YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO MUCH POWER, THANK YOU for listening

They are disgraceful.this company looks after your credit file and they are the worst . I had to explain myself about 20 times and the was an idiot.he had no idea. I was trying to explain what was happening and at one stage he said UM. Omg 😱
