Hughes Driver Training Reviews

Can’t thank Paul enough at the Leeds depot, so laidback with his approach, and a funny chap. Would definitely recommend Hughes driver training and Paul 👍🏻 .

What a pleasure to train with such a nice guy genuine and helpful. Andy B was down to earth nothing was too much trouble, calm and thorough. Reminding me of the things examiners look for. All round great teacher from beginning to end
Cheers Andy B

I have had a great experience with thiS company, i came for training for my class 1 licence.
Richard from Coleshill is a great instructor, felt at ease all the way through, he gave clear instuctions and very helpfull tips all the way through my training.
Thank you very much for my training and being paitent with me :)

I had Lukas for my instructor and he was fantastic he taught me all the needed material to pass my class 2 licence.
I would highly recommend HDT for doing any LGV training the are approachable and flexible.

Big thank you to richard at coleshill couldnt have passed without you thanks for all help and support

Nick gave me all the confidence needed to pass my test, lots of helpful tips and made me relaxed before my test

Great company Hughes Driver Taraining Leeds. I would 💯 recommend this to others. Paul Mills is one of the best instructors at Hughes Driver Training Centre. Thumbs up Paul you made my journey viable. I just discourage one instructor called Dan. He is not good and destroys the company's image. Very bad instructor so to say. Hats off to Paul Mills, the lad has so much patience, love and is just unique.

ZARA EARLEY (Northampton ) This Lady is a great instructor, went above and beyond training me this week. Very patient and informative. I couldn't have passed my off Road Manoeuvres without her massive contributions, I Walked in Hughes Yard Northampton with no idea how the Truck operates and zero experience but Confidently on the 8th July 2026 I walked out of that Yard as a Confident Professional Truck driver.
Once again Thank you Queen ZARA and all staff at Northampton Hudges Driver Training 🤗🫂🤗

Passed my class 2 HGV licence in Northampton with Hughes Driver Training. Brilliant experience from start to finish. Exceptional training from Nick. Highly recommend this team to get you through your training.

My instructor Steve was great, knew how to handle anything, showed me the best ways to handle the class 1 and with him I managed to pass everything first time

I done my HGV C+E training with HDT in Leicester and it was the best experience I’ve ever had!. My instructor was Neil and he was absolutely amazing, he was very calm and took his time with me which calmed my nerves for both my 3a and 3b Tests!. Neil was a very good teacher and taught me the best he could which lead to me passing both my tests first try!!!. I cannot recommend HDT in Leicester enough and especially Neil!.

Thanks to HDT and especially to Nick as his guidance and patience helped me passing my driving test. Much appreciated 👍

Today I passed with Hughes Driver Training (Leeds) Class C+E.

A big thanks to Dan for the start of the week. He was An amazing instructor from the Start and learnt a lot of on road information from him, getting me the Large vehicle off-road manoeuvres test.

Another big Thanks to Paul for the final few days. I had Paul up till my Driving test. He has been greatly helpful from start to finish, giving me perfect explanation on how to do certain things to never have issues on the road and getting me to the pass today.

All the staff have been Helpful, Friendly and knowledgeable. Making sure I'm comfortable in any of the areas or wanted to go do it again if I was unsure. Best parts are that Dan and Paul did not information overload me so my mind was not fogged over with too much information. Both are prime examples of perfect instructors and both should feel pride in the value they give.

I highly recommend Hughes Driver training to anyone in the Leeds area looking to do their HGV License

I not only passed my C1 practical today at Leeds branch but i did so with 0 minors and all thamks to my instructer Lucas who was amazing and helped drill in to me all the skills and practises i needed to get me through, all the instructers were helpful and friendly couldnt recommend them highly enough, cheers lads Steven

NICK (Northampton ) This Man is a great instructor, went above and beyond training me this week. Very patient and informative. I couldn't have passed without him, I Walked in Hughes Yard Northampton with no idea how the Truck operates and zero experience but Confidently today the 8th July 2026 I walked out of that Yard as a Confident Professional Truck driver.
Once again Thank you NICK and all staff👌🏾👊🏽

Neal is Great instructor and passed the test in first attempt, Thank you for great teaching and support.

If you’re looking for the best instructor, Andy B is the man. In less than 5 hours, he took me from knowing nothing to passing my test today!!! This guy is incredible! If you want someone who will give it their all to help you pass... it has to be Andy B.

Eamonn made my experience very easy. Passed within the 3 days and would highly recommend him to anyone coming to do there heavy good test. All aspects of driving

Thankyou again

Be very careful before paying this company any money. After I passed my theory, they asked me for a single date to start training (I said Jan 2nd). Instead, they booked me for a whole week without my permission. They sent a reminder exactly 7 days before the start date, and I replied instantly to tell them I couldn't do the whole week. They then claimed my reply "didn't count" as a cancellation notice, stole my money, and refused to rebook me. Unfair, misleading, and terrible customer service.
