Equifax are liars - how do they sleep at night?
Equifax are liars. My details were stolen and a fraudster attempted to buy something from Vodafone whereby a hard credit search was applied by Equifax to my credit report. Vodafone sent me a letter confirming this but Equifax refused to remove the search from my credit report?!?!? You can't speak with them on the phone, they repeatedly lock you out of your account, they don't reply to your emails unless you count a reply which does not answer your query or be in any way relevant or helpful towards fixing their shameful mistake. In fact Equifax are fraudsters for doing this! I thought Virgin Media were the worst how wrong was I? Whilst we are on it - Clearscore are charlatans "Oh we'll help you build your credit score", when in fact you are bombarded with texts and emails to take out credit cards and loans to put you into debt - is it just me?
Problems freezing credit report
I've spend hours trying to freeze my Mom's credit report at Equifax. The other two agencies only took minutes. First they couldn't verify her identity and had to snail mail a verification code. Once the code arrived the account setup completed without error. Now when attempting to login I continue to get a "We are temporarily unable to complete this request". All of this just to protect her from a data breach at her Doctor's office.
Pathetic customer service
Pathetic customer service. I have been waiting for my work done from last 3 months, nobody was able to help me. They keep on delaying. Their website is garbage merging your profiles with another people.

Don't waste your money on subscription. They steal your money and they won't even able to guve you the information you're looking for. They promise me i would get a refund but they never did

What an abysmal customer service experience.
I tried to cancel my premium subscription today - which, with any other company in 2023, you can do with a click of a button.
Instead, I was on hold for ages; the call-back option did not work; the verification process was beyond tedious. Even after I identified myself, later in the call, I had to find the credit card I used for the purchase - for security purposes. What a massive waste of my time.
I just wanted to cancel a simple subscription, and it was made way too complex.
They make it time-wasting hard work to cancel a subscription.
Then, when I said it was too expensive, I was told I could still have the same service at 50% off. What? Really? Why do you charge 20 bucks, then? I refused.
These people make it very hard to quit them and connect with them. It feels intentional.

I have read the reviews in Trustpilot from different customer and I was absolutely mouth dropped by the way that Equifax responds to the bad negative reviews. They write that the customers haven't given them enough information about the complaint and when I read the customer reviews, I can see that there is a lot of information there. iS THIS COMPANY REALLY WANTS TO IMPROVE OR NOT? BECAUSE DEFINITELY IF THEY DON'T WANT TO IMPROVE THEN THE BEST THING TO DO INTO THE SOCIETY IS TO GO HOME AND NEVER COME BACK. ABSOLUTELY BOGGER, USELESS AND INCOMPETENT AGENCY. Never use Equifax! It’s a awful company
After cancelling my subscription, they continued to charged me. When I was finally able to speak with customer service regarding the over-charge, the representatives were extremely rude to me!
I spoke to three different people in total.
The first person told me that they cancelled the subscription in February.
I was fine with the outcome and didn’t think much of it.
The second person told me he had cancelled it again, and I “may receive a refund in 14 business if it was approved, and I should just be thankful he helped me”. He then hung up on me with no explanation for why he was treating me like that, or why I was over charged in the first place.
When I called back, the last representative told me that my subscription hadn’t been touched either time I previously called.
They ended up only refunding me half of what was taken out of my account.
This company should be ashamed of themselves for attempting to scam customers.
Worst credit company!!
Worst credit company!!! The staff have been giving me wrong information and they are so confident about it. Something that can be disputed straightaway is taking months. I literally had to explain to them how to do their job and they still don't get it.

citibank refused me with a credit card due to equifax report. i order copy from them. few mistakes! they have 1 extra letter in my name, middle initial (i dont have it) and my birthday shows 73 years old (even im 60) and, lastly, my birthday as 12/30/1899 (making me the oldest person in a world). how come such company can be in business to provide credit reports, fico score and other info to creditors??? what a shame!!! the c/s speak very poor english (he was, probably, from vietnam or philippines, in order for company to save on the salary expenses). he dont seee my birthday at his file at all. really? when asked about VintageScore reason codes (ie 34, 39, 63, 66) he cant understand and explain it. dont use equifax or pay them any monthly fees, since they are no prudent and allow mistakes in reports, which may be one of the reason to provide credit to consumer. who want to credit 123 years old person?

What kind of company gives you only 1 option to cancel your subscription. By phone. Below the phone number they warn you that due to Covid-19 there is a long wait on the phone. When you call, wait an hour, you have to jump through hoops to verify yourself, and then they will try to talk you out of cancelling. This process should be banned. It's BS.

I had an awful experience cancelling the subscription; it's a fraud when you can't even remove your credit card from them. You should call and wait and provide a ridiculous amount of detail, like the four digits of the card used to buy the subscription.

Blocking my credit score
Equifax has completely blocked my flawless credit score due to my name change. I changed my name through court order and they REFUSE to update it. Now, when anyone pulls my credit this is what Equifax gives them as an error message: "APPLICANT FILE UNAVAILABLE; APPLICANT INFORMATION FROM THE INQUIRY HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS POTENTIALLY FRAUDULENT OR MISUSED, THEREFORE THE CREDIT REPORT IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR DELIVERY"
I do not even have a score with Equifax anymore, which is preventing me from doing anything that requires a credit score, including qualifying for a home loan. Experian and Transunion updated my name quickly, but after almost 2 years, Equifax does not even give me a score.
Even worse, Equifax has outsourced ALL of their customer service to the Philippines, so when you call them to talk about sensitive information, including your social security number, you will speak to people who can barely speak English. And they will not be helpful on the phone at all. One person will tell you one thing, the other person will make up something else.
This company needs to be investigated and shut down.

They have me listed as dead. So any credit references will fail. Absolutely rubbish company. They should not be in business. Hopeless to deal with and don’t know how this can be resolved. Equifax are no help at all. Shameful and appalling service.
How is this company allow to operate still?
Took multiple attempts to receive my free online report with them, called their customer support and they constantly send me to the link to enter my credit card to pay for their services. After I managed to do so, I inquired to update their (very) outdated information on me. I opened an inquiry on July 12, 2022. They asked for my SIN number before they can continue, I sent them the form from Service Canada. They ghosted me.
Aug 3, 2022, I tried to open an inquiry again. They ask for "two valid ID's, one of them showing your current address. Social Insurance Number. Previous residential addresses for the past five years. Copies of identification setting out your legal name and any former names. Proof of employment. If you are self-employed, please provide proof that you are the owner of the business. (Such a copy of the corporate search if applicable, income tax documents, etc.) and take note that this proof must be dated within the last three months. In order to receive a copy of your credit file, please indicate it on your next communication to us and specify your current address."
Oh wow. I do all that. Organized and scanned all the requested documents. Sept 7 comes along, I sent a message asking why they haven't responded. Tried asking on Dec 17 as well. Then they ghosted me again.
How is this company still operating? I can't understand how other businesses can work with equifax.
