I recently got laid off with 100 others and have. Personal loan with this bank. I called to ask if the had exceptions program for exceptional circumstances? They said because my loan was not 9 months old they do not have a way of helping me. Really you would rather people default on a loan then work with them during a difficult time it’s called a Hardship exstention of the loan folks . I would have gladly paid the interest if they would have just moved one month payment to the rear of the loan. Nope they refused to work with me when all I was doing was pre active to a situation out of my control. This is why Jeniuse Bank is doing poorly and losing millions of dollars. There not Jenius at all they are idiots in the customer care department. So now they get nothing the customer takes a credit hit and the bank sells the defaulted loan to a credit department hintchman ? Jenius folks and absolutely 💯 Jeniuse your bank is sinking and you’re doing everything you can to help it sink . Best of luck folks .

I have been with Jenius for some time, and it was great, but now I find out that I have a restriction on my account and cannot get the money out, and the investigation will last 30 days. Things were going fine on autopay until my dad died. I had to take a few weeks off work and got behind on some bills and my primary account was overdrawn to the point I had to leave my paychecks on Cashapp. No problem, right? Wrong. I cant link my cashapp account because they have red flagged them, and they won't take a debit/credit card number, account/routing numbers only. Everyone is spoke to was friendly and helpful the best they could, but the system in which Jenius takes payments is AWFUL. Its 2026, let my make a payment over the phone with the only form of payment I have available right now! Crazy you have to jump through hoops to try and make a payment. But oh, they dont charge late fees.
Stay way from that made up web only bank
If I could give them a negative star, I would. Never do business with that made up bank. Customer service is a joke. Holding up my money and not completing transfer request as asked for despite that I am strictly complying with their $50K transfer per day rule. FTC complaint is next
Great Experience!
I've been with Jenius since February and have had no issues at all. The website is clean and easy to use and I've called twice and both times got a real person that was very friendly and got my questions answered on the spot! Many of the bad reviews appear to be from people that did not read the details of how the transactions work/time frames. One was just bashing it not being an in person bank, which is extremely unfair since they say in their review they don't have an account.

Unfortunately, I fell for this. Its an interest first bank. Every day the loan goes up and up. They collect all interest first before they begin paying the principle. IMO I feel like that should be illegal. I have a car loan and a bank loan and when I pay it goes down but with this bank it goes up. So you never feel like you are paying it off. Reason is its an interest first loan. Once you have paid all the interest then they begin the principle. You can pay extra but the point of the loan is to pay it off over time with the monthly. Yes, it does but only once theve collected interest first. Sadly, they dont care about you and they could care less what is going on. The banks that do this should be investigated and I wish the government would crack down on interest first loans.
Personal loan, superb process and competitive terms
My wife took out this loan, but I was right there. Over the years we have done a few personal loans from digital banks. We decided to pay off a few loans and 2 credit cards at 26.5k and it took maybe 30 seconds to get approved and not more than a couple of minutes to complete the process. The term and rate was very competitive. We've borrowed from Upgrade, Lending Club bank and a couple of others. Im not sure what the low rating are about. The loan proceeds were in our account in 48 hours. Setting up repayment with autopay was simple. I give Jenius a 6 on the 5 star rating. Someone complained or said why would you put money in a online bank, why wouldn't you? Ever heard of American Express Bank? It's digital. Transferring funds into the high yield account, or out is pretty straightforward.

What a dumb idea
I will never be a customer of an online-only bank (who would even consider doing that?), so I'm writing a review simply for their juvenile advertising. Specifically, when they ask in their advertising "Who still goes to a bank?".
Well,apparently, people who tried this weird banking idea and write reviews of this goofy "bank" will still be going to a bank, in person, with people to talk to. Who came up with this idea of online-only banking? Probably the same person who thought it would be cute and catchy to spell "genius" with a "j". Preteens probably think that's cool, but adults aren't looking for cute and catchy.

Amazingly Happy with Jenius Bank. After a few months of searching I had multiple loan companies giving me an average of 15% up to 29% interest with a few offers near 11 and 12 with 2 interest rates including an average of $3500 origination fee. My loan payoff of $28000(which i was looking to refinance of $1006 per month) was already just above 15% w/an APR of 18.4. So I kind of gave up until I got an email about a month later from Credit karma which promoted Jenius bank. I never heard of them. The process was really smooth, Honestly don't remember having to upload any work related documents, but they did want access to my bank account, reluctantly I gave it to them as it all seemed legit. There was a bit of trouble with my face recognition on their system or more likely my android phone...so I called them and the customer service girl got me through it no problem. Within 3 days I got my $33,000 in my bank. It's just one simple interest rate at 10.49, No origination fee. My new payment is $619.47 per month. My credit score is about 718, and I make $73500 per year. So, It doesn't make any sense to me.....all these bad reviews. I've talked to 3 customer service girls and they are all so smart and helpful.

There is no way to know the requirements ahead of time when applying for a loan. When I got to a point in app that I was unable to complete on my phone the loan process was canceled. I requested they remove the hard hit on my credit and downgrade it to a soft one. After waiting the 10 days I called and was told they did it but offered no proof or confirmation #!

This was one of my worst experiences when trying to get any kind of loan. The person calling for information was not a loan officer and obviously she could not understand what was trying to explain to her. Great credit and very good income but they wanted a document that my agency could not provide. Never received a call from a knowledgeable person to fix the issue and finally they cancel my loan after even getting a hard credit report. They tempt you with a good offer but then they do not deliver. Don't waste your time with this company!!

Concerns About Account Payoff and Missing Statements
I just paid off my account, but funny enough—just like another review mentioned—the bank can’t even provide the total amount I paid in interest or my total payments. They hide that information, and you can’t get a statement either. You’re also charged interest daily instead of monthly. On top of that, they suddenly started giving me issues when I tried to pay it off.

Don't like them at all
Don't like them at all. I have a personal loan with them and they add interest and you will never see how much or how often. They don't even issue monthly statements . I have an open case with the FDIC as they are FDIC insured. I opened it a couple weeks ago and Jenius acknowledged, but haven't responded
Easy to use app for loan. Great savings rate.
Got a $40,000 loan through Credit Karma from Jenius Bank. The application process was pretty straightforward, and yes they had to confirm a few income things for a loan this size. Once approved, I had the funds I think in less than a day. Paying was very simple through the app. And when I inherited some funds and paid off the loan early, it was easy to do with no issues or early payment fees.
Very easy to work with them. Hope that the savings account is as simple to use for both saving and accessing larger funds given the great rate they offer.
AVOID THIS BANK AT ALL COSTS
My advice: DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY TO JENIUS BANK. YOU MAY NEVER GET IT BACK. From what I can tell, this pathetic bank often refuses legitimate withdrawal requests which comply with all the bank’s so-called policies. Their “customer service” people appear to have no authority to do anything. They will just repeat the bank’s usual BS platitudes about “looking into it” and “doing everything we can.”
Jenius gets very poor reviews for a reason. AVOID THIS “BANK” AT ALL COSTS.
