Not a good experience
Not a good experience, The assessor was not engaging at all throughout the visit. Provided no feedback at all throughout the visit and then I received the report with a shock to the things that were captured as I had been given no opportunity to discuss this at the time of the assessment. Very poor service.

Following your complaint, we carried out a full review of the assessment and discussed your concerns with the assessor. During this review, he explained that, having previously assessed your premises and having identified no significant fire safety concerns, he made the judgement that a detailed closing summary was not necessary on this occasion. His intention was to avoid taking up more of your time, as he recognised that the site was generally well managed.
However, he fully acknowledges that this was the wrong approach. Regardless of the overall risk level, or how well a site is managed, clients should always be given the opportunity to discuss the assessor's observations before they leave. He has asked us to pass on his apologies, and we have used your feedback to reinforce this expectation with our assessment team.
We responded to your concerns in detail by email and have also attempted to contact you by telephone, as we would very much like the opportunity to discuss the assessment with you and answer any remaining questions. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to speak with you.
Our aim is always to provide professional, impartial advice while ensuring our findings are clearly communicated. We remain happy to discuss this further should you wish to get in touch.

I wouldn't say our experience was great. It is not an applicable term to use under such circumstances, which are usually stressful and can be a cause for confusion.
We are obliged to have these every two years and do our best to try to rectify recommended shortcomings. However, the final report never seems to bear any relationship to the conversation held whilst the inspection is being undertaken. By the nature of our status, we rely heavily on volunteers and there is only one full employee within the two parishes. Thus lack the structure of a company or corporation. We do our best.

We fully understand that many organisations, particularly charities, churches and community groups, rely heavily on volunteers and have limited staff resources. Our aim is always to tailor our recommendations to the resources available, while also ensuring that the action plan clearly identifies those areas which are the highest priority from a safeguarding perspective.
We're sorry that you felt the final report did not reflect the conversations that took place during the inspection. While assessors will discuss their observations throughout the assessment where appropriate, they may not cover every aspect of their findings on the day. In some cases, further research is required after the visit, or findings are reviewed and discussed during our internal validation process with a lead assessor before the report is finalised. This helps to ensure that reports are accurate, consistent and evidence-based.
We genuinely value your feedback and it will help us as we review our service to implement improvements and enhance the experience for the organisations we work with.
Competent Fire Risk Assessors
The Sales and Customer Care Advisors at FireRiskAssessments Ltd are professional and responsive; the Fire Risk Assessors are competent and turnaround the reports in a timely manner.
My only complaint is that where there are areas of concern highlighted in the reports, the team should be able to recommend a list of competent contractors who can carry out the recommended surveys or specialist contractors to complete the required remedial works.
This just goes one step further towards offering a more comprehensive service to customers.

We completely understand your suggestion regarding contractor recommendations and have considered how we might be able to help our clients in this area. However, as we do not directly use or manage contractors, we cannot confidently verify which companies consistently provide the best service, value, or expertise across every region of the UK.
It is also important that we remain independent, enabling us to provide impartial fire risk assessments without any commercial links to contractors. This ensures that our recommendations are always based solely on fire safety considerations.
We believe it is in our clients' best interests to obtain quotations from suitably qualified contractors or specialists, allowing them to compare costs, services, and timescales to ensure they receive the most appropriate solution for their particular requirements.
That said, we appreciate that clients often look to us for guidance when sourcing suitable contractors, and we will continue to review how we may be able to provide additional support in this area in the future while maintaining our independence and impartiality.

Organised fire risk assessments across multiple facilities. All fire inspectors were professional and brought a wealth of experience, enabling them to provide practical solutions to ensure compliance.
